While we are basking in our glory of the great relationship with the town can you find out why we pay more here than Warwick night league. You know Warwick - where the city drags and lines the fields daily and the grass is cut nicely?

Pardon my grumpy old man ranting but the dustbowl at Hunters yesterday was the final straw. Especially after playing at Oakland beach last week and that shitty field was in better shape for a rec league game than any Coventry field I have played on all season.

by good relationship i mean they haven't busted my balls since March. i agree the fields were brutal yesterday. most of our costs are covering our expenses.

i have been in contact with the womens league commissioner and president and we have some plans to address the town about our leagues in the winter. don't want to start any battles now.

lets not forget the warwick parks and rec. director for the last 10 years was also the nsa president. it has to help having a softball guy in office. i don't know about the new guy, but they have kept up with it. also, i just looked at the warwick parks and rec website and they actually support the leagues and have schedules on their website. coventry signs our field permits and tells us when people complain.

which reminds me...

the womens league commish knows someone running for Town Council in November that supports the womens league and would also support us.

if anyone else knows someone thats running that would support us please let me know.

once i get those names ill be posting so we can get support beyond the parks and rec.

I dont think we pay more...they dont include ump fees....right? Coventry runs ump fee throught the league and Warwick doesnt....if you take into account all fees I thought it was about the same. Answer me Rynbergstein. ( lb4lb...Warwick Red Division Champ 2006 Blue Division Champ 2007 )

It cost $675.00 to play in the Warwick NSA League this year. $450 went to the City of Warwick and $225 went to RINSA. Umpires get $24/per game. They are pretty good on maintaining the fields and having them ready to play on. The fields are lined daily including on Sundays for the most part.

When I ran a team in UFCW Local 328 league, I used the fields at Bain Middle School and Western Hills Middle School. The City of Cranston charged me roughly $300 for the season per field. That included dragging the infields and lining the fields.

Smitty that lack of ball busting is about to end. I am playing at Nike next week. If I get a really good head start with a strong wind at my back I can get my Escort up to 35 mph by the time I reach the field. And the way out has a slight downhill slope so I can go even faster.

Peaches (you are still peaches because you don't get to reclaim the name TIMEBOMB by getting tossed from a game that you have already been taken out of, while sitting in the bleachers, drinking a beer, with a fence between you and the umpire...(got you! like espo got me!), I will be sure to let you know.

I'm hoping that at the November/December town council meeting we present our case and our treatment to the council. Then at the December/January meeting we can flood it with every single voting member of the League.

Usually, they have an open mic.

And I can't wait to hear you slobbering all over it...ASSHOLE!

Are we sending a retard to speak on our behalf or someone that is just a little slow?
Personally I would like to see Demonti dressed up in a fancy suit and deliver a speech.

Mikey would sound like a drunken Don King. Town Council wouldn't have a clue what he was talking about. They'd tell him to come back and speak to the zoning board!!!
