I asked a question @ the league meeting Monday, about if the kicking team kicks the ball off or punt & hit the receveing team player and the ball pops up in the air & the kicking team recovers the ball in the air b4 it hits the ground, who's ball is it? Charlie Malata(Head of Officating for USFTL) asked my question on the USFTL board, and he's his answer below. You can check 4 yourself for all non-believers.
Hi Choo Great question on both instances. The ball belongs to the kicking team, but cannot be advanced. It is addressed in Our Rule book on page 48 Rule 10 Section 1 Article 5 & page 50 Rule 10 Section 3 Article 9.
