| As many of you know, Antwon (CFFL) and I have met in the last 2 days to at least have an open discussion of our two leagues working together. To what extent and the format is not yet decided but we both agree that some type of compromise or understanding needs to be reached for the betterment of the game.
These are some of the different options we have discussed, we may or may not do one of them for the spring......it is just 1 week away, or possibly begin planning for the fall to impliment.
I would like as much feedback as possible and putting your name and team on your reply's would help tremendously.
OPTION 1
NO MERGER WHATSOEVER
Hartford and Waterbury would remain seperate indipendant leagues with there own playoffs and champions. Teams would have a chance to play each other in the Annual "King of CT" tournament held in August. We would make the event a joint venture between the leagues (50/50)
OPTION 2.........(.mERGER a OR mERGER b)
MERGER A (Playoffs Only)
DIVISIONS
---Waterbury will have 3 divisions, Hartford will have 5 divisions
---Divisions will Be balanced based on last year teams successes
---Teams will play their each team in their division once
INTER LEAGUE
---NO Interleague Games Regular Season
PLAYOFFS
---Waterbury will have 3 divisions. 2 divisions in the “AFC” and 1 division the “NFC to ensure playoffs mix totaling 3 “guaranteed” playoff spots out of 12 available
---Hartford will have 5 divisions..2 in the AFC and 3 in the NFC totAling 5 “guranteed PLAYOFF spots out of 12 available
PRO PLAYOFFS A
---Division Winners will receive automatic Playoff bid Next 4 best records in each confference (8 Total)will fill rest of “Pro” Bracket
B DIVISION PLAYOFFS
---next 12 best records any league
---2, 22 minute halfs
C DIVISION PLAYOFFS
---next 12 best records any league
---2 ,20 minute halfs
MERGER B (1 week inter league play)
DIVISIONS
---Waterbury will have 3 divisions, Hartford will have 5 divisions
---Divisions will Be balanced based on last year teams successes
---Teams will play their each team in their division once Inter League
---Waterbury's top 12 seeds will play Hartfords top 12 seeds thgis week...
---1vs1...2vs2... etc etc... based on the current standings in the league...
---teams not in top 12 in current standings will play regualar“In League” schedule
PRO DIVISION A PLAYOFFS
---Division Winners will receive automatic Playoff bid
---Next 4 best records in each confference (8 Total)will fill rest of “Pro” Bracket
B DIVISION PLAYOFFSD
---next 12 best records any league
---2, 22 minute halfs
C DIVISON PLAYOFFS
---next 12 best records any league
---2 ,22 minute halfs
OPTION 3
Each league mantains their own schedule and status.
One week in the season (predetermined), would be designated as a cross-over or rivalry week. Format simiar to above, where the current standings at that time will dictate the match-ups. For example, we take the standings at the end of week 6 and create the week 7 schedule with Waterbury #1 vs Hartford #1, Waterbury #2 vs Hartford #2 and so on down the line.
The playoffs are held independently.........
PLAYOFF SCENARIO #1
Complete each playoff, crowning seperate league champions then have each leagues final 4 teams play an addition playoff to crown a state champion. This would be a single say playoff with the seeding as follows
W1 vs H4 W2 vs H3 W3 vs H2 W4 vs H1
Winners advance to semi-finals and then Championship.

| JUST WANTED TO CLEAR THINGS UP ABOUT THE "DIVISIONS".. THEY WOULD ESSENTIALLY BE "POOLS" JUST LIKE THE MCFFU DOES THEIR SEEDING...uSUALLY THE BEST RECORD IN the "pool" in MCFFU tournments advance to Sundays pro division bracket
Just like in this division scenario.... the winner of our "pools" will get a pro division playoff spot
Chris and i will try to seed the "pools" just as the MCFFU would if he and i come to an agreement... They dont have to be called divisions
Again this is no different than how the MCFFU does it when selecting brackets and determining who enters sundays pro division

| how about you have waterbury league as NFC, split that league up into NFC-East,west,north, and south. if they dont have enough teams in there league to have 4 nfc divisions take some of the out of state teams and all the other teams that are not hartford or new britain and add them to there division.
have hartford/new britain teams in the hartford league and split us up into 4 divisions.
have afc/nfc play atleast 6games in our conference and the rest of the games against the opposite conference just so we can have a few waterbury vs hartford rivalry games.
top 6 teams in each conference make pro playoffs and the rest have their own playoffs.
maybe have some kind of poll where you have players vote other players on an afc/nfc allstar roster a week before the playoffs and have an allstar game a week before the championship AFC vs. NFC style
and if new teams want to join in the future they can choose whatever conference they want. if they want to join the waterbury conference then they pay chris league fees, if they want to be on afc then they pay cash league fees
just my idea, dont try to bash on my idea, i think my idea is great and would draw more interest in this league. cash and chris would bring Connecticut Flag Football to a new level in my opinion

| Amos that's not a good idea to have people decide which fee they want to pay besides if it's a merger don't you think the fee would be the same???????

| Just to be clear, and Antwon feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but no matter what happens with this merger or agreement..........money (team fees, prizes, etc) are not an issue at all. I think its pretty clear that we both put a lot into our products already. We are looking at a few scenarios and I have been talking to many of my leagues players and captain gaining input. Even if we can't find a perfect solution immediatly it will not be because either of us are concerned w/ the money. I just want to be sure we do what is best for all and for the long run, not just throw something together so we can say "hey look at us we have 30+ teams". It has to make sense across the board

| so far i think all the ideas sound like they are headed in the right direction... i suggest starting off simple as possible.. then tweak n workout the lil things later...
waterbury afc... htfd nfc... interconference play not until playoffs..
tops in each division make playoff n then a playin type wild card to get seeding...
conferences no longer matter in playoffs...
divisions determined by where u finish last year... no rabbit outta the hat... this way u avoid so called stacked division
start interconference play n rivalry week next year or in the fall
basically jus get this great idea movin...
good shit on both sides gettin rid of the b.s and puttin this on the table

| outsider that is my favorite idera too... just have waterbury play their schedule and divisions and just all meet in the end for now... im going to work on an actual factual schedule and divisions/pools this morning and will release it soon.
Yes this isnt a money issue ...its very easy to make a 30 team league...you just have to make the schedule...But this is to stop the talk about whos best and who did what...and put everyone in the same league..Its easy to put evryone in the same league.... the problem is some team or teams may feel threatened as now it gets much harder to make and succeed or even get the chip. You now hav about a 3% chance to win the State Chips... Giving it way more value.
In prior leagues you had as much as a %25 percent chance to win the chip (1in$... well see whos the best now lol
