| Well, going into every week, there have been lingering questions about different aspects of the Rams game. One week... can we pass the ball? The next week... can we handle the power run game of NH? This week... can we defend the pass? Each week, the boys have responded and passed each test with flying colors. Not only were we able to handle the passing game, we shut them down, and picked of WW four times... three of which came from Trevor Axsom.
I think one thing that kept them off guard was the pressure of knowing that every now and then, we were going to blitz Andry. We didn't every time, but just enough to keep them guessing.
I had heard through one of the players that Kendall Rosembaum from WW was bragging this past week that this was going to be the highlight tape he sends off to colleges. I think he probably will change his mind on that.
One lingering problem that Coach B will be working on for our showdown with Corydon (yes, I know we play Crawford next) is reducing the penalties. Crawford will be a team that we can afford some mistakes on and still kick them all over the field. To say they are down is an understatement. Corydon will not be a team you can make those mistakes on... especially unsportsmanlike conduct penalties like Andry had last night.
All that being said, I'm having a blast watching these guys... as much or more than even last year. It's a completely different team with a different personality, but something about them is exciting... I think the continuing and weekly improvement we are seeing is part of that.
Here's hoping for good weather next week...

| We're not going to be able to do much when we get into the playoffs and start playing teams who face a much tougher schedule than outs. Look the total number of wins our opponents have amassed ytd and we've not played anyone. It's easy to have a nice score and win on a team who hasn't won any games.

| Well one thing that hurt West Washington Friday was that they didnt take advantage of what The Rams were giving them...I was watching the gamne and thinking "The Rams are blitzing alot why doesn't Dub Dub take advantage of that"...the only time I seen it happend was right before the 4th interception on the night when The Rams blitzed and West Washington had a crossing pattern coming across the field and it went for like 20 or so yards of course that went nowhere when their QB threw an interception into Triple Coverage...which thats one thing that honestly kept me scratching my head in that West Washington knew that thier QB goin to his left or throwin to his left wasn't very good...the Rams knew it so instead of using that to their advantage Dub Dub keeps forcing interception...what some people may not realize is that the Rams brought the blitz in a couple ways one was to get pressure on the QB another was that their line wasn't blowin people off the ball and gettin pressure on the QB...and then when they did that and their QB would keep the ball and run it up the middle he would gain 6-8 yards...there's a difference between facing West Washington's passing attack compared to Mater Dei's passing attack...a problem I see outside of defending the passis the lack of a pshysical run game outside of Shepard who runs hartd up the middle everytime he gets teh ball...that toss sweep they run is a hit and miss play and at times West Washington slowed it down close to shutting it down...the passing game I just have a fear that we will in theplayoffs run up against a team that will shut us down and force The Rams to pass and when we don't have that downfield threat or that pasing game to offset the run The Rams will be imn trouble I would like too see The Rams pass 20-25 games to get the passing game in a rhythym...but it has yet to come to fruition...anyway another victory another PLAC victory and hopefully the victory train keeps rolling....

| Shiz: How are we going to do when we play Brownstown in the playoffs? Do you think we have what it takes to beat them this year, or will it be them that moves on to the Regional?

| I don't know alot about Brownstown this season haven't talk too my Brownstown folk over there this year...all I know is that the Eggersman kid was tearin it up early in the season...IF they do meet up for the Sectional Championship it's one of those deals where you're goin to have beat Brownstown and not just walk through the paces...it will be one of those games where now people cheer because that toss sweep ran for 2 or 3 yards but will complain in that game when they are either down a score or two or the game is tied...I just wish they would still play in the regular season because it would give you an idea of how good both teams are but because of Pekin and Crawford that won't happen anytime soon...I just see little things now that aren't as noticeable because The Rams' competition isn't as great as The Rams are playin that will down the road in tourney time flare up and cause them problems...I just don't want The Rams to fall into another Monrovia game like they did last year...Actually this years Rams team reminds me of some of the past Brownstown teams of the early 2000s that would run the Wing-T and have an offense that diodn't pass much and they would end up going so far in the tournament before facing a team that would force them to pass and would end up beating them...I think who wins the game depends where it's played...if good weather...I think if Brownstown gets up 14 points The Rams are in trouble if The Rams get up 14 points then they can control the tempo and Brownstown will be in trouble...it's just goin to be hard for The Rams to run the Wing-T and not trick Brownstown as much as most of the teams this year...should be a good game IF they make it to the Championship game...but I wouldn't sleep on some of the other teams like Providence...

| I'm just curious if we get past Brownstown in the sectional and move on to the Regional, how would we do with the team year in whoever we would play. I don't think Monrovia will make it as far as they did last year and we could potentially have to someone else this year.

| If The Rams make it out of Sectional then I see them facing a Mater Dei team that was young last year and has experience this year...Mater Dei has different weapons that The Rams won't face they have those big athletic fast recievers... big leg kicker who can kick the crap out of the ball and Mater Dei the Mater Dei passing game...also facing all of those 4A schools around Evansville doesn't hurt either...if The Rams advance on then you're gonna run into those Field Turf teams which last year cost The Rams a chance at a state title...I just think the deeper in the tournament The Rams go the tougehr faster the teams get and the more work The Rams will have to put in to win should be intersting...

| I had a chance to see Mater Dei play this year and they are a much different team than what we faced last year. They have a huge line and a number of talented receivers. Their running back is one of the best in the SIAC.
