Ok so .....

Ill just come out and say this .... I think the OAA is a stacked conference this year! We have some very .... very good teams. I predict the OAA will have at least 10 teams in the play offs! 6 teams will go deep in the play offs ... 2 will make the state semi finals and we may finally crown a state champion(s) from our conference in 2010. Yep I said and I mean it ...sorry to offend anyone ......but what do you think!?!?!??!?!

Wow...I really would have thought we'd have more. Surprising. Hopefully this is the year we add to our total.

Will be pretty hard to get 6 teams deep in the playoffs, unless more downriver and Detroit teams make the playoffs, as Farmington/Harrison/Berkley/Southfield were in 1 district last year, and you know Lake Orion/Clarkston will probably be in the same district.

I personally see at least the following:

White:

Harrison, Adams, Farmington

Red:

Lake Orion, Clarkston

Blue:

Seaholm, Berkley, Hazel Park

These seem to be the obvious choices after 4 weeks. The really tough call is who else makes it. I honestly believe the winner of tonights Pontiac/Rochester game will be on the right track being they both have Lake Orion behind them. Avondale has a shot if they can string together a few victories. Troy will need to beat either Pontiac, Lake Orion, or Clarkston (conceivable). In the white, Southfield and Oak Park have a shot if they can pull off at least one upset along the way.

I am going to call it as 12 teams this year....

Boon here are my thoughts:

Pontiac/Rochester and Clarkston/Troy are key games in the Red this week, the winners of those probably make it and I have a feeling one of the losers will too. So I say 4 from the Red.

In the White I just think the "Big 4" in there are extremely good and I would be quite surprised to see one of the bottom 4 teams pull off a win against one of the top 4 teams. So I feel like only the top 4 out of the white.

In the Blue I feel the 3 powerhouses in there will make it for sure, and probably one of the other 6 finds a way to make it to 6 wins.

So I'll say 4 from each division for 12 total. Of those 12 I feel the top 3 candidates to win a title currently are Lake Orion, Harrison, and Farmington, in that order.

Check out the brackets by snooze2me . I swear MHSAA use his brackets for the playoffs. He shows if the playoffs were held today what teams would be in what districts. Really COOL!

Anybody else check this out?

Scouts u break out the OAA history books...u r amazing!

All...Interesting feedback on the playoffs...good discussion! Some key games being played this week!!

Bottom line all of us feel the OAA will be well represented in the playoffs.

Yea Adams would do well in their districts if played today! But I believe would have ML King, and De Lasalle waiting for them at regionals!

Since it's Thursday, I'll go ahead and make my 1st projection of the season. It's also pretty much the official half way point of the regular season.

I'll going with 11 teams this year, and I'll know more about those 11 teams this time next week.
