Q: What are they?
A: The RL Series is simply a line of 4 models in which we modified the barrel to give it a slight smaller diameter than it’s PRO Series counterpart.
Q: Is the wood not as good?
A: Just the opposite. Because we’ve made the barrels just a whisker smaller, we’re able to utilize very dense wood which gives your bat more durability, more pop, and the tighter diameter puts more backspin on the ball to give it more lift and carry.
Q: How much per bat?
A: For ballplayers who play Class "A" baseball in Minnesota, our pricing for the RL Series is as follows:
$55/maple
$50/birch
$47/ash
Q: Why so cheap?
A: We need to constantly turn over the inventory of wood that we have in our factory and make it into bats. Wood billets used to make the RL Series bats are in a weight range that can start to stockpile if we don't utilize it.
Q: Tell me more about the smaller diameter barrel and how that puts more backspin on the ball?
A: Sure. Smaller diameter barrels have greater curvatures. Greater curvatures allow the hitter to naturally put more backspin on the ball when making contact. Backspin gives the ball more lift and carry to help you drive the ball deep.
