| 1) Shamrocks 7-0, Beat Air Freight 4-0. 2) Tonka 14-2, Lost to Brooklyn Park 11-1, then came back and won Dundas Tourney by beating Park 14-2 in championship game. 3) Lyon's Pub 12-2, Lost to Hastings, beat Commanding Edge team. 4) Stockmens, 6-1, 3-0 league play, beat Mpls Angels. 5) Minneapolis Angels 5-2 league play, Park National looks like strongest league to date. 6) Albert Gators 4-2 league play, tough loses outside of league. 7) Commanding Edge 2-0 League, lost to Lyons Pub. 8) Air Freight 2-3 league, better then what their playing right now. 9) Minneapolis Lakers 4-2 league, lost to Angels and Gators. 10) Richfield Ramblers 2-1 league, lost 3-1 to Tonka, looking to make a run again.
Park and Rocks drop out of top ten, still our teams to be taken seriously. Just not top ten right now.

| Semi-Pro...Those rankings are right on for it being the mid point of the season.
Shamrocks look scary good.
Tonka has been putting up tons of runs on the board. No doubt they have the best line-up.
Lyon's Pub have won a lot of sloppy games, but are the best and deepest team in the P-National
Stockman's is loaded with depth too and should stay on top of their league.

| Commanding Edge is no longer a factor. They lost to a crappy Highland Park team. I guess now that Denning isn't around that team will fall apart.

| just dont know how u can take tonka out of number 1.. yea lost to games, one seems like a kind of a fluke, shamrocks have played a lot less games then tonka and pub, a lot less chance for one of those fluke games.

| Since I always speak of Park due in part to the fun bashing I get in return here is an FYI....
They have been completely without two of their top four pitchers thus far and one of their other top four guys is just starting to get back into it from off season surgery.
Gabe Eikum is the only guy to throw at near 100% this year of their top four guys.
Pitching has a way of dictating how things go or don't go for any team at any level.

| No team in the entire state can match Tonka's batting order period and I think that topic has been beaten up many times.
Park, Pub and a few others have solid line ups as well but 1-9 no one is even close to Tonka period....pop, speed, lefties, average there is no comparison.
As far as Edge perhaps they are experiencing growing pains as I heard that Noble was managing Edge any longer

| Noble can no longer coach Commanding Edge as long as he is a paid coach at St. Thomas. I've heard he is with Air Freight now. Speaking of Air Freight, they seem to be just going through the motions until the games start meaning something. Shamrocks will win the St. Paul League by 5 games. Nobody is even close to them.
St. Paul rundown
Shammies: will run away with league title
Air Freight: will step it up when need be. Whinnery and Erickson are best 1-2 punch in the league
Capitals: got the better players from Rosetown and should be decent. Don't know what they have for pitching
Edge: UST players are no longer required to play for them. Better returning players playing elsewhere but they still have good pitching
Sport & Spine: down this year
Rosetown A's: not very good after team divorce with Capitals
North End: same as always. mediocre.
Highland: improving a little but still not a factor
East Side: very young and gung ho. They play like 50 games. Still a long ways from contending.
Sharrow: new uniforms - same results
TC Saints: no chance

| I have not seen Tonka play this year. But since they are the defending State Champs, they should be rated #1 until another team takes the Title from them.
Best uniforms - the Ada A's! You got to check them out on the home page on Minnesotabaseball.org

| Here is my take on the teams listed as the top 9.
1) Shamrocks- Heard they are playing well and top the St. Paul league without any problems. Have they played any top tier teams yet? Have they had a challenge yet, other than Air Freight? 2) Tonka- By far the best overall team as Old Timer states from 1-9. They will have a test this weekend in the tournament they are playing in. 3) Lyon's Pub- Good record thus far. Have beat angels and gators in close games. Have added a few players for depth. Will have test this weekend in tournament against millers 4) Stockmens- usually a good ball club. Will be a state tourney team. 5) Minneapolis Angels- always a great hitting ball club. You can never count them out. Pitching depth could be a question mark. 6) Albert Gators- have a speedy lineup at the top of the order. If 1 or 2 get on, plan on them scoring. Do they have enough pitching to go deep in the state tournament, only time will tell. 7) Commanding Edge- not this year. 8) Air Freight- with whinnery on the mound and the vets at the dish, they are a scary team to have to play. They are proven from last year. If they stay sharp in the regular season and come into tourney like last year I would'nt want to play them. 9) Minneapolis Lakers- lost their best player this year. Not sure they are a contender this year. 10) Richfield Ramblers- no nothing about them 11) Park- They are always legit. They have had some injuries with their pitching. Who would want to face that veteran lineup in crunch time? 12) Rocks- Might be a sleeper team. Got some good players and playing well this year.

| About Sport n Spine, we (yes I play for them as the veterans of this forum pointed out last year) are not down.. Its hard to come into League play strong when 5 of our non-conference games are rained out in a row, then get one game to gear up for league play. Our new guys are strong and playing well. Ya we started slow but we are up and running now after a smashing of Rosetown and having all our players finally available to play regularly. With the other teams in our league that are down we will be playing hard and make our way to the top.
See ya there boys,
Tav
