Every team on the list deserves to be there. With the Irish winning the State tournament last year I'd have to give them the honor of the 1st spot to start the year with it being theirs to lose.

Funny how the Millers are capitalized. Poose you need to tone it down for your #1 pick. I agree that the Irish deserve #1 to start the season. Whether they are the best team in class A or not, they won the tournament last year and deserve to be at the top to start the season.

In the end it doesn't really matter as the outcome will be decided in the tourney in August. However, Poose, you've soiled yourself by capitalizing the Millers and only the Millers. No disrespect to the Millers...only to you for your obvious bias.

Funny how you IMMEDIATELY pointed FINGERS without READING what I put after the LIST. PERHAPS you should READ more CLOSELY.

Solid rankings, Poose, but I'd put the Angels above the Lakers and Patriots based on their respective off-season moves. And who cares about capitalization anyway? If you think a team is worthy of a #1 ranking then you can put their name up there any way you want, IMO.

1. Millers
2. Irish
3. Park
4. Capitals
5. Pub
6. Shamrocks
7. Angels
8. Bandits
9. Lakers
10. North End

for the record, the rankings I posted are not mine. I do not think the Millers are the states top team...they are up there but until proven otherwise I think Stockmens and the Pub deserve to be 1 & 2...I was simply facilitating discussion with a list from a publication.

I can agree with the Patriots / Lakers comment...especially seeing the Lakers offseason losses. Moving the Angels in is rational.

Those rankings might have been from 2011 pre-tourney.

At any rate, it certainly spurred some discussion.

Well done!

Husker - I agree, it looks like an old ranking from last season.

Oh well, all the talk is good to see and I think it's still pretty early to get a good read on all teams. The Irish are still number 1 in my book, until someone beats em.

Glad someone finally took the time to do this. Always good to see who'll be the class of the league this upcoming season, and see where they're at on your schedule so you can use them as a measuring stick.

Curious how the angels are the team to beat in the p-Nash but you have them at 10 with lake show and pub above them?

Very true craftyleft15. Interesting order there. I heard the angels loaded up the lineup this year. We all know how the preseason rankings go. For the Millers, they have been the number one preseason seed now for the last 15 years. You could throw Park in there too a couple of times. When it comes down to the state tourney, anything can happen. That is the beauty of the game.

1. MILLERS
2. Stockmans
3. Park
4. Capitals
5. Pub
6. Bloomington
7. Angels
8. St. Anthony
9. Shamrocks
10. Lakers

Also considering: Cobras, Patriots, Hopkins, Tri-City

Lets not get carried away on the Angels yet. They added a few nice pieces (Fenstad, Ingaldson, and Morching from the Rocks) plus a couple younger players but lost Hondo and have Morris (arguably one of the best P-Nash hitters) only part time. We'll see what they do on the field. Sometimes too many additions can actually hurt your chemistry.

As far as the P-Nash goes from 2011 to 2012
1. Pub - better (everybody back, plus added top starting pitcher Cousins)
2. Angels - better (Added top starter Morching, plus C Ingaldson, plus OF Fenstad and Podmolik. Lost 3B Hronski)
3. Cobras - better (Added Youngquist at 3B, didn't lose anyone?)
4. Patriots - worse (lost Merrill, Camp, Ohland, pitching)
5. Lakers - worse (lost 2 best pitchers, added OF Merrill)
6. Rats - little better (added a few players, but any pitching?)
7. Merchants - better (added Camp, Ohland, and Koidahl back)
8. Blue Sox - couldn't be worse, so better.

Agreed that sometimes too many new guys can kill chemistry. As far as your Park National Rankings they look pretty good but without Morris full time the Angels are very beatable. From what I heard the Merchants are much improved and gave them every thing they could handle with Morching on the mound and actually should have won that game but left a lof of runner on base.

1. Lyons Pub 11-3
2. Cobras 9-5
3. Angels 9-5
4. Lakers 9-5
5. Patriots 8-6
6. Merchants 7-7
7. Rats 4-10
8. Blue Sox 0-16

Deeter, P-Nash.... Looks about right.

1. Pub (I'm a homer)
2. Cobras (Forgot Borman)
3. Lakers
4. Pats
5. Angels
6. Rats
7. Merchants
8. Blue Sox

1-6 could be any team, but you won't see any of them at the bottom. Opening week in the Park Nash. Should be fun. Parking lot battles are back!

Why not the Riverview.....

1. Tonka (why not..)
2. Park (Could be #1)
3. Bloomington (Could be #2)
4. Hopkins (some how, some way)
5. Edina
6. NWS
7. Hit Dawg

Former Rambler, so I believe I had a good read on this one...

My Take:

1 Minnetonka Millers
2 St. Louis Park
3 Stockmen’s Irish
4 Bloomington Bandits
5 St. Paul Capitals
6 Lyon’s Pub Warriors
7 Sport and Spine
8 Minneapolis Lakers
9 St. Anthony Hogs (Adding Stan Thony to their lineup will really bring some power to their offense)
10 American Pie Patriots

Adding power to an offense that doesn't have any doesn't add much IMO.

Additionally, if we are going to put St. Anthony in the Top 10 we should also include TC Saints because they are basically interchangeable in that spot.

TC Saints- Sleeper in St. Paul. Watch Out.

If we have a top 20 list I would hear your argument regarding the HOGS. Otherwise, have a wonderful day.

Thank you and good luck

I do agree with you though, they could use some more bats in the lineup to solidify them as a top team. But with their pitching, I still like them. I also like Blue Package as my sleeper pick of 2012.

Blue Package is an interesting squad. They underperformed in SPL play last year, but certainly showed a glimpse of what they're capable of by winning the Bandits Bash in Cambridge last summer, beating a very good Bloomington team. Word on the street is that they've added some good arms over the winter.

Blue Package??? I know they like to drink at Billy's on grand. Hogs are legit, regardless of Stan da man.

TC Saints.... no idea. I know four years ago they were terrible.

The Pub are out of the top ten. Looking forward to making a re-entry later in the season.

Limplifter - You. have. got. to. be. kidding. me. with the TC Saints pick there....you have seen them play correct?

How come no consideration is being given to Fan HQ? Great young team, with alumni and current players on reputable D2,D3 rosters...WashU, Scholastica and Mankato St. to name a few. Watch for this squad to make some noise and give the sexy-pick, Metro Knights, a run for their money in the Skyline this year.

FanHQ (formerly Moe's) is a solid club and consistently near the top of the Skyline. As for the Knights, I think they lost their "sexy" with the departure of their former manager, Antonio Bando... That dude sure rocked the doo-rag.
