For those that were wondering if the Lake Orion offense could be stopped. The answer is …..YES ! Harrison’s defense smothered the Dragons all day long, shutting down Marques Stevenson, and causing QB Sean Charette to have one of the worst games of his career. In fact with 8 minutes to go, and his team needing two scores, coach Bell replaced Charette with backup Cole Schaenzer. The switch made little difference. Harrison continued to pressure the QB and stuffed the running lanes continuously. On offense Harrison was efficient and effective. QB Tommy Vento was given plenty of time from his O-line and was able to pick apart the Dragons defense. Vento’s favorite target was Aaron Burbridge, who seemed to be constantly open in the Dragons secondary. The Dragons had no answer for Burbridge, who was clearly the best player on the field. Not only was he a thorn in LO’s side on offense, but he also played DB, matching up most of the time with LO’s best WR Zach Zott. Harrison appears to be a very athletic team that’s not afraid to get physical. It would be very surprising if they don’t make it too Ford Field this year. Lake Orion came out flat, and appeared to be uninspired and unprepared for this big game. Definitely some work to be done before playoff time for the Dragons

an amazing thing about the Harrison Defense is their line is very undersized.... an average of about190-195, but they are very physical at every spot on D. They contolled the game for the most part and really shut down the big play LO back stevenson. Also, #16 was awesome for the hawks

LO will be fine for the playoffs. I doubt Charette will have another day like he had today. Missing wide open receivers is not his norm. And yes #16 for Harrison was very impressive. Best player I've seen this yr. Think the loss will be good for LO. They seemed like they were playing too fast. Maybe that's what was wrong w/ Charette, he has to slow the game down. That's what happens when you havn't played any game that's been competitive.

So does that mean Troy "shut down" Marques Stevenson by loading the box and challenging Sean Charette? He was less effective in that game than he was today. I'm really really sorry, but I don't think there was any domination going on today. Harrison's QB threw a couple boneheaded INTs against a supposedly weak secondary, AND they fumbled a couple times in their own territory. No one will mention FHH sloppiness, probably because LO's sloppiness trumps it. They had a million.5 chances and Charette repeatedly threw passes at the dirt in front of his receivers.

Uninspired and unprepared? Maybe. Perhaps I'm being too harsh, but to me they looked like they played scared and intimidated. Something I didn't think I'd ever say about a Lake Orion football team. Wouldn't have mattered though, with the athletes and playmakers that Harrison has, you can play that game 10 times and Lake Orion might only win 1 or 2 !! Harrison is that good, and should make a deep playoff run. Lake Orion will be fine, but if they plan on a trip to Ford Field they need to make some serious adjustments, especially on defense.

Lake Orion coaching staff is confusing at times. Why did Stevenson only touch the ball three times in the 2nd half ? The way they are using Ney this year is baffling. This kid was good for 70+ yards through the air and on the ground last year. This year he rarely gets his number called. Instead they have a kid that doesn't even have a name on his back or is on the roster(I'm assuming a JV call up) running the end around and he fumbles. Does coach bell overthink things sometimes?

LO needs to regroup and get prepared for an OAA red title game against Clarkston next week. Sometimes a loss is good for a team. Humbles 'em abit. Hopefully that happens for LO. Time to get back to working hard on the practice field and in the film room.

I'm still trying to figure out what game OAAwhatever was watching??? Boneheaded throws? He ate the LO defense alive. He made 1 poor decision with a pass - he was 11-11 in the first half. I understand you may not be a FHH fan, but at least be respectful in your comments. Not sure what team you support, but FHH is the ONLY 8-0 team in the OAA. The FHH D, while undersized, used their speed and physical play to shut down their running game and pressure their QB. Special teams for FHH also gave them some decent field position. An all around very good game - and FHH did not play to their potential. They played better against Adams then they did against LO. They're still improving.

Nay didn't even dress last week against Athens. He's been injured. Think that's why they called the jv player up. Anyway this makes the Clarkston matchup even more important now. Can't wait.

The game I saw today, Harrison totally dominated. At no point after the first FHH touchdown did I feel Lake Orion had a chance to win this game. LO's defense in the 2nd half was much better than it was in the first half, however that is somewhat due to the much more conservative play calling by FHH. Both teams played sloppy at times and made mistakes, turnovers, penalties. Lake Orion just failed to capitalize on Harrison's mistakes, and alot of that has to do with the strength of the Harrison D. Anyway you slice it, Harrison was the better team today.

I agree with you Jake. After that first drive I thought FHH would be able to move the ball whenever they wanted. They struggled only when they got conservative. The game did get sloppy with turnovers and way too many yellow flags. FHH was just way to fast for LO
