FALL BALL DETAILS
$300 PER TEAM
6 WEEK SEASON - DOUBLEHEADERS = 12 GAMES
1 WEEK SINGLE ELIMINATION, SEEDED PLAYOFF

THE $300 COVERS BALLS AND UMPS FOR THE SEASON, NO PLAYER FEE. LAST YEAR WAS $275 BUT I FORGOT THE REGISTRATION FEE OF $25 PER TEAM. THE LEAGUE PAID THAT FOR EVERY TEAM LAST YEAR BECAUSE I POSTED THE COST AND THEN REALIZED THE ERROR A WEEK LATER AND WE HAD THE SURPLUS TO COVER IT. THIS YEAR, THE ADJUSTMENT HAS BEEN MADE.

IF WE DON'T HAVE RAIN, THE SEASON WILL START 9/25.
8/21 LAST WEEK OF REGULAR SEASON
8//28 PLAYOFFS WEEK ONE
9/4 LABOR DAY NO GAMES, BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH UMPIRE AVAILABILITY
9/11 PLAYOFFS WEEK TWO
9/18 CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND
9/25 FALL BALL STARTS

SIX WEEK SEASON AS USUAL BRINGS US TO END OF OCTOBER, PLAYOFF WEEKEND FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER.

IF WE DECIDE AT THE FALL BALL MEETING TO SHORTEN THE SEASON, THE PRICE WILL DECREASE ACCORDINGLY.

WE USE SUMMER RULES - NO STATS, NO FIELD LINING, AND LAST YEAR WE HAD ROSTER LIMITS OF 25

LAST YEAR ROSTERS WERE DUE BY THE THIRD WEEK, I THINK THAT WILL BE MOVED UP THIS YEAR TO WEEK ONE, SO START MAKING ARRANGEMENTS.

ALL NON SUMMER PLAYERS MUST FILL OUT A WAIVER AND HAVE IT IN A BOARD MEMBERS HANDS BEFORE THEY TAKE THE FIELD.

ANY OTHER RULES YOU WOULD LIKE CHANGED OR CONSIDERED, MUST BE BROUGHT TO YOUR MANAGER FOR THE FALL BALL MEETING/PLAYOFF MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONDAY AT 700 AT THE PNA, ALL TEAMS MUST ATTEND (SUMMER AND FALL - FALL TEAMS NEED TO BRING AT LEAST $100 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT)

I also have one outside new team interested. The importance of the deposits on Monday allows me to invite new teams and get the full 16 teams scheduled immediately. If we don't have 16 teams, 6 teams would have byes and only get 10 fall games.

Please post/email your intent so I can continue to make plans.

Hi Ian-

I am interested in joining a men's softball team. I live in Richmond RI. I have played for years in CT and in northern RI leagues at Hank Soars field, Clegg field ect. I would be willing to try out for a team. I can play in a fall league if needed. If you know of any teams that may need a guy I feel I could be an asset to a team.

13 teams verbally committed.
eaton and wyld are most likely 14 and 15.

id like to keep d12 and the tacos which would bring us to 17. the nk team would be 18.

the cost wouldn't change if we operated at 16, 18, or 20...each team is covering their cost.

we have to have an even number of 16/18/20 in order for the league to operate evenly.

THE SCHEDULE THE LAST TWO YEARS HAS SPLIT THE LEAGUE INTO A TEAMS AND B TEAMS AND RUN ON 3 "A TEAM" OPPONENTS AND 3 "B TEAM" OPPONENTS. PLEASE DISCUSS WITH YOUR TEAMS BEFORE MONDAY'S MEETING. WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP THE SAME OR GO TO A COMPETITIVE SCHEDULE - MEANING IF YOU ARE AN "A TEAM" YOU PLAY 6 "A TEAMS" AND A "B TEAM" PLAYS 6 "B TEAM" OPPONENTS. THAT WILL AFFECT PLAYOFF SEEDING AS AN "A TEAM" COULD BE 12-0 AND A "B TEAM" COULD BE 12-0.

PLEASE CONSIDER SCHEDULES AND PLAYOFF OPTIONS FOR THE FALL. I WANT TO MAKE ALL OF THESE DECISIONS ASAP AND MOVE FORWARD WITH SCHEDULES AND ORDERING OF SUPPLIES.

For those teams that couldn't make the meeting I have game balls and umpire checks. Please make arrangements to meet up with me prior to Sunday.

Waivers for new players must be signed and given to me as well as rosters, which can be emailed, before week 2.

1&1 count with none to waste and 25 person rosters.

On the schedule it doesn't say who's home or who's away so each team should bring their bases and $36 each weekend. Both teams will pay the ump per game and everything should work.
