I'm glad the message board has drawn some interest this offseason, but this has started to get ridiculous and it's time to have a little perspective on things here. This is an AMATEUR baseball league fellas...I know we all wish it was more than that, but it's not. As my wife will probably tell all you, I spend way too much time and effort "obsessing" about baseball. As important as it is to me, and most players, we need to remember that this league is about playing baseball for fun, and the love of the game.

As far as Koplitz goes, clearly there are rules in place to avoid players from jumping from team to team, but I think it is clear that this is not the case here. Hopefully the right thing is done and the player is released and allowed to play wherever he so chooses and is MOST CONVENIENT FOR HIM...not for the league or his previous team. Forcing a player (a good or bad player) to sit out a year from our league to prove a point is not what this league is about and it is sad that this has been forgotten right now. I have spent a lot of time the past few years promoting the league, running this website, etc. and am disappointed by how some of these situations have been handled of late.

As far as those who are in charge of the league right now, they do the best job they can. They have been ELECTED to be in charge. With that being said, EVERY year we have league meetings, EVERY year anyone can throw their name in the ring to be commish, vp, treasurer, etc...but no one ever does. These are the people that have been elected by the teams to represent this league...so if players, managers, fans are unhappy, then I suggest being at a meeting to see that things get changed...bitching about it on here won't fix anything...rant over.

P.S. Please clean up the language on here as well or the forum will be no more. Thank you.

Well said big homie! Every league has issues like this that the people elect to interpret the rules that all organizations and teams adopt. It is a thankless job, and most people don't understand.

You keep doing your thing Jimmy Z.

Thank you Jim for addressing this. This forum can add a positive tool for communication in this league if it is used correctly. Writing negative posts and using poor language only discredits our league and makes us look foolish. Some of these are legit issues that do need to be looked at, but we need to keep our issues in house and not for all to see. This needs to be done at the meetings. If you or members of your team have issues with how things are run by the board that is elected every year, then you need to say something at the meetings. I know that I probably talk way to much at them, but I know how much time we all invest in the summer and my goal is to make it the best for all involved and to use COMMON SENSE as our guiding force when making decisions. Let's do our best to avoid the language on here because it only gives our league a black eye and in my opinion we can't afford that right now.
In the future if you have an issue with a team or a member of the executive board all of their contact information is available on the website, contact them directly and hash it out with them. These posts only put people on the defensive and make things worse.
