| What time is the game? That is not mentioned anywhere on this site.
I doubt you will see anyone from the East Side of town since the Skyline and St. Paul Leagues are not represented on this glorified SLP/Minnetonka All-Star team.

| That's probably because they're playing the Minneview All-Star team. I doubt you saw any Eastsiders playing for the River Valley All Stars against the Saints last night either. I bet when they played the Cannon Valley All-Stars last year there weren't any St Paul guys either. Gosh, what a conspiracy!

| This first paragraph sums it up - this is from the Saints website.
"The townball team made up of Minnetonka Miller players and various other All-Stars from around the Metro Area proved to be formidable opponents for the St. Paul Saints who needed three runs over the final two innings to earn a 6-6 tie at Minnetonka’s Veterans Field."
If this was supposed to be just players from the Riverview and Park National Leagues, it should have been advertised that way - at least on this site. Class A All-Stars is misleading.
Nice job on the tie. Bud Selig must have been there.

| Someone correct me if I am wrong but in the past many years have the Skyline (while they have been around) and St. Paul balked out of the All Star game stuff? When I say that I mean the Park National versus Riverview.
My memory could be wrong but did these two leagues not like the format or something that was offered to them many years ago.
I actually believe they (St. Paul) said years ago they were not interested in any all star stuff. Then a few years later they piped up with some weird format and PN and RV said no thanks we will keep it the way it has been.
If this is true then perhaps that is why the SL and SP were not asked to partake in the Saints game.
Someone out there knows more then me so perhaps they could fill us all in.

| One more tid bit....I don't think anyone could argue with the players that were chosen for the RV and PN. I know or am familiar with all those who solidly represented Class A and I don't think anyone could pose a legit gripe that any one of those players should not have been on the roster for the Class A All stars.
As far as 12/26 players being from Park and Tonka I don't think anyone could argue that any of those players should not have been on the team.
Sure there are good players in the SL and SP but I am sure there is a greater truth to why no players from those two leagues were involved in this selection.
The Saints beat The RVL All Stars 7-2 and five of those runs were scored in the second inning.
Millar came up in BP and went 1-2-3-4 (HR-HR-HR-HR)......and that was all the swings he took as he was apparently happy with that. Two of those sailed well into the trees in left.
In the HR contest the Saints put out 12 while RVL jacked 4

| Hopefully I can clear this up...
Actually the game was originally scheduled to be the Riverview vs the Saints. Vellek approached the P-Nash coaches to see if we would be interested in taking part as a part of the fundraiser. 1 to sell more tickets and 2 to get additional players in the game. If they didnt add the P-Nash to the event it might as well have been Park/Tonka vs the Saints.
Overall I was happy with the roster for the game...and we put a damn good team out there.
Millar didn't look very good...his RBI single was a bleeder through the hole. Too much camera time I guess...the might as well have had a camera in the batters box with him.

| Oh and I don't think anyone called the team the Class A all-stars but this site so it was a typo. I heard Minne-View and Park National/Riverview but nothing else. The Saints press release even said Riverview All Stars.

| As far as this All-Star game goes, Park and Tonka were respresented well, but Id expect nothing less. There were 2 Tonka and two Park players in the Starting lineup. And there were two guys that played the entire game and they were both from the Park National League. As far as the East Side goes, Robin did participate. He was kind enough to show support for the event and for that, we thank him. East side had a chance to play them this year and will again next year. We put this entire thing together and there wasnt the field or Leadership to get it done on the east-side. Cuddy, Dont be mad at Park and Tonka for that.... It was a good game and even though we tied, I think the Saints see that playing Class A is better competition than going out to play a Class B All-Star team made up of 1 or 2 guys from each team in that League. We did our best to put the best club out on the field and we did well.

| Why is it, that to find out about the Class A All-Star vs. Saints, I have to go to the Minnesota Baseball Association website. Why wasn't there a story on this web site? Anyway, if you want info with all the stats go to their website.

| I'm absolutely amazed that the MBA website mentioned anything about Class A baseball. Those clowns only care about Class B & C teams and it's quite pathetic.

| It shouldnt be surprising that the game tied and was competetive. The best pitchers in Class A didnt even pitch and many werent on the roster. Many of the players for the All Stars could play for the Saints, and many have reached some level of pro ball. Difference is they now have families and jobs and cant afford to live off $500 a month. Kudos for a good showing of baseball. Should make it a yearly occasion

The answer is that this site relies on the participation of the players/teams that compete in Class A. If nothing is reported to the site administrator or to any of the 4 league commissioners, then that news will not be highlighted on the site.
The St. Paul League and the Skyline League have always had good participation on this site when it comes to entering schedules, reporting scores, etc. Now we need the Park National teams and Riverview teams to do the same.
