Wyatt Walker Born: May Parents Brad & Tammy Walker Uncle: Kyle Walker
I know that most of you in the softball community know Brad and/or Kyle...hell, some of you have tried to lure them away from the Clubbers to play for your teams lol..but let me give you a little more insight into what is going on with their family...
Wyatt, Brad, & Tammy could use a little help, and I think the softball community can give them some assistance. Wyatt has been home less than 48 Hours since he was born in May. The rest of his young life has been spent at Children's Hospital in St. Louis fighting for that life. He has undergone various surgeries and treatments while in the hospital and will probably have more in the future. Brad and Tammy have been unable to work, and have taken up lodging in St. Louis area so they can be there for Wyatt. Wyatt will eventually come home, but he will require 24 hour care for the rest of his life. Brad & Tammy have accepted this challenge with the love only a parent can have for their child. (If you want to see what the smile of a parent with undying love for their child looks like...just look at Tammy's smile in the picture above!) Of course none of this care up to now (and in the future) comes for free...the medical cost are near (if not exceeding) 2 MILLION DOLLARS! Then of course, there is the every day costs of living!
There are "Wyatt's Warriors" wristbands for sale at a cost of $5 each....I am asking that all who have played with, for, against me or any of the Clubber players, to at least purchase a wristband. But better yet....help sell wristbands and to help/participate in the wiffleball tournament. How cool would it be to see all the players in Southern Illinois and every tournament we go to, wearing a "Wyatt" bracelet? We (the softball community) can make that happen. I would also like to see all of you donate at least $20 to this cause.
Every now and then we get a chance to do something that makes us feel really good about ourselves...this is one of those times.
