| Last year there was a big gripe about the state tournament and lack of promotion and attendance. Well, it starts early August of 2012. I believe at the same sites as last year ... KEEP THESE DATES IN MIND. Reps for all teams should be harping on the need to attend games and to promote this to friends, families and coworkers!
Let's get it going early instead of complaining after the tournament is done!

| Why are we relying solely on word of mouth? That's the biggest issue of lack of attendance....

| That's the great attitude that has gained us the great publicity we already get! No, you're right. Let's keep it the way it is. FYI, I was one of the people who showed up for each game at the State Tournament this year....

| So was I. My point simply is that it takes someone to volunteer to implement good ideas, not just throw them out there for someone else to do.

| Word of mouth is a start. I'd be happy to contact the paper in July but I think it's a tad too early. Just know the dates and start spreading the word. Wor of mouth is one aspect of it. But if we can't get friends an family it'll be tough to get a good turnout

| Hey PTM, why don't we form a group,3-4 should be good, to handle publicity. We would get info to media prior to tourney & report game results.
I would bet my paycheck that if we proposed this to the group that does the heavy lifting for the tourney we would be welcomed with open arms.
If uou're interested drop me an email @ bill3282@aol.com

| I gotta the turn out for last years state tourney was pretty good! Although the actual numbers may not show due to most of the st. Paul teams fans that sit down the lines in order to save that 5 or 6$... now that is a problem...

| I would assume he is referring to Bloomington. The ratio of fans that paid to get into the stadium and the ratio of fans down the left field line in the parking lot seemed about 50/50 at times. I also bought a tourney player pass. I think it's a great deal to watch a lot of great games and support Class A at the same time. I get the whole tailgating thing down the line...but why not buy the ticket and support Class A if you're watching the games????

| Well, I also bought a tourney pass ( regular, not player ). I spent some time in the grandstand, some time on the hill in right field and some time down the left field line.
So, my question is how do you know those fans didn't pay admission?

| I never stated they didn't pay. I posed the question that if you're watching the games why WOULDN'T you pay to support Class A baseball. But let's be realistic, not everyone that watched the game from the parking lot paid. Not saying none of them did, again, just saying why wouldn't you pay to support a good cause.
