| The 2010 GCFFA & MCFFU Connecticut State Championship Tournament is in the books! It was a great weekend for football loaded with marquee games all weekend long. To have all of the truly elite teams battling each other for the right to be crowned the KING of CONNECTICUT was awesome. It seemed like every game came down to the last play or someone was making an unbelievable play to lead their team. The final 4 came down to Connecticuts 4 longest tenured 9-man teams and featured 3 games that all were won or lost in the final seconds of play.
Every team played extremely hard win or lose and players showed both tremendous individual ability and great sportsmanship and kept it football even when tempers flared in some of the more heated rivalry games.
When it was all said and done, the Hartford STEELERS ran the gauntlet defeating the TROJANS, YOUNG GUNZ and KNIGHTS, back to back to back to regain there throne atop the Connecticut flag world. Great job by their leaders........Swin, Martin and Leo for adding to the STEELER legacy yet again.
SOME NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS.....
PLAYERS........
>>> Tyrese Hixon, BULLDOGS is quietly become the most explosive player in CT flag
>>> Mike Colavito, STEELERS has won yet again, love-em or hate-em but you have to respect the rings this guy has
>>> Bam, YOUNG GUNZ has to play every time the GUNZ take the field.......make it happen big dog, your a game changer from anywhere on the field (the best ghost stiff arm ever)
>>> Jeremy Moore, CHARGERS is gonna be an MVP when he gets done with school and plays a full year in flag
>>> Boobie, TROJANS is the next big time WR to shine in CT
UNITS........
BEST D-LINES
1. STEELERS 4-man front are a pack of wolves
2. CHARGERS had as much pressure with 3 as most teams do with 4
3. GATORZ no superstars just a bunch of guys who never stop coming
BEST O-LINES
1. TROJANS their bigs are BIG and gave the QB a chance all weekend long
2. KNIGHTS steady play on pass protection, run blocking and screening
3. BULLDOGS the twins and verne troyer are as scrappy as they come
WR CORES
1. KNIGHTS these 4 white guys made db's look silly all weekend
2. CHARGERS two old dogs showed they still got it
3. TROJANS despite missing CJ they still were going up top on everyone
SECONDARIES
1. STEELERS jamal, drew, rocket and co. locked up the best and shut them down
2. BULLDOGS you have to chip away against these guys cause going up top is suicide with Ty waiting back there
3. YOUNG GUNZ despite missing a few these guys sworm to the ball faster than anyone
THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT THIS WEEKEND, YOU ALL HAVE HELPED MAKE CT FLAG WHAT IT IS TODAY.........ENJOY THE FALL SEASONS, WHEREVER YOU PLAY AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU GUYS AGAIN AT OUR FALL TOURNAMENT AND THE 2011 GCFFA SPRING LEAGUE!!!!!

| no disrespect to the steelers or gunz and im not gonna trash talk them but i think the gatorz D Line was the toughest out there man...great job and Chris thanks man..the tourny was awesome....Congrats Steelers...u guys played like real champs!!!

| Good weekend for CT flag football. 1st Congrats to the steelers. Knights get my over Congrats yall got to the chip after playing 3 games prior. Tough loss for the chargers, yall should have had the win vs knights and played the steelers. Gunz have a good squad it kinda looks they will be solid with a full time qb. Bulldogs u guys looked good until yall hit a complete team. Trojans kinda disappointed me, not much to say, their kinda like the Bulldogs young and need some more time. Gatorz are a decent team just need to calm down on the talking. Play football and let the score do all the trash talking. Specially when your losing.

| Chris just wanted to say thanks once again for having the Steelers up in the durty. It was fun seeing everyone again. This old man had the time of his life, those young boys made me work my ass off. But when it was all said and done. Classy dudes on and off the field. Ish-Kinghts, Bam-Gunz, Sampo & Snook Trojans, Oldskool much respect to you guys.

| Trojans, knights, chargers ya should join the hffl that way we could see more of these matchups through the course of a 10 game reg. season. every week it will be a big time game. just a thought.

| Don't think the trojans need a qb just yet. Sampo looks like he can still throw the ball. He does need a backup
