| i like how when it comes to park everyone says who really cares.. its early. but there comes a point to playing the game hard still. not running out balls no hustle at all. not to fun of a game when the other team slacks in effort. all im saying is sloppy baseball will bite teams in the ass.

| sloppy um not so much but lazy id have to say yes. on the lines that to me laziness is not running out hard hit balls and assuming that amateur baseball players are going to make every single play. is that considered sloppy? some say yes some may say no i guess it depends on who you are.

| My beiong former Class A "Donkey" or current Class B "Donkey" is irrelevant. Former Park player is also irrelevant on this one as is my age of 41.
I just love the Park bashing because it always comes every single year. Those guys don't care about all of that and Park has always been the team to hate for whatever the reasons players on lesser teams come up with.
I see descriptions of this years Park club like "sloppy, lazy, not running hard, assuming guys are going to make plays on hard hit balls" and as a baseball guy I have to laugh a bit.
When scrappy coco doo says he hopes they make "a little bit better run then they did last year," I find that comical as well. If for no other reason then they were atleast there to make a run at all unlike many other hapless little clubs
These types of things are nothing new to the Park club from the young pups of the world and or the guys who truly don't "get it."
For the last ten years this stuff has been going on. All the while the last ten years Park has been old they are just now obviously older every year, like everyone else.
Thing is for ten years at least this stuff has been going on and the last ten years Park has made state 8 times, taking one 3rd, one 2nd and two championships.
They did not have this success by playing hard and getting injured in May and June. They did not post the numbers they did during the past ten years by hustling every ball out as old men in May and June...this year is no different.
Thing is the poor loosers of the town ball circuit always complain because people say Park or their supporters use the excuse as "it's early." Hey news flash! IT IS EARLY!
A team that has about five guys under 30 and not one under 25 with the rest of the club ranging from 30-41 is not going to care about any thing "early" except getting to the yard whenever they can around family time and gradually getting themsleves into having better AB's and other reps......they don't practice so games are in a sense their practices.
No team is more competitive then Park and hates loosing any more regardless of how old they are. Call them excuses all you want, poor play or any thing else but what it all is a team loaded with veterans with backgrounds who know what they need to do in order to get ready for when it counts.
Simply stated a team who has been to state 15 of the last 20 years placing 1rst 2nd or 3rd in 8 of their 15 appearances knows how to get ready to play.
Lastly yep they are old and perhaps they won't make the tourney but if they do whatever run they make or don't make won't take away from who they are, what they have been and the winning reputation they have built as one of the top town ball organisations this state has ever seen or ever will see.

| "Serving it up.....the only thing I serve up is sling slang crap on this forum to get donkeys all geeked up about some 41 year old guy who forgot more about baseball then most of the donekys who come onto site even pretend to know.
I love being a donkey and getting gooooofs all razzzed up."
That is what you said Old Timer on this forum on May 25, 2010.
Looks like you're getting a little taste of your own medicine, people are getting you worked up. Seems like the "gooooofs" got the "donkey" all razzed up this time. There is no denying it, that was definitely a post deep down from the heart. I'm surprised you didn't put a yellow face with a tear in it's eye with that last post.

| All of us can sling it but here are some facts for the pretenders of Class A.
No team other then these clubs in no particular order has even a sniff of winning the title this year or for that matter even playing for the iron as one of the final two.
Tonka Pub Frieght Edge Park Gators
It could just be a six team double elim tourney with two teams getting byes.
Those are the only teams that have basically done any thing in the tourney for the past 10 years any way so why not.

| Hmmm, the Shamrocks sit on top of St.Paul right now, not sure where they will finish, but I seem to recall them beating Tonka not once but twice at state two years ago. That to me seems to be qualify as "doing something" at the tourney.

| yeah i guess being between 30-40 years old is a good excuse not to play the game hard especially in a game with two dominate teams in the state. personally i like games to be a bit more intense. playing park early in the year kinda feels like playing a team that is in the bottom of the any of the leagues. not intense at all. like i said im just sick of hearing "its early" when it comes to park. lets stop making excuses cause no one says anything else about how early it is when it comes to any other teams. ill leave it at this. if you cant run to first base maybe its time to hang em up..

| Crappie/Crafty......what "excuses." I know the players on Park never make any for themselves.
Perhaps you meant you are sick of "excuse me's" as in "excuse me" for all the success they have had for the past 20 years.
Bottom line for anyone and not just yourself is if a person is fortunate enough to play into their mid 30's and beyond one will find that your approach to the game has to change due to age.
No one in their right mind at say late 30's 40 years old is going to run every single play out hard prior to mid season or so.....if they did they would get dinged and it would stay that way lingering through the rest of the year or worse yet they would get injured and never have the opportunity to play for a team that for the past ten years has been old and beating plenty of young teams all along the way and having more tourney success then any team in A except the Millers.....
......"excuse me."

| Enough of the Park talk. Guys have to realize that yes the regular season matters but good teams get it together when it matters most = playoffs and state. Younger guys get geeked up over records during the season and hoop and hollar every game. Park and other veteran teams earned there respect. Until other teams put up there resume and get it done when it matters put a muzzle on it and win a title.

| The truth of the matter is that nothing in the past has ever won in the present.
Let's let this season speak for itself. Perhaps Park will do well this season as they have in the past and perhaps they will lose more than they win. Each game will take care of itself and the best teams will end up at the top.
Keep playing hard and let your bats and defense speak for itself!
