| I think your point would be better taken if your writing didn't make you seem like you're under the influence yourself.

| Maybe all of you who don't like the umps should spend a few hottttt Sundays on the field umping Tried it once and found it not so easy. Umpires are a real dedicated bunch and love the game, we need them, cut them some slack or get out there and do it yourself!!!!

| The assigner of the umpires in the Rock River League & TCNL would have better umpires if he would spend some time at looking for more qualified individuals. It's more important for him to do as many games as possible at the age of 70 rather than find younger and more compitent officials. This is the only gig he has left, because no one else will hire him. The replies from below are not that far off because he is hanging on to umpires that are way past their time.

| My mistake the repies from above are not that far off. It's the good old boys system of the assigner. Get your buddies, not the best umpires.

| On 6/13/13 the TCNL had three games scheduled. Two of those three games had only one umpire. One of them recruited an umpire from a softball game nearby to give then two. When you only need six umpires for a midweek game and you can only come up with four qualified umpires something is wrong. Every Sunday you need approximately twenty. How can it be that you can't find six in the middle of the week? Sounds like a pure case of someone being unorganized. The TCNL deserves better than this. Why can't the assigner find enough qualified umpires for three games? I revert back to my earlier statement of going out and contacting the local umpire associations and get more compitent people or invest in a scheduling program that works, because this one sure doesn't.

| There is a problem greater then the umpires in the league. There is a fundamental problem who is running the league and the unwillingness of the president's cronies to ever do anything for the betterment of the league. The current president should've been gone last year but there is this delusion on part of some that if they dare go against the guy running the league they will be assigned Rube Schultz to umpire their game or the president himself will hold a grudge. Face it, if a guy is going to hold a grudge, is he really the guy you want running the league?

| You guys seem to have all the answers, I don't know why you don't go to the meetings to speak your mind and let your Ideas be heard. The Assigner of Umps and his cronies as you call them get elected yearly. Maybe you should throw your name in for one of those positions because Pissing and moaning about it on this website will get you nowhere. Perhaps you could call up the assigner and tell him you want to umpire. Umpires and the quality of umpiring is a problem all over the place not just in the RRL or TCNL. So do something about it or get over yourself and play the game!

| You really need to let go of Carl's nutsack "JunoGuy"!!!!!!!!! There are plenty of great umpires in the area that REFUSE to do games in the Rock River and the TCNL because of who assigns them. The fact is I can call up a guy right now and have 2 qualified umpires at my game every week, but the league assigner/president burned that bridge. And I did stand up and voice my concerns last year and I voted to replace the president, but the cronies, or the ones killing the league, voted to keep the circus in town.
There is a group of very committed teams/organizations that want to grow this league and move forward and it just so happens that a strong number of the playoff teams want change despite their success. It is the lower teared teams, the ones that can't get out of their own way and off Carl's nutsack long enough to see the issues that plague their team and their league.
That is on you!

| Easy there hot head! Do you feel better now? First off, remove head from your own ass now Ruby Joe, there much better. I don't recall being on the Presidents side of this debate. Do these so called qualified umps refuse to do games in this league because of the President or all the pissing and moaning in the league? I personally know umps that have moved on from the Rock for that reason. Doesn't matter if you have good umps or not someones still gonna be pissed off because there is a winner and a loser, not saying the umping is good but how often does an umpire change the outcome of a game? its bad for both teams. The President has definitely not been perfect and has had many questioned things surrounding him for years, trust me I can personally attest to his questionable antics. Im not a fan! The cronies you speak of are people who have been with the league for a long time. Stuck in there ways? Sure they are, but I don't believe they're killing the league. Sure there is a lot of Ideas thrown around every year how to better the league, While I do not believe in the President I do believe the other people who have say in these matters are doing their jobs. your opinion of a better league maybe isn't whats best for the league that's why we have these people in place. I do believe its time for change at the top and the same guy should not be in charge of the Rock, TCNL, SWABA and Umpires.

| Gentleman the better forum for this is the meetings. There are only a few voices at each meeting that are willing to voice their opinions on a variety of topics. There are 21 teams in the league the more voices the better.

| Kyle you are right, the better place to air your approval or dislike of a situation is at the league meetings. The problem with that is not all organizations are on board with what is going on. If certain things can be addressed here I would like to think that managers and organizations would read this and ask questions. The weaker teams in the league don't seem to care and Carl talks to them at voting time and blows sunshine up there you know what. He can say whatever he wants, but when it comes down to doing what he says or what is writen down he has his own agenda for that. Juno guy, suggestions and people stepped up to replace Carl last year and yet they still voted him back in. The people who keep voting for him need to wake up and smell the coffee. He doesn't put forth the effort that is needed to run the league and that needs to be changed. Yes the umpiring situation is one thing, but there are many more. There were tiebreaker rules put in place that never got implimented. I think we could go on and on. Managers need to hear this and do the right thing. Carl has a place in the Rock River League. It is time for him to step down as the Commissioner and become a part time umpire. He has served the league well for many years, but the times have passed him by. There are many other umpires out there that will keep the league going. Can he still work in the Rock? YES, but it's time to decrease his role. Cancellations happen and subs are needed. 150 years on this earth as a crew does not equate to something that the league should have to endure on a weekly basis. Due the right thing. get someone else to take your spot as an umpire & Commissioner. Clean up the rest of the guys that need to decrease their roles too. If this happens read this Forum next year. I think you'll see many more positive letters.
