The Chargers look to win their 3rd straight league (fall league and indoor league). The Chargers have played well all year but have still yet to play their best game yet which makes their 9-1 record even more impressive. The strength of the team had been it's defense with its dominant pass rush led by speed rusher Joe Lane and the unblockable Uyi Osunde. The chargers are also strong in the secondary which shuts teams down by mixing it's coverages, disguise, and talented players, led by lockdown Cb Rich Kirkland, versatile Lb Carl "Shank" Bond, underrated Lb Eric Bost, and the improved play at the other cornerback spot by #40 Donnel. This defense is stingy and almost impossible to score on in the red zone. The place teams have had the most success attacking the Chargers has been deep down the middle. Offensively the Chargers have been inconsistent. Early in the year the offense was carried by the big plays of Rich Kirkland and Pat Hussey. As of late they have been sparked by the return of Diallo Freeman and Guy Smith. The Chargers have had a revolving door at the QB position. It looks as if Millicent will get the nod this weekend. He is a top notch Qb who can make all of the throws and if he gets into a groove can cause a lot of problems for a defense. The biggest concern could be the lack of timing with the receivers since he hasn't been around much. The offensive line will be missing their best lineman Darius Dale but they should be able to mix and match due to their depth at the position. Where Dale could be missed is if the face the Steelers strong D-Line in the championship. The Chargers are due for an offensive explosion at some point and TOBs blitz package will leave openings for the Chargers to exploit..
BOTTOM LINE.........The Chargers defense will be the difference in this game. TOB has a small O-Line but the deep shotgun may negate the Chargers strong pass rush. But TOBs lack of explosiveness on offense along with the Chargers strong secondary will keep the score low. The Chargers will attack TOBs blitz for a couple of scores early and open the flood gates late. Setting up an exciting championship game, no matter who they play. Chargers 26-7
