I think another apology from Knight is in order..this time for hitting three hrs..one for an out..totalling 1000 feet . What a masher. Add him to the historically greatest Coventry hitter of all time Fiskey and the Great Neil Lesniak and thats a helluva a 3,4,5. Doucette launched a couple of bombs and Goodwin and Lags set the table as well as anybody. So congrats to CM it appears that they have locked up the regular season championship. If we see you again its probably for the playoff championship

Thanks guys but Neil might still have the title. The way we both look at it is which ever one of us wins it we both are on Moulton so that is a pretty good lineup.

I may have to disagree Bob. The year we beat you guys in the finals, when Jimmy broke his arm on the last out, I believe I won the batting title that year.

Ok..THE YEAR JIMMY GEORGE BROKER HIS ARM in the finals..on the next to last play of the game...Knight did win the batting title and his team won the championship. I will change my statement: Of the last 3 seasons, the league leading hitter was not on the league champion team.

Ok..jesus...I guess only former batting title winners are logged in today! My facts are flawed apparently. New statement: in 2007 and 2009 the batting average leader was not on the team that won the championship. Kirby didnt qualify for the title in 2008 because of lack of abs..GT wins and so did VFW. And, no batting title winner has ever been in my living room.

Ryan Clarke, Randy Fiske, Chris Knight?

Who are three batting title winners who have never been in my kitchen?

" hey send the letter do the time ... take the fall ... you come out and you will be a made man and il buy you two bats " or sitting there with john holt " all family business ends today .. i want those fig newtons ... il make baxter a offer he cant refuse "

NSA State winners bracket finals 2005 I think it was. I was on the losing end of a 1-0 game. The run scored on a foul sac fly that our RF dove for and hit the fence. Worse than that is I lead of the 7th with a double and never moved. Popup popup groundout game over.

I remember artie. The night of the long knives. We took care of Ricky Reynolds, Joey Ash , Jason Jenckes Sean Lukowicz and a few others that night with various plots and plans. Dutilly came to me for counsel. As he often does. Late summer, 2006. Remember, I aint even in the league at this time. I took my talents to Warwick that summer. We meet at a Portuguese safe house for some sweetbread and kale soup...5 Rice Street West Warwick to be exact..Dutilly says " I cant take one more day playing for JR and his dbag son. Not one more day. He sits ME and plays McGrath! How do I get outta this ?" So, of course, I give him the idea and he writes the letter ratting himself out. And, at the same time, enhancing his reputation as league bad ass because he's thrown out for flaunting the league rules " fuck baxter fuck the league and fuuuuuuck Rob Raymond ( rob mattered back then )" I remember him saying. So, he torpedo'd his own team. This year he is doing it again...torpedoing his own team that is...using a different method....one painful pop out at a time. Dutilly is a combo Fredo/Tessio/ Sammy the Bull.

Dute...who was playing left field for you that day? I ask because tommy sevigny scored on a sac fly and the ball was hit only 15 feet behind 3rd base. Sevigny seems to always score the winning run now that I think of it.

nobody does! and I was his dad's best friend in softball. Three days a week JR would stop by the office for a little softball chit chat. Riley owes me a high five AND a dinner! Triple play replay: Top 8th Game 1. 7-7. Nike site. Im catching and throwing dirt on RYNOs shoes..he takes and oh-fer. 3 singles in a row. Bases loaded no outs. Ian was thinner...way way thinner. Hard smash to the backhand of SS Matt Turbitt. He grabs it..on his knees and guns to JohnnyBench4JohnnyBench. kind of a bad throw.,,one hopper to the first base side. I play it like a first basemen while blocking the plate with my left calf. Runner from third OUT (1) on the force..and he tripped and tumbled over the calf. That matters because it added to the confusion. Runner at second never moved ( Bob the Statue Sisson ). HE NEVER MOVED. He just stood there ..staring..frozen..like Hinske's girl does when Handsome James walks by. Third Baseman Tainsh yells " bobby bobby throw me the ball ". So, wtf..I hesitated...say what?..and threw him the ball Out (2). Beaver was on first. ran to second..then saw Sisson there...ran back to first assuming grounder was a line out...Tainsh tags third throws to Considine at second..who dropped it, kicked it to short left where ian dove and grabbed it and threw it back to Considine who dropped it and then Scanlon picked it up and tagged second forcing the Beaver out ( 3). TRIPLE FUCKING PLAY!! Tommy scores on a SAC..game over in the bottom of the 8th. A goddamned miracle, The second one of that playoffs. Now, we can talk about me single handedly ending the Hustlers 49 Game Winning Streak...not RYNO, not Lemme, not Knight...ME...and we will..OR...we can talk about the 3rd greatest play in Coventry Softball History..doubling up Jeff BEEP BEEP Goodwin in the 2008 playoffs with the bases loaded...breaking CMs back and catapulting us to the championship game. Artie, which would you like Uncle Bobby to tell?

Wonderful story with one mistake. The dirt on the shoes game was regular season. I missed the playoff triple play game, explaining why you got the triple play. I would have been hitting behind Beaver and never would have hit the ball to the left side with men on base and no outs.
