| I verses Flex-bone. The I -run plays- Iso,Power,Sweep,Dive,Trap, maybe reverse/or counter. Flex bone Mid option, Tripple option, veer, speed option, counter,Rocket,(could run Iso. Toss, sweep, power). I can see the best OPTION can you? Passing Game play action - both formations- 5 step drop - bolth formations -rolling out- both formations-3 step- both formations- shot gun - you guessed it both. What can you do better from I again ?

| OK, we run the flexbone because it can make us competitive when we have a small, quick line. It has been a good offense. The problem with it is it is not versatile. Not that it could not be, but the teams that run it tend to fall into the trap of not developing balance with a passing game because the option works so well. So when you run up against a well coached team with good athletes, they often will shut the option down, then the offense struggles big time when forced to pass. The timing and game experience just is not there.
If you run an I or split backs, these offenses are based on balance. The run/pass ratio is close to 50/50. Every run play has a play action pass to go with it. Against a good team, you have a lot better chance of finding something that works, or at least keeping the defense off balance because the passing game is more developed.
The reason i suggested an I for THIS SEASON is the strong suits of your players. Shepherd is a power runner, Wilson is a slasher/makes you miss runner. Perfect for an I. If they were the same style then split backs works also. Wrobeleski is an accurate passer who can run. Axsom is a super pass receiver, so a slot I or split backs formation is ideal for him. We have some big, strong linemen now, so we should be able to run anything we want. But most of all, you develop a balanced attack.
I understand the idea of keeping things the same to develop the system. I just hope as we play the weaker teams, once we get a lead, we use use some of the offensive series to develop the passing game for situations when we really need it. Trouble is that just doesn't happen. Option teams both college and high school level tend to stay one dimensional. Maybe this years team can buck that trend. I hope so. We have a lot of potential.

| You took the time to explain what i have been trying to say, and you did it very well. Brownstown is 1 of the best mis directional running teams around, but they can and will throw the ball effectively. Can not be 1 dimensional against the better teams. look, i love our program and the success we have hadc in recent years. But now its time to make a decision, do we just stay a good program or do we go to the next level. And contrary to what commonsense said, your only as good as your talent. No matter what scheme you implement.

Very good comments. As your name implies, you are realistic and know when to drink the purple kool-aid. To get to the next level, we need to change some things. Enuff said.

| Good point on the talent thing. On more reason we did not pass much last year, we were not very good at it. I know your fixing to say "still should have tried". Thats how you lose games that you should when by doing things you can't do well. Sure they could have called more passes and saved time on the clock for the other teams O. If you think you know more about football than the pool of coachs we have then you are full of yourself. Fact is the B-town game was on a night when we did not play well and they did. They were more mature in spots. And on that night wanted it more no scheme O or D will fix that. Also we have play action for most of our plays as well. Just a matter of having the talent ect. Like I keep saying If you all will relax I bet you will see more passing this year as I feel we have gotten older and more ex. in skills spots. GO RAMS

| Maybe winning 7 or 8 games a year and occasionally winning the sectional is all we will ever accompolish. And if it is, it is for sure an upgrade from what we are accustomed to. I have just felt that in recent years we had the talent to do more than we done. FYI, that talent pool has just about ran it course.Really hope the youngster develope. And I agree with commonsense on 1 thing...GO RAMS
