The determinations people make from non-con games are ridiculous. Unless I have missed something, it seems that most teams use non-cons as a chance to get guys playing time and work out pitchers that haven't been as busy. The only non-cons that are typically worth a crap are in tournaments. Someone tell me if I am wrong.

Also, I want to nominate Ryan Naughton as Player of the year in the Skyline for what he did years ago as part of the roosters.

100% Agreed. Tournaments and conference games are where teams care. Non league games are a chance especially for veteran teams to get guys playing time and 3 or 4 pitchers work. Home teams have the major advantage too as lots of guys dont the long ttips during the week to visiting teams parks. Younger teams tend to care about the non league games.

Pluff and P Nash Fan are both right. But I think for ranking purposes (especially early in the season)they are used more.

The rankings are all in fun anyways. Nothing really matters outside of league play for most teams.

Ryan Naughton makes a comeback on the boards, love it. In other news, I believe Terry Steinbach is retiring from professional baseball and is going to be joining the New Ulm club! Now all we need is some trash talking from the Tri City Shark attack victims ...

Forgot to add that Old Timer's wife has barred him from using the computer and engaging in banter on this forum.

No news on his status yet.

I think Old Timer has been spending his time working on new profession(umpire). No joke, he is legit behind the plate as an ump....works hard, makes the right calls and is darn cheap!

but personally i do miss the forum banter and expect him to come through in the clutch when we all need a good laugh.
