The teams weren't about to let an ice storm delay the start of the winter indoor league another week! Despite bad weather and slick conditions, Wednesday night saw the start of the 2011 GCFFA Winter 7-man Indoor League at the United Athletic Center.

6:00
South side Raiders 24
CT Cowboys 8

Both defenses set the tone for the game early as the squads exchanged safeties on 3 of the first 5 possessions. The Raiders offense, led by QB Brian Chouinard and WR Terry Smith found their rhythm and the two connected on a pair of TD passes to lead the Raiders to victory.

Player of the Game: Raiders DE, Abby Johnson (3 sacks, 1 safety)

7:00
Old School 24
Sharks 6

The now veteran Old School squad used a two QB system to cause fits versus an outmanned Sharks team. Jerome Mitchell and Pete Torrez rotated between QB an WR, both finding each other on scoring strikes, making it look easy.

Player of the Game: Old School NG, Jaime Minicuchi (3 sacks)

8:00
Playmakers 27
Chargers 20

This game went back and forth with both teams trading score for score in the final minute. After the Chargers took a 20-19 lead with less than 50 seconds to go, Playmakers QB Rob Servidas used his arm and legs to get his team back in the end zone and hold on to victory.

Player of the Game: Playmakers QB, Rob Servidas (2 TD's rushing, 2 TD's passing)

9:00
Southington Knights 7
Unknowns 0
(Forfiet by Unknowns)

Only 5 Unknowns braved the conditions, forcing their squad to take a forfeit loss to the Knights.

NOTE:
ANOTHER FORFIET BY THE UNKOWNS WILL RESULT IN THEIR DISMISSAL FROM THE LEAGUE WITHOUT REFUND
