| Team photo night was a success as 7 0f the 8 teams were in full uniform (photos will be ready in a few days)and for the second week in a row, 2 games came down to the final play, including an overtime thriller that ended on a trick play extra point conversion. There seems to be more parity in the league then originally expected and some of the younger teams are coming out stronger each week. With 3 games left in the regular season teams will be fully loaded as they battle for playoff spots and a possible first round bye for the top 2 seeds!
6:00 Waterbury's OLD SKOOL 20 Watertown UNKNOWNS 19
The Unknowns had a full squad this week, many of who are "known" former Ballpark players and looked much better than last week but it wasnt enough as Old Skool held on for the W. Three straight weeks and 3 straight games decided on the last play of the game should make Old Skool very resiliant come playoffs. The two headed QB attack led the way again as Jerome Mitchell and Pete Torres combined for to throw 3 TD's in the win.
Player of the Game: Jerome Mitchell, QB/WR OLD SKOOL (2 TD's passing and 1 TD recieving)
7:00 New Haven CHARGERS 26 CT COWBOYS 15
The Chargers and Cowboys know each other pretty well, having scrimmaged each other earlier in the winter and with a few Cowboys being former Charger originals the game had a rivalry feel despite being there 1st ever meeting. The Cowboys struck first on another Justin Walters TD catch but it was pretty much all Chargers from then on as the scored 4 straight TD's before a late Cowboy safety and TD made it close.
Player of the Game: Chargers CB, Rich Kirkland (1 INT for a TD, 4 PBU's)
8:00 Southington KNIGHTS 27 Southside RAIDERS 26 ***OVERTIME***
To say these two teams dont like each other is a bit of an understatement. The histiry between the 2 squads runs deep and emotions are very high when they meet, but both teams kept it football and played easily the best game of the season so far as the KNIGHTS came from behind to steal a 27-26 victory. After a bad snap caused a safety tying the score at 14 the teams alternated spectacular TD's in the final minute of the game forcing OT. The Raiders scored first but could not convert leaving the door open for the Knights. Ish then decided to go wildcat with Adomis "Pito" Gonzalez who on the first play left southside falling down as he shook his way into the endzone. After eluding a heavy rush on the point after Pito then found Ish in the endzone with a bullet pass that threaded the needle. GAME OVER!!
Player of the Game: Knights WR Adamis "Pito" Gonzalez (1 Td rushing, 1 TD receiving, game winning Xtra point pass)
9:00 Naugatuck PLAYMAKERS 26 Bristol SHARKS 2
Its looking like the Playmakers have this indoor thing pretty much figured out as they cruise for a third straight week. Its going to get a little more difficult in the 2nd half of the season as they have upcoming games vs the Raiders, Knights and Cowboys but with MVP candidate Rob Servidas at the helm and the leagues top defense(pts allowed) they look up to the task. Servidas again scored 4 TD's and the defense was led by the pass rush of. I like what I see out of the Sharks though as they hung tough and seem like a very tight group........keep the team together and add a few pieces and this young team has some upside.
Player of the Game: Playmakers QB, Rob Servidas (4 TD's)
