Well... it was bound to happen eventually, but for the first time in recent memory, Paoli fell at Cook Field. Not until the fumble on the 11 yard line did I feel we were out of it, and I suspect the same happened with the kids. Don't get me wrong... I feel we met a really good team and Corydon deserves the credit, but when we lost the football at the worst time and place, the air was let out of our sails so to speak.

We continued to make mistakes that can not be made against the good teams like this. I've said since the first game that penalties would kill us and that and turnovers were part of the factor.

Granted we gave up 21, and it could have been 28 if Corydon had pressed the issue, but with our scoring this year, I would have thought it would have been closer.

Now I must step back and take a look from this perspective... these are 16, 17, 18 yr old kids with a 6-1 record. Five/six years ago, we were as low as we could get. These kids and the group last year and the year before has built a reputation that we are a team that will not lay down. A team that will hit you and a team that is disciplined. They deserve that credit. Good teams lose sometimes, and I hope that none of our fans take any joy in our defeat. That would be very disappointing.

I suspect the coaching staff will make sure these kids bounce back for the next two weeks and I do believe we will have the PLAC title once again and a really good record going into sectional.

Go Rams!!!

I think the Rams have finally faced reality. These "cupcake" teams we have been playing have lulled us into a false sense of reality. We might be 6-1, but look at our opponents. Yes, our program is on the right track, but you are not going to get better when you play teams like Crawford County, Springs Valley, and Mitchell. Look at the Sagarin rankings of the Rams and then look at our opponents. What's going to happen when we finally meet a tough opponent. If you can't win at home, how are you going to win on the road when it is time for the playoffs?

A loss is a good thing and in a way it's good for The rams to lose to a good team during the regular season...Corydon came out blew the Rams off the ball and basically came out to kick the Rams' ass and pretty much did it...you can't teach speed and athletic ability and downm the road The Rams will have to understadn that there will be teams who will be more atheltic at certainspots or bigger at certain spots and they just need to learn that if their goal is the state championship then that's competition they will have to run over and not take them out to dinner...I was waching the game and when The Rams had gotten down I was waiting too see if The Rams would pass and if those times when they could pass against teams and didn't would come back to bite them in the but...and it honestly did...I was lookin for somethin more explosive out of the passing game but from the game management from the offensive coordinator didn't seem like we were willing to go that route...with a loss like this it creeps in doubt when you talk about beating a Brownstown or Providence in Sectional...I think I was dissapointed in the way the Rams just got beat down in this game and seemed lost when they were trying to come back...but there light at the end of the tunnel The Rams already share a piece of PLAC Conference Championship if they beat Perry would own it outright...maybe by that time heading into Sectional that will re start the Rams into a winning streak for some championships....

If it takes a loss to give you a wake-up call, then I guess it's good. Good teams don't need a wake-up call. They are ready for their competition. The simple fact is that our competition is very weak this year and you can have a perfect season by beating up on these teams. We just happened to run into a very competitive team and we weren't ready. Winning the PLAC is nice, but look how our conference make up gives a false sense of reality. We're going to have our jockstrap handed to us when we get out of this weak conference and face some major competition. I wouldn't even talk about championships at the present time. Brownstown took it on the chin this past weekend too. Predicting our future victories is not a good thing for anyone to do. East Greene is another example of a team we should beat, but gimme a break, why shouldn't we beat them. Look at their Sagarin Rating and the schedule stength of teams they play. Again, beating weak teams week in and out proves nothing.

Unless we drop out of the PLAC, we have to play Valley, Mitchell, and Crawford. As far as who we schedule, it is getting harder and harder to find teams outside our conference to play. I know that for a fact. With Silver Creek now in the Mid southern football conference, we are going to find it harder to play Salem and North Harrison.

Brownstown lost of Seymour, which had a 2-4 record going into the game. They had only won two games this season. That's taking it on the chin losing to them. As far as conference opponents, those two non-conference games are cupcakes. It is not critical that we play Salem. Why not go out and look to beef up our nonconference schedule. Go to Sagarin Ratings and look at our scheduled strength and those of our opponents and you will see what I mean. You can't play teams with the calibre of Crawford County and win everyweek and then boast about how good our team is.

Our schedule was just as "weak" last year and we made it to the semistate. The schedule is what it is. Instead of trashing them, why don't you try encouraging the boys. Maybe you are not aware a lot of them look at this forum. As hard as they work, negativity toward the program is not what they need to see.

gorams : I have to agree... like I stated above, these are 16 , 17, and 18 year old kids. And I know for a fact that these kids work their tails off.

Also, parents are on here too...

Did I say one thing negative about any of our players. The answer is NO! I am simply pointing jout that a successful record can be deceiving. Just because we had the same scheduled last year, does not mean you're gonna have the same team of players every year. You're right, a scheduled is what it is. I'm just pointing out that if we could schedule some non coneference teams that are more competitive, it will only help us. The one thing I would never do is criticize any player on any team. And, by the way, if they do read this forum, they need to know what the thinking is. It's not their fault with the schedule or the teams they face.

I would like to say it's nice to hear from OLDLB on these forums again it's been awhile...

as far as the schedule thing goes there was a point in time where the Rams lost 28 out of 30 games...struggled to beat anyone during that streak....so having watched that first hand it's nice to see The Rams win games these days...

Just also wanna mention that I like how you other Ram Fans have been posting on this forum...

Sup shizzy- I just didnt like how this fella says btown has taken one on the chin when we havnt. ha Our game vs seymour is a game either team can win no matter what the record is. The game has been decided by 4 or less points the last 3 yrs. The schools are 10 minutes apart, its a county rivalry, the kids know each other. Its a fun game to be apart of. The game really means nothing but bragging rights for both schools.

The term "chin" was simply meant to say that Brownstown "lost". If anyone loses, they take it on the "chin." Please try to be a little more sensitive about the use of these terms. That's a great intra-county rivalry. All of my comments on here have been meant to be positive and not negative at all. If you've been hurt or offended, relax a little.

Corydon was a strong team and very well coached. They had a game plan and they executed it well. They certanly had Paoli scouted well. After reading the stats it was easy to see they had the Rams number. I was also suprised to learn that Kameda and the Jones kid did not have one offensive touch the entire game. How does that happen?
