1)Minnetonka Millers (9-0)
Minnetonka either won or placed second in the Dundas tournament. Not sure yet.
2)St. Louis Park (8-3)
Playing good baseball. Dropped a game 8-7 to Dundas in Dundas tournament, beat Highland Park. Starts Riverview play on Tuesday 6-5.
3)Stockmen’s Irish (4-2)
Stockmen’s lost to Shammies and Pats, but is a strong team. Beat Tri City 9-0 to start Skyline play.
4)American Pie Patriots (6-3) (1-0)
The Patriots keep plugging along and look to be a contender for the Park National title in 2012.
5)St. Paul Shamrocks (2-1)
Beat Stockmen’s and then lost to the Mudhens. Shamrocks are consistent and will round into form. Look for them to shoot up the board all season. (Haven’t updated website since their 1st loss of the year).
6)Bloomington Bandits (6-2)
Better schedule in 2012. Beat Lakers and Blue Package (big sleeper pick in 2012) missed a good match up with the Patriots due to rain. Riverview clash with Tonka coming up – good test.
7)St. Paul Sport and Spine Diesel (4-2)
Strong start to 2012 with big win over Patriots (Lakers win looking less great right now). Should contend for state tournament spot in 2012.
8)St. Paul Capitals (4-3) (1-0)
Could be best team in the state. Will be fun to see them get rolling in 2012, probably won’t repeat 2011 regular season success, but will make the state tournament this year – watch out.
9)Hopkins Berries (Unknown)
Tough pitching staff and typically play teams tough. Not updating website yet, but looks like a few victories early (based on other team websites)
10)Minneapolis Angels (unknown)
Not updating website. Angels are the trendy pick to take the Park National in 2012. I think they will finish high, but won’t overtake the Patriots. With the Pub and Lakers struggling, the Angels have a good opportunity to make some noise.

Dropped from rankings: Lyons Pub (2-7) (0-3) – what is going on with the Pub? Yes, it is early, but when do they need to hit the panic button? The 0-3 in league is what is most troubling. They have played good competition out of league, but Park National games need to be won. Plenty of time to turn it around. Minneapolis Lakers (2-5) – got beat by Bloomington and then went to Dundas and lost to Tonka and then got pummeled by Rochester 10-0. Is this team in a free fall? Or are they trying to figure out who they are with their new guys?

Next in: Blue Package Delivery – seems like more guys than just me believe they are a sleeper in 2012 and are an improved club adding some arms to the arsenal. Metro Knights (7-4) (2-0) – knocking on the door. Skyline could be wide open after Stockmen’s (although, not positive because most Skyline teams don’t update or don’t have websites – which explains a lack of representation in these rankings). The Knights could be a good story in 2012, good luck guys.

Other thoughts: Minneapolis Cobras – who are they? Looks like they are able to beat the teams that they should beat, but have struggled against some of the better teams around. Lost to the Angels, Victoria and Hopkins. Fan HQ – interesting team. They made a run a few years back when they were “Moe’s Bar”, but haven’t had the same impact. Started up on 6-3, yet to update score, but could be a team to keep an eye on. St. Anthony Hogs – another regular pick on these boards to be in the rankings, yet just as other Skyline teams, aren’t updating/don’t carry a website. It is tough to know what is going on with them. What’s known they lost to Metro Knights and that’s about it so far. North End Blomber/River Pirates – two clubs that qualified for the state tournament in 2011, yet don’t carry/update a website. Will have to rely on the teams that do in order to be ranked in 2012.

Regular rankings to follow each Monday throughout the season. Thoughts? - These results are taken from websites, hopefully more teams will start updating as the season goes on. Looks like league play should start up soon. Good luck.

Just checked out some of the websites. My biggest question: do any A teams play more home games than the Minnetonka Millers of the Bloomington Bandits? Geez it's like they are afraid of away games....otherwise, good job .. it was a fun read.

How is Stockmen's ranked so high still? Sure they have an unbelievable lineup, but their pitchers can't throw strikes? Only beat Twin Cities Saints 5-4 which is the equivalent of playing the Little Sisters of the poor and they blew a 7-0 lead over the Shamrocks as well.

Once key thing to note is that they added Mike Fritz who previously threw 90% of all of Woodbury's innings before they folded, which should boost the top end of the rotation...which they needed since Chris Dent is yet to prove he is in "mid-season form."

Looks like Stockmen's does indeed update their website.

PS: What is with teams that stop updating because they lost?

Hogs? .... nobody knows anything about em because they don't seem to have a website that updates scores ... but Stockmen's website shows a game against the Bacon tonight!

Good luck Skyline Stud

Sorry Skyline. Sounds like you gave a nice effort, but the Irish aren't too bad. Nice to see the Irish keep on winning.
