| For those who haven't heard, we are still Class "C." This was determined by the State at the November meeting, without any comments from us. I specifically told a few board members we don't care either way, but they decided we are the epitomy of "town ball" and deserve to be in "C." They said we (and our fans) are great for the State Tournament too.
We tried voting Shroom in as L&P President but Reggie Kiser got it instead. Puck was edged out in Coach of the Year by Jim Runyan of Verndale.
Walker (Walleyes) has joined the North, we have 11 teams total now. They say they have 26 players interested in playing. They will be playing in Walker & Akeley. Apparently Walker has a new field.
No other team changes.
We are looking for a 12th team, then we would go for 3 divisions of 4. Bemidji Blue Ox is a possible addition, and there are rumors of Bluffton or Bertha being talked to.
There is a Region meeting in January, we are going to discuss possible realignment - especially if we have that 12th team. Jorgy has always wanted to have the Hi Ten & Countryside as 1 Region. So the geographically ideal Regions would be L&P North + L&P South + Resorters East, and Hi Ten + Countryside + Resorters West. Even better would be to take all teams involved and re-arrange everything geographically but there is no way the other Region people would go for that. And it makes it more work for teams to comply to the state when changing leagues because you need new contracts if you change leagues (even if we went from the North to the South).
L&P schedule is probably going to be 2 games vs. your league and 1 vs. opposite league. That would be 15 league games for us. And it sounds like Menahga doesn't want to use the lights next year because of that 1-time fee for turning them on at the beginning of the year. So we would lose 2 games there at least, which means 2 more Saturdays and could eliminate possible exhibitions with other teams. More scheduling TBD.
Tournaments for next year we plan on going to are the Moorhead tourney in mid-May, Stearns County in early-June, and Nimrod tourney in late-June.
As of now, we can only have 20 players signed at all times. We shouldn't have a problem because they go off last year's playoff roster and we only had 16 I think. The State Board granted 11 teams to go from "B" to "C" but they said to those teams if they "load up" or add any particular players they would be moved up to "B" again. We don't plan on adding any outside players due to these rules. Any additions would be Midway minor-leaguers.
The new draft rule is 1 pitcher out of the league, and 1 out of the region. Draftees will not be able to hit at all.
There is a new college rule, that is if a player uses his college address to get in the radius for a team, that team is automatically moves to "B." All current players are grandfathered in. This obviously doesn't affect us.
The State is planning on launching a new website in January, along with requesting that each team use a website through their provider so they can check scores, standings, stats, and have contact information readily available. This will make it more consistent for teams if they use the same provider. If that happens, we will use the new one and a link will be posted at the top of this home page.
The State is planning on having realignment for 2012. The plan would be to move the top 64 "C" teams to a 2nd class, which we would be in. They couldn't do it for this year because it would have too much affect on Leagues and Regions.
That's about it for State & League happenings, for those who haven't heard all this already.
Oh ya, we are reigning state champs

| No F-M tournament for Shakopee. Too many guys whined that if our 2 best pitchers don't go they won't make the trip.
Get the state board to let me come back and we can play class "B". That's where you should be playing anyway.
