| STEELERS(4-0) vs SOUTHSIDE CANES(4-1)
Mothers Day will feature a heavyweight bout at 12:00 between two teams most believe are top contenders for the spring league crown. The Steelers come into the game undefeated at 4-0 and history has shown they thrive in big games like this one. Although Killa Hill and the Hawks gave them all they can handle, those were skeletan Steeler teams out there and you can bet the sideline will be packed this week. A win here by the Steelers will cement there position as the favorites for the chip. The Canes come in at 4-1 with their lone loss coming at the hands of the undefeated Chargers. For a team that long struggled to make it to the top of the flag game, we have seen them go from a 3-7 OPEN division team to a fixture in the last two championship games. A win vs a veteran Steelers squad would give this team the confidence it needs to push through and capture a major chip. The addition of the Southside aspect to the team has given them the physical presence and attitude the old Canes often lacked. This Canes team wont be bullied or man handled, two areas were the Steelers have made a living vs up and coming teams.
Heres a look at the matchups for both teams
QUARTERBACK
Moe Ramos (Canes), 9 TD's 2 INT's
Jaime "Rocket Bryant (Steelers), 7 TD's 0 INT's 2 RUSHING TD's
2 of the leagues best, Ramos is a field general who can spread the ball around and make every throw. Bryant is a freak of nature that will make defenders miss but also can sling the rock, especially finding open receivers after he extends plays with his legs

WIDE RECEIVERS
CANES: Justin Walters(inj), Brian Chounaird, Terry Smith, Reggie Hunter, Will Collins, Kevin Sylvester
STEELERS: Anrae Fevrier, Chris Collins, Darnell Simpson, Ivan Schmidt, B. Macdonald, Darnel Meade
Both teams have players that can make big plays and get into the endzone. The Steelers, with Ivan ans Darnell are more of a vertical threat than the Canes. The biggest difference here is the injury to the Canes Walters. With him out and Will Collins unlikely to be here this week they will have to rely heavily on Chounnaird, Smith and Hunter. Will Moe play his best without his top target? Also Who is going to matchup with the big, strong and fast Anrae?

CANES: Will Collins, Mike Snacks-A-Lot
STEELERS: Tylee Flowers, Anrae Fevrier
If the Steelers have their full compliment of WR's than you may see Fevrier line up at the TE position where he will be a challenge for either of the Canes LB's, if not than Tylee is just as tough of a match up. With Collins, the Canes have the best TE in the game, without him they have a solid Mike Snacks but he is more of a blocking TE who can beat you with a screen or a shovel pass but not a threat to run the route tree on you

OFFENSIVE LINE
CANES: Cedric Stevenson, Ricky Chabo, Rafael Prado
STEELERS: Todd Jenkins, Eric Wilks, Dave Rodriguez, Mike Morle, Big Lo
The starters for both teams are very, very good. For the Canes, Big Ced is one of the leagues top LT's, Ricky Chabo can bang with the best of them and Prado is the enforcer. The Steelers counter with one of the best young centers in the game in Todd Jenkins, veteran wrecking ball Eric Wilks and the always consistent Dave Rodriguez. The difference here is the Steelers depth, they have 5 or 6 lineman that are essentially interchangeable and all are tough and aggressive.

CANES: Rodney Davis, Mike Snacks-A-Lot, Will Collins, Rafael Prado, Fabian
STEELERS: Big Lo, Big Joe, Tylee Flowers, Leo Negro, Swin Brown
This is where it gets fun, gotta love the d-line cause it can win or lose a game for you in a hurry. Pressure burst pipes and these two teams have plenty of it, but the approach is different. The Steelers are big, strong and as mean as they come. The Canes on the other hand are small, fast and athletic. Typically the Steelers dominate this category but i think the match-ups with the opposing O-lines favors the Canes because of their speed, which should also help to contain Rocket

CANES: Reggie Hunter, Terry Smith, Justin Walters, L Myers, Kevin Sylvester, Karl Eissler, Frank Ramos
STEELERS: D-Block, Jamal Foye, John Manning, Izzy Rivera, Dejourn Shields, Jemar Smith, Marcos Nieves(inj)
Injuries have cost both teams top players in Marcos Nieves(Steelers) and Justin Walters(Canes). For the Canes this has been a strong suit all year but match ups will be interesting here. Who can shut down Ivan and who gets the call to D up Anrae? The Steelers will likely play a ton of man coverage and send the house so the key here may be who is going to contain Mr. Hunter, he can make you miss, flair as a RB or make bigger, slower LB's look silly over the middle. Again the Collins/Walters factor plays a role here

The Canes have arrived as a top team, unfortunetly for them they come into a statement game missing the heart and soul of the team. If they can rally behind their leader and play inspired ball they have a chance to not only give the Steelers their first loss but give the Canes a franchise victory. For the Steelers its their game to lose. On paper they are the better team and they did beat the Canes twice in the Spring Kickoff Tourny. Im just not sure that all the players on the Steelers are as committed to them as they are their "other" teams in Hartford. Swin and Leo came to Waterbury to challenge their squad away from the comforts of home as they try and build for travel ball but are the players buying it? If the REAL Steelers show up then watch out, if not...........ut oh

| Adding one guy who played with us already this season is not stacking. Watch how many Steelers show up this week we never seen before. Bottom line is add all the people you want. We never shy away from playing top notch competition. Can't wait for this game.

I can't help if my players still like playing hartford....They know just like every other player on my team where to be when we play in the dirty. Shit...if they come they come, if not oh well so be it...As you see, we still have to play...If we win cool, if we lose, I'm cool to. Not going to lose sleep over it. | Oh yea i heard, hands down to the (Canes). Much respect to them. They came to ball, and the better team one. One thing bout us, we been doing this for years. We know how to bounce back te the rest of them....... A win is a win, a lose is a lose...Oh don't think when we get them again it's going to be the same...nope.. I will have my boys ready come playoff time, when it realy counts. So Canes much respect to y'all the rest of the way, i would have luv to be there. But wifey wasn't havent that.....So to whammy, whomp on that. Come chip time, i know where my team will be. Taking 1 of those spots...
