| The fight/brawl with Lady Cougars and Lady Scorpions was disgusting to say the least. There's no place for that in football! From what I saw the hot head from Lady Cougars clearly slung her flag and threw multiple punches at the Scorpions player leading to a bench clearing brawl. It's a shame to have such a great day of football ruined with this foolishness! Act like ladies, play like players and leave it on the field. There are moms, children and other family members out there and this was embarrassing to say the least!

| i agree - what a shame! i would imagine sence no team or players was punished during the last ladies fight, teams don't think twice if they want to fight. we need to have rules in place to help ensure this doesn't happen in the future. no one is gettin paid to come out here and play. teams and players need to be held accountable ...

| I agree that players need to be held accountable for fighting in order to maintain the safety of all players on the field. And I believe the refs and the commissioner were regulating that yesterday. But I don't agree with your assessment. I saw fault with both players yesterday. I saw the Cougar player making big play after big play, which seemed to spark the flame. She went to reach for her pulled flag and the other young lady appeared to hit it out of her hand or something and then some shoves took place and then some fists. Good job by the refs for immediately stepping in and handling the situation. And players, focus on BEATING your opponents with your play vs. with your fists. This is football.

| Of all the years that we have played, we have never been one of the teams that play dirty. I think it was very unfortunate that the young lady from the Cougars took a shot at #55 and expect her not to defend herself. My children are there with me weekly and I hate that they had to see such foolishness. @Unbiased Spectator, clearly #55 handed her flag to her and she hit her in the face with it. None of our players ran off the sideline to fight, only to break them up. Not only did their team come off the sideline, but they came over swinging. Totally un-called for. We only come down there to play and enjoy the sport.

| Exactly what I saw Trina. You guys always compete and play fairly even when short handed. What an unfortunate situation. The Cougars were clearly the agressors on this one.

| I absolutely agree. I don't believe for one second that the Lady Scorpions are a dirty team. I personally don't allow the actions of a "few" to dictate my feelings about an entire group. I saw fault from both sides period. I just don't want this to turn into a blame game and/or one-sided smear campaign. Not much to debate here. Let's just do better ladies & gents.

| peanut gallery true, for peanut-sized-brained individuals. Week, after week, after week people are hard-pressed to give their interpretation of what takes place on Sunday and most of the times they have absolutely nothing to do with it or they don't even know all of the facts. The bottomline is that we are too grown and have too much to lose to throw blows & fight during something that we all consider to be recreation. These two women & the team as a whole need to come to a resolve amongst themselves. In addition, I trust George will take the necessary steps to ensure all that were involved are sanctioned appropriately. Now, on a more positive note, I do give props to the Refs (even the ones not in uniform) because they responded swiftly...I think even the Rec. Ctr. security guard was out there. Listen people, everything doesn't have to be a debate/discussion. Sometimes it is what it is. And for the person who origniated this post at 6:50am...get a life. Go to the CNN or Washington Post website and read something that matters.

| FYI, there was repurcussions for the fight that happenend a few weeks ago, both players were suspended from the game and an additional game and both players were fined. So before anyone else decided to swing, remember there is a $250 fine and suspension that the Commissioners and Refs are inforcing

| Good afternoon everyone and rest assure that this incident has been dealt with along with all of the others that have taken place thus far this season. People, let's work a little bit harder in controlling our players with short fuses (we all have one or a few). Remember, during an altercation on the field, no players, spectators, family members, etc - are permitted to run onto the field and intervene (Coaches are allowed to do what they can to stop the situation) it's truly up to the players on the field, refs, and league Reps to get the situation under control (to which they have been doing a great job). Fines and suspensions have been issued, so let's move on and get back to our great game of flag football.

| Amen and great job by refs/commissioner for acting expeditiously to resolve the matter and hopefully deter future offenders. No need to applaud nor ostracize everyone for the actions of 2 people, which is something people on this board seem to enjoy doing. Good day.

| @ #55 I don't think anyone said anything bad about you. But, if they did...ignore them. Don't let the msg board get to you. The board doesn't speak for everyone.
Almost everyone has been involved in an altercation, whether they were the aggressor or simply defending theirself. Mistakes happen. The league is dealing with it. Now like you said...let's move one.

