| 1. YOUNG GUNZ.......The GUNZ are flying high coming off a huge statement win in the MCFFU Eastern Nationals at Virginia Beach, VA. They are the total package that can dominate all 3 facets of the game. QB Chris Roberts has fully transitioned to the flag game and the GUNZ have continued to add key personel as they build steam for a run in Florida in January. They will be challenged but are the clear favorite until proven otherwise.
2. KNIGHTS.....Coming off a dominate spring campaign and an almost unprecedented double championship, the KNIGHTS are looking to win a premier event and with the talent in this one they can finally solidify themselves as one of CT's best all-time teams. The offense is as potent as any in the game and it starts with a very good O-line. QB Jon Esmail has a ton of weapons at WR as well as playmakers at teh TE and RB position. If they can put pressure on opposing QB's they will be nearly unstoppable
3. STEELERS.......The youth movement seems to have paid off for the STEELERS as they have gotten faster and stronger on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively Rocket is a problem wherever he lines up but I still feel they are more dangerous with a pocket passer and lining Rocket up at slot. If you dont have a veteran O-Line that can communicate well it will be a long day for your offense vs the STEEL CURTAIN "D". The defending KING of CT champs have always proven to be a money game team so expect to see them battling in the end.
4. TROJANS........The TROJANS have slowly climbed into talks of the elite teams in CT and in league play are a force to be reckoned with. Tournaments on the hand have been a bit of a different story. A fully loaded squad is definitely capable of reaching the Chip but they always seem to be missing pieces in tourny play. This weekend showed theyre vulnerabilities without a legitimate 2nd receiver besides Boobie. If CJ cant go and Sunshine isnt there they will struggle vs top defenses. On the flip side their defense has been very good and should give them a shot, especially if they can get a consistent pass rush.
5. CHARGERS......The CHARGERS are a bit different then most teams here because they really never focused on league ball until this year. A great D-line and a veteran secondary usually put them in position to win games. The problem seems to be that tehy are young at the most important places (QB and OL). If they dont upgrade here or these guys dont mature quickly they wont beat the top 4. It looked as though they have gotten better as the year has gone on and if they come with their travel squad could be a sleeper
6. BULLDOGS......this may be on reputation alone as the BULLDOGS have looked anything but great this year. If reports are true that they are losing key players to the GUNZ and KNIGHTS it could be a wrap for this once proud team. If I had to guess though these guys will stick together as they are as tight a group off the field as any. If Cervezzi is healthy and the twins are a go they can get back to the top with a good weekend in the KING of CT.
7. HAVOC.........unkown to most teams outside of Hartford, this Holyoke based squad is as solid as they come. A ground it and pound it type squad they move the chains in a smash mouth style and mix in a solid play action attack. Overall chemistry, speed and toughness make them a a threat to crack the final 4. If they are able to get the horses together to make the trip for the KING of CT they could open the eyes and send home a few unsuspecting foes.
8. GATORS.......the GATORS 3.0 are not your uncles TAILGATORS but the new group, along with some veteran leadership is not far away from being a contender yet again. Solid QB play from Joey Edmonds and a usually fierce defense are the keys for this squad. They need to get big time playmaker Kenny Tinney healthy for an entire weekend and tighten up at the corners of the D in order to get over the hump. Expect the vets to get the team ready to play as they are in their back yard and will let you know it. 9. BEARCATS.......lights, cameras, action......or so they say as QB Josh Spence leads what many have said is as good a passing attack as any in CT flag. We will see about that when they tangle with ALL the big boys in this one. Overall I dont know a lot about the squad but they have struggled in recent playoff opportunities and that is not a good sign for a team looking to play in a tournament of this caliber
10. WARRIORS.........the WARRIORS are still trying to shake the "baby Knights" brand and have come a long way in doing so this spring. They are young, disciplined and fast but still are a ways away from being a contender in such a deep event. I expect them to knock off atleast one of the top teams but to put together 3 or 4 wins in a row is to much to ask right now. Look for playmakers Tyler Dube and Tyler Chamberlain to make names for themselves in the spotlight.
11. OILERS.........Coach Bombe has the OILERS reloaded and ready to go, and get this, they are playing in the PRO Division! The Oilers are a tough and physical team who can also match speed with most clubs. Word is they may be without star safety Mo Taylor but that wont slo them down from proving they are ready for the PRO Division.
12. POOKIES.......Waterbury's version of Havoc are a talented bunch with a veteran QB who can flat out throw the ball. Unlike their Springfield counterparts this team is not as polished or fine tuned but that is because this was their first spring back in action in 2 years. They have the athletes to play with anyone but discipline, and the ability to make adjustments will keep this team from making to much noise in this one.
13. BEECH RAIDERS........the BEECH RAIDERS have rebuilt what once was one of Hartfords best teams and have taken a bite out of more than one of the best teams Hartford has to offer this year. Jose "Popi" Santiago leads the offense that features a gamebreaker in the backfield and a few speedy wideouts who will keep defenses honest. The x-factor for this team may be their ability to covert FG's as shown in their come from behind victory over the High Rollers this past weekend. K, Mike Flaherty nailed a 39 yarder to end the game and send the RAIDERS to the semi's. 14. CANES.........the GCFFA's Open Champions are looking tom prove they are ready to move on up in the flag world. Word is they have added several memebers of the Southside raiders as well as recruited a much needed LT to protect oft-injured QB Moe Ramos' blindside. Its going to be a tough event for the CANES but one where they can build a lot of confidence going into the fall with a good showing
15. FRANCHISE........from what I have seen this team isnt far from being very good. They have very good speed, decent line play and a veteran coach who knows flag as awell as any. If they can lock up a legitimate QB they are on their way to being a top team in CT, if not, tehy will be just another speed bump for the big boys to roll over

