St Paul: Shamrocks seems to be a prohibitive favorite to advance again while Air freight and Sport & Spine currently have the two seeds. Will Commanding Edge Step up and advance? Can anyone below them pull a couple upsets and advance to the dance?

Riverview: Millers and Park should get in while the 3rd team is up for grabs. Bloomington is holding dowwn 3rd for now and are a good young team. Who is good enough to knock them out?

Park National: Lyons Pub should go and the Gator's and Angels currently hold 2&3. Don't know much about these guys. Watch out for the Blue sox as they have given up 111 in 13 games.

Skyline: I kept the topic of the last week for last. Township is cruising although rumors of being lucky have been thrown about. Stockmens is solid and moe's is good again. The question's here are can stillwater get hot like two years ago? Can Tri-city or St. Anthony pull an upset? Does anyone really care as they seem to be relegated to 4th best among the Class A leagues?

Let's here some thoughts. OT Please don't post as you have already forgotten more about all class A teams this season then I will ever know. Enjoy the gum and jerky.

Pluff why would you ask me not to post? I digress and will obviously post whenever....

All I am going to type on is White Bear.

Ok so that are what...10-0 in league and 12-6 overall. I don't know much at all about this club so I was a bit curious and being a guy who believes in stats somewhat I had to check them out.

Their top pitcher is 6-1 and in 49.2 innings he has allowed 39H, 26W and 4 HBP...he has struck out 18 has a 2.17 ERA with 16 runs allowed and 12 earned. Those are hardly jaw dropping numbers for an ace.

Their number two pitcher is 4-0 and in 24 innings he has allowed 16 hits, 10 walks and he has struck out 17 while giving up 5 runs and 4 earned......again not jaw dropping numbers.

They sport a .287 team batting average.

Based on the overall caliber of the competition they play I know stats don't tell the whole truth but they normally don't lie either.

I am officially off the topic about sky line (maybe) there are no teams from skyline that will do any better then 2-2 in the tourney.

Period!

well i can only give an opinion of the skyline since thats what i play in.

first of all old timer, who even keeps stats in amateur let alone have them memorized like that. you need a new hobby i think.

i think township will be a 1-2 or 2-2 in the tourney. they really cannot hit the ball. their pitching has won them most of their games. any above average pitcher will easily hold them to 2 or less runs.

stockmens will be the other good team representing skyline. i believe that they have the best hitting lineup by far in the skyline. their pitching has been farely well although i dont think they have anyone that can throw 7 innings of scoreless or 1 run ball. stockmens will go 3-2.

i really can't say who the other team is that will make it. the middle of the pack is too close to make a decision. but like everyone says... it doesn't matter because skyline is the worst leaguu.

Over under on skyline total wins in state tournament is 1.5. They can't match the other teams top pitcher in game 1 and can't outhit anyone. It will be a struggle.

no more undefeated team in skyline...looks like the luck of scoring about 3 runs a game and winning finally ended.

Stillwater- 4 Township- 2

Small Calves...go back through the history and see where North End landed in the standings when they played in the Skyline before you spew donkey chatter!

I suspect that movement has much more to do with travel to games than depth of the league. The kids from North End were a good crew, however. I wish Battaglia and crew nothing but good swings in the St. Paul league.

To be honest, St. Paul league has better top end talent, but the bottom of the barrel teams are definately equal to the Skyline bottom. That being said, I still prefer St. Paul.
