To the powers that be:

You do know it's supposed to be 95 today, right? Seems like the rainout call was made a bit prematurely. So what if games don't start on time. There is no reason for us to be completely cancelled today.

You obviously don't know how much it rained in Cahokia...

The policy has always been that if the first game on a game date is rained out they all are. My opinion is that we should try to change this. However, to prepare a field that is unplayable at one point in a day takes a lot more than one person. Unfortunately we only have one person who is dedicated to working on the field. To allow for other games to be played on the same date as a cancellation will require setting up of either more people to work on the field or a volunteer team of guys who are designated to assist Dan N. with getting the field ready.
If each team had players that were "assigned" to this volunteer group then we would have the manpower needed. I mean if there was only one guy from each team that would total 8 guys to prep the field (with Dan N. of course).
Its just an idea, thoughts?

I nominate B. Kollack to represent our team for field work.

There is no hard and fast policy on rain outs. The day of two or three people working their ass off for the benefit of the many are over, Saturday, the field could not have been worked until late afternoon. The 530 game may have been playable.

As for moving time slots no one considers the umpires. They have schedules also. They do not just do our games.

Linc your idea has been proposed before and that is about as far as it has gotten. Besides, it is just another thing I would have to co-ordinate. My plate is pretty full and I can't afford that many diapers.

8'er is not me. As you may recognize from prior posts, I post exclusively as "Linck" so there is no confusion.

If I was gonna bring up an old idea it would be a tarp or perhaps some kind of animal sacrifice to the rain godall shaman style. Those get kind of messy though.