| Those were a lots of great comments about a situation that once again was handled on the spot by the referees, coaches and players with expertise. The best flag football commissioner George Coleman, again handles his business of rectifying this matter with fines and suspensions. The issue that all of the women of the Ely Women Flag Football League should be concerned with is a email post that the commissioner put out several weeks ago and the issue that could possibly terminate the women's league any given week, and clearly is not being respected. The issue is the smoking on the field and the drinking of alcoholic beverages at the Deanwood Recreation Facility by people who for whatever reason think that they are going unseen and their actions are invisible to the naked eye. This disrespect must stop! These individuals clearly are not a part of the league and if they cared about your league, they wouldn't be bringing this disrespect to your positive venue. The the Recreation Facility Supervisor and security guards are making note of the fact that smoking and drinking is occurring each week! This is clearly a matter of disrespect to everyone who has paid their money to be a part of and to develop the best women's flag football league in the nation. If tomorrow or any day there after, George Coleman is approached and asked to not use the Deanwood Facility anymore. Who do we blame? Do we blame the people, who operate the facility? Do we blame George Coleman? Do we blame the people, who think that they are not being seen? If you have seen these violations, then you are to blame. The answer to this problem is, if you are a player, a coach, or you just care because this is your women's league, then you should be taking ownership of your investment and speak directly to the people that you see creating the problems that have been mentioned. You have the right to govern your investment and future! Use the same aggressive spirit that is displayed week after week by all of the women players and coaches to help George Coleman preserve and build this league. Don't let people, who don't care stop what you really care about! This is not the old Ely field, the WAFFL league or the Bowie league. This is a beautiful million dollar facility! There may be a need for DCPD Officers to be present until this comes to an end. Your thoughts?

| Well, well, well... Staff can't even get to the field, on-time(to open gate before 9am games), let alone monitor and/or smoking, drinking, and the like. If it's such a concern/issue, then maybe staff will have Security Guard walking the field and parking lot areas, to cut-down/eliminate unwanted activities.rather than inside rec, on phone talking and eating the whole time. Those are my. Thoughts about decreasing unwanted activities.thnx

| The gates at the field being opened on time is another issue, which won't be an issue if the facility stops the league period. The Security Guards are just that. They are not police. They observe and document the offensive occurences. This as nothing to do with the issue of the teams that pay the money and should have respect for each other and the pride to protect the growth of a great women's flag football league. We can place the blame a lots of places and on a lots of people, but what role does everyone play in the unnecessay activities that could cost the stoppage of the games from being played at this beautiful facility? Thanks for your thoughts!

| I recommend a fine or forfeit for teams who leave their sideline full of trash. I understand that the parking lot and the 2 trash cans that are on the field are harder to monitor, but atleast it will help foster an awareness for teams to take more responsibility, especially if they have to pay a fine in order to play the following weekend in order to avoid a forfeit.

| This is getting so old. One day folks hate Most Wanted, the next day Black Mambas, the day after that it's the Lady Cougars, and so on and so on. Seriously, talking trash about specific players and generalizing entire teams is WEAK. And it's even weaker that the trash talkers go unidentified. If you really feel some way about it post your name. Or better yet when you see the individuals in question - say something to them DIRECTLY on the field.
This "gang mentality" on the message board is so corney. Like really, do you you need that much support? You can't handle things yourself? You want to rally folks? SMH

| I could care less what happened last week in someone else's life. I mean "jane doe" went down on "jenna doe" last week And so and so was lookin at me funny and I just don't like that chick And guess what Ron artest did? And you know what else, forreal-forreal, I can't play a lick and my team is sum garbage, so instead of getting my shit together, ima jump on another persons "dik". I don't know who flow is but some1 really doesn't like that chick or the cougars.maybe a disgruntled old teammate or gf. This board is very interesting. I know more people view this board, people who can bring substance to it. Please, the board is in desperate need of your input! I don't care who the team or folks are on the otherside of the field. I'm bringing my a-game regardless and ima have fun while doing it. We are grown. If you have a bone to pick, handle it! Ranting on this board in such a way speaks volumes. Cowardess.
