.Hartford Steelers- The Steelers come into the season as the favorites coming off of a tournament championship. With an endless rotation of quality D Linemen,a solid O line, a physical running game, and of course Rocket the biggest playmaker in flag football who has also become a good passer. The questions are how deep will they be every week, can their secondary hold up against good passing teams, and will another receiver step up and make plays besides Anrae. Rocket cant do everything, Or can he? The Steelers will be a tough out regardless.
.New Haven Chargers- The Chargers look the strongest they have in a while. With the minds of Chris,Shank, and Rico the Chargers are always prepared on both sides of the ball. The D-line looks to be even more dominant than in the fall with a motivated Uyi(who was outstanding in the tournament). The Chargers may have the best O-line in the league. The return of a healthy Diallo will help stretch the field for Shank and the dangerous Thomas Newkirk (who if he plays every game could be an mvp candidate). On Defense the Chargers do a great job of confusing Qbs by mixing up coverages. The defense is led by the Lb Eric Bost(the most underrated player in the league in my opinion). The Chargers are my pick to win the whole thing. Things that can keep them from winning the league are the uncertainty at the Qb position, Mike is a dangerous player to both teams, he makes a few bad decisions per game. The Chargers receivers have to do a better job of making big plays, it allows defenses to get comfortable. They also need to someoneto step up at Safety to complete an otherwise solid secondary.
.Southington Warriors- Coming off last years impressive season the Warriors return with even more talent. The Warriors were a team whose overall performance was better than the sum of their parts(in short they play well together) Qb/C/Lb Moose is a great leader whose team always plays hard. Tyler Dube is a playmaker at receiver who made big plays against all of the best teams last year. The Warriors have a solid O-line that works well together which keys their running game. The offense could take off the return of starting Qb Connor Butkeitwitz. The Warriors have a solid disciplined defense led by Chase and last years Defensive Mvp safety Dawud Hanif who makes play from sideline to sideline. Weaknesses, I think they may be alittle small upfront, they can be passed on,and their offense may not be explosive enough to win a championship.I would try to stop the run and force them to pass.
.Tig Ole Bitties- Very similiar to the Warriors, they play really well together. The offense is led by QB Kerry Palmer, an accurate qb with a strong enough arm to do damage. He spreads the ball around to a ton of good receivers, they have good chemistry and have had success in 8 man. Tim (Tebow)Uhl backs him up and contributes at tight end and many other ways. They play hard and compete on defense but that may be there weakness as a team, they give up some big plays in the back end. Offensively I would say there weakness is they dont have a go to receiver which can be good and bad(I guess) and at times they get too pass happy.
.Southside Canes- Who knows? They could be playing in the Championship or they could be playing in the Open playoffs.Need to be more Consistent, could easily be number 2 or 3 on this list. Expectations are high coming off of a strong summer and fall. Qb Moe Ramos had a great fall season and he could be one of the best Qbs but he needs to be more consistent. The offense has alot of weapons led by Reggie, Justin, and Brian among others. The O-line led by Rick and Ced is solid but needs to be more consistent. The Canes have an above average defense against the pass led by Safety Frankie Ramos but they need to develop more of a pass rush as well as another lb. A healthy Abby or Rodney would help. The player to watch is Wr/cb Terry Smith, he has to make plays on O and prevent big plays on D. The Canes have all the pieces to go all the way but it all depends on them being (you guessed it) Consistent!
.Waterbury Hawks- A young team with alot of speed and athletic ability looks to prove that the fall season was no fluke. The offense is led by Qb Dave Godek who from everyone I have spoken to says is an excellent Qb. He is surrounded by a group of speedy receivers led by ex Raider,ex Saint,ex Cane Stevie Dunbar and Moss. Stevie and Moss are both game breakers. With the speed this team has they should be able to run with most teams on Defense. Weaknesses- like most youngeer teams Line play will be the key, can they hang in against the more physical teams.
.Brass City Horse (aka Pookies aka Ballpark Saints) Coming off a strong Spring and a Fall Championship they look to keep the momentum going into this season with some new faces. This is a physical team that makes the other team work for every yard. Brass City is a run first offense but Qb Rob Saunders along with being an effective runner is a good with strong arm. They are solid on both the offensive and defensive lines but the questions with the skill positions. There are weaknesses in the secondary and at receiver which could be a major concern. Dennis is a master recruiter. I am sure they have found solid replacements but I have to see it first.
.CT Broncos- They get the edge over the other 2 teams because rumor has it that they have some Gunz playing with them. Judging by the tournament the defense is solid they have 2 young corners who will be good players but will experience some growing pains. Steve Kelly is a relentless pass rusher with a high motor. Add that to a couple of Gunz and you have a pretty good defense. Offense is where there issues are they have solid receivers led by Carlton Doty and Matt McAuley. They are breaking in a new Qb, who has ability but will be doing some learning on the fly. They could be dangerous by the end of the season if they keep improving. They are my pick for Open division Champs. They will struggle with the Offensive line as well as the lack of an explosive game changer on offense to stretch the defense.
a.Bristol Spartans- Reportedly have added talent but will struggle on the lines and defensively. Phil Cushon is a pretty good Qb who runs around and makes some plays, maybe some of the new additions can help him out. We will see. I have to get back to you on this team.
b.Bristol Chiefs(aka Bell City)- Another team that is said to have added some players. had a strong core led by Devyn Kittle and Jarrod Jackson. Had a good Qb at the end of last season interested to see if he returns, that could speed up their improvement. They will also struggle on the lines.

The chargers are legit, and we (spartans) should've won the game. however, it shows how good of a team you are when you can pull out a W in close games. Respect to the chargers, but you havent seen the last of us.
