| wHEN THEY CREATED THE leagues... they didnt say all teams in the west will play the team in the east for the chapionshiop... (except for the NBA where west plays east)
no they created it so that they put some teams on both cooast in each conference
so if we were creating 1 league... im saying lets do like the NFL, MLB, NHL... and spread the locations out in both conferences.... understand?
format is the same!

| yes but they all play each other in those conferences. every team plays each other in their conference your saying hartford teams in the NFC wont play Waterbury teams in the NFC. which isnt right
the only reason NFL doesnt do it is beacause not enough games. which is an exception that we dont have to accommodate

| no you dont you play maybe 6 out of 16 teams in the conference as shank posted on another post.. which means there ate 10 teams in you conference that you dont play
6 teams are 3 division.. other 3 are in conference... every other game is random and doesnt matter

| MLB: every team in its prospective league plays every other team in that league at least 2 times (home and away)
NBA: Any given team will play every opposite conference team twice, and then they play ten in-conference teams four times (included in those ten is every team in that teams division) then they play the remaining four teams three times,(two from eachof the in-conference other division teams reamaining)
NHL: Here's the breakdown:
6 games vs. teams in their division (6x4=24)
4 games vs. teams from other two divisions in the conference (4x10=40)
1-2 games vs. each team from the other conference (18 games against 15 teams)
24+40+18=82
The best 8 teams in each conference make the playoffs. 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc. The winner of each conference plays each other in the Stanley Cup Final. The winner of that is the winner if the NHL that year.

6 games are played in division= 3 teams
3 other conference games as you just stated=3 teams

| # teams in your division 2 x = 8
4 teams from another divison =4
8 teams in your conference leaving 8 unplayed.
4 teams from an AFC divison = 4
total =16 games played
If they played 18 games a proposed they would be against 2 other NFC opponents making it 10 games out of the 16 in your conference. This is the only league to not play all the teams in your conference because they only play 16 games a year.
