| I think that qualifies as a mild upset. This is one that Rochester really needs and Athens must have. Home field should be large for the Hawks. Nice call Jake, I like it.

| Somehow in my 4 years at LOHS I never went to either of the 2 road games at Athens (last year I went to Dakota @ Stevenson instead). I have however heard that their home field advantage is great for having a mediocre program...is that true?

| Yeah Red, they have a sweet field and concessions but the crowd really gets into the spirit (like Rochester) and the student section is big and loud.

| Nice to hear Scouts. I know that the field is awesome because I was there for the last two semifinal games and also a couple of track meets. The track is nice lol...not that anyone cares. )
Good to hear the student section is good though...as one of the people who was always trying organize stuff for Lake Orion's (we finally succeeded if you saw the insanity at the LO/Clarkston basketball game last year)...it's always good to hear about loud student sections.

| We can look to history to see Athens home field advantage. In 2007, against Rochester none the less, the Red Hawks came into the week 4 meeting without a "real" victory (they later got a win due to forfeit). Rochester was 2-1 looking to jump out early in the season and make a possible playoff run. Troy Athens won that game at home, 41-23, dominating the whole time. That would be Athens only victory of the season and is potentially a reason Rochester finished 4-5. History knows all!! Best of luck to both teams on Friday

| Lets try this:
Clarkston 21 Pontiac 19 Troy 24 West Bloomfield 7 Rochester 28 Troy Athens 7
Adams 35 Southfield 14 Oxford 21 Stoney Creek 14 Farmington 35 Oak Park 14
Avondale 38 Seaholm 31
I am half tempted to pick Pontiac over Clarkston. If Pontiac starts to throw with those receivers, I think Clarkston could be in for a shoot out.

| I would not be suprised at all if W Bloomfield sprang the upset this week. Lot of talent on that team, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

| oaared - I was somewhat suprised how un-involved the student section was at the LO football game. There had to be a couple hundred of them standing there, but really did nothing the whole game. Give a call to some of your former classmates and have em ratchet up the intensity a little. That's to good of a program not too have some craziness in the student section.

| Yeah Jake unfortunately LOHS has never been a school to get excited for anything but the big games. It's too bad...but go back for the Clarkston @ LO matchup Week 9 and it will probably be louder.
During the '08 playoff run though, that was where it was at. I think at one point we had 5 straight wins that were decided in the last minute, great times in the student section then especially when we stormed the field @ Stevenson.

| Ok...with todays weather....what teams will be affected the most (ie. passing, specail teams, etc.).
I see some of these lines getting a little tighter now.....

| The most obvious one to me is that I probably wouldn't pick Clarkston by 20 over Pontiac anymore they're essentially where they were at the start of the season now without a passing game. I still think they'll win, but it will probably be closer.
Another one that came to mind was Rochester @ Athens, but then I decided both teams rely a lot on their passing games...

| I had those same games come to mind also.
I think the Clarkston/Pontiac game is almost even up now. I may have to move the edge to Pontiac for being a home game now.
Regarding the Rochester/Athens game, I feel even more solid in my pick of Rochester as they rolled up over 200+ yards last week rushing against Pontiac. That, with the fact that the only team to run successfully against Rochester has been LO.
I also think that Oxford has a better chance against SC as they run in the middle an aweful lot.
I am not sure if this really affects the Adams/Southfield game overall. Both teams run quite well.
