| #3 WARRIORS (7-3).......The WARRIORS defeated the HAWKS 20-12 to advance to the semi-finals
UP NEXT.........(#2)STEELERS
KEY PLAYERS...........(QB)Connor Butkiewitz (RB/DE)Savino Melluzzo, (WR/S)Tyler Dube, (WR/DB)Tyler Chamberlain, (OL)Shane Duncan
I think the time has finally come for the WARRIORS to lose the "Little Brother" tag as the 2nd best team from Southington. Moose and Co. have built a team that may have the brightest future in CT flag but dont tell them cause they are convinced the future is now. The WARRIORS play mistake free, disciplined and menacing football that pushes opponents over the edge. With every part of the puzzle in place and on the same page, the WARRIORS are finally hitting on all cylinders. Offensively, they are as talented across the board as any team left and bost the best young WR the game has seen in years in Tyler Dube. Make no mistake about it, this kid is the real deal. Throw in an all-league RB(Savino Melluzo), a WR(Tyler Chamberlain) who has become on of the most balanced players in the league and an ageless veteran (Steve Angilletta) and the points come pretty easily for the black and red. The line is young, but typical of Southington, they are fearless technicians that seem to adjust to any situation. On the other side of the ball lives an entirely different beast.......THE GREMLINS.....this is a unit loaded with relentless maniacs that somehow manage to harness themselves just enough to play a disciplined zone defense and shut down opposing offenses. They will throw several different d-lineman at you and wear you down. The one thing I have noticed is that if you can slow up the "gremlins" up front then there are holes in the secondary. Expect moose to keep the heat on opposing QB's to mask their one weeakness
The only injury we are aware of is a big one and thats to premier OLineman Jon Lunn who has herniated discs in his back and is done for the year
The WARRIORS have their hands full with the STEELERS to say the least, add in the fact that we will see a fully loaded steel curtain and this game will be the ultimate litmus test for how far the youngsters have come. Protected Connor should be their primary focus, and gives thema chance to match the STEELERS offense with Rocket at the helm. I like their matchups just about everywhere else and IF (Big IF) they can keep the STEELERS Dline at bay, have a shot to pull the upset here.
BOTTOM LINE......Its hard not to root for these guys, they play the game the way you wish your team would and are fun to watch. Unfortunetly, its playoff time and when the playoff bell rings, you will see that the STEELERS are cut from a different cloth and are by no means ready to come down from the top of the hill. STEELERS in a war of wars

| Thanks for the write up. Awesome stuff. I'm so pumped for a rematch with the Steelers, it will be a great game. On that note(this isn't a big deal at all), but Chase should be listed as a key player, he's the heart and soul of our team. The Warriors are a direct reflection of how Chase carries himself. See everyone this Sunday!
