| The temeratures were very cold but the energy on the field was on fire as the first 3 games came down to the final minute. The 2nd week of the season is in the books and we have a 3-way tie atop the standings and what many considered a pre-season favorite sitting at 0-2.
6:00 Southside RAIDERS 21 Waterbury's OLD SCHOOL 15
This game has quickly become one of the most physical, personal and heated rivalries on the schedule no matter where they play. Both teams came out on fire, trading big play for big play, TD for TD, and safety for safety. When Raiders QB Brian Chouinard connected with WR Terry Smith with 3 minutes left to tie the score, the game looked destined for OT, but after a defensive stand got him the ball back, Chouinard drove down the field and found RB Reggie Hunter for the go ahead score with less than a minute to play. Old School was led by QB Jerome Mitchell and WR Danny Awudd
Player of the Game: Raiders QB, Brian Chouinard (3 TD's passing)
7:00 CT COWBOTS 25 Bristol SHARKS 14
The Sharks, led by solid play from QB Phil Cushon quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead over the lax Cowboys. Apparently that was all the wake-up the Cowboys needed, well that and the decision to put Justin Walters at WR. Walters flew by defenders on his way to 3 full field scoring bombs and 25 unanswered points. The Cowboys better rest up as they have a very angry 0-2 team ahead on the schedule.
8:00 Southington KNIGHTS 18 New Haven CHARGERS 13
Many people stuck around to see what most billed as the clash of the titans in the 8:00 game......and many people left at the half as the veteran Knights jumped all over the Chargers and took 1n 18-0 lead into the break. The Chagers new recruits settled in and made a game of it in the second half with 2 scores of their own bringing to 18-13, but a missed opportunity on a gimme INT allowed the Knights to run out the clock and preserve the win. Knighjts QB Jon Esmail tossed TD passes to 3 different receivers to lead the Knights
Player of the Game: Knights QB, Jon Esmail (3 TD's passing)
9:00 Naugatuck PLAYMAKERS 34 Watertown UNKOWNS 7
Most people were happy to see the Unknowns were able to field a squad (including the Unknowns), but the remaining smiles all belonged to the Playmakers as they scored at will and from both sides of the ball in the blowout victory. After 2 weeks the Playmakers have lived up to their name and feature the leagues top scoring offense.
Player of the Game: Playmakers QB, Rob Servidas (4 total TD's)