| Without Felix and Foray the Knights don't make the chip.
The Trojans can't beat the Knights, Gunz or Steelers
Bulldogs are a hot mess
Steelers own everyone, except the GUNZ
Chargers are too slow and the qb isn't ready for this
Havoc won't even make the trip and if they do they will lose 14-0 to the steelers.
Everyone else need not apply
GUNNAZ AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I agree. Not one of those teams can beat the Steelers. Knights Bulldogs or Havoc. Correct steelers own everyone else except the Gunz.
Young Gunz VS. Knights in the ship. Young Gunz revenge their loose in the CFFL playoffs.
Difference maker = YGz Deffense is NUTSSSS right now. especially with those young & fast as corners locking up every WR that lines up on them. Then the chemistry that they have will avenge that lose !

| Felix and gotay are very good players but when they play with the Knights they are role players just like the rest of are studs. Therefore next guys in line will step up and make plays. If we dont win this tourny it has nothing to do with 1 or 2 players.

| That sounds good 7 but the fact is those 2 guys can put a very good team into great status. Knights are a final 4 team regardless but I can't see them winning it all

| Very true 7. Felix and Gotay are more than roll players though. They can change a game & make a Deffense one of the best. The proof is there. but they will not be the diff. in the Knights winning or loosing. I hear what ur saying but getting in where u fit in sounds better. There is an abundance of talent out there that can help both of these teams stay as an ELITE team for yrs to come. Knights still lack the experience in this these National Tournaments.

| Got mad love for Felix and Gotay. They didnt take the Vikings over the top. The Gunz won with them and without them. We won with them and without them. Theres alot of good football players out there. Nobody talked about Felix and Gotay being irreplaceable and unbelievable until they were a part of our defense and won and when they left to the gunz they became immortal. When they were balling on our team we knew they were valuable to us but people werent saying oh its because Felix and Gotay. Teams like us are like the Pittsburgh Steelers and New england Patriots. Were goign to be good because our core is so tight, and guys buy into a great product.
