| Softball Canada's 2011 provincial men's and women's slo-pitch championships will be on July 8, 9, and 10 at Meadowview Ball Park (1 Meadowview Drive, St. Albert). This should feature some high-calibre ball, so I would encourage people to go see some games if they can (there is probably a nominal gate admission fee, but I'm not sure).
Last year's champs on the women's side was the Edmonton Sparqs, and they went on to win gold at nationals. There are some very good softball players in the area!

| I am led to believe that this is no admission fee to this (slo-pitch isn't a big enough draw to warrant that), so if people are interested in coming out to see some high-calibre slo-pitch, then come on out. The game times can be found on the Softball Alberta website:

Scroll to the bottom and find the entry for Senior Men & Women SP in the table. Links to the draws are on the far right. Men's games start at 1:00 PM on the Friday, and women's games start at 5:00 PM also on the Friday. There are a total of 7 men's teams and 4 women's teams entered.

| Well, that was disappointing. The entire championships were cancelled this morning due to too much rain. Softball Alberta will try to reschedule for August, but who knows where or when? Very disappointing.
