| NEED FEEDBACK.......!!!!!
We have been in discussions with the WFFL (Waterbury Flag Football League), which has run a 9-man fall league continuously for the last 25 years in Waterbury about working together. We as the GCFFA have not operated a fall league in the past in Waterbury but this may be a great opportunity to help the WFFL continue and provide a great Fall league for all teams in the area........
There a few differences in the leagues that I would like to point out and get some feedback on, so when we meet to discuss these details I have a good understanding of what the teams really want
RULES
- WFFEL does not currrently allow stiff arms
- WFFL DOES currently allow fumbles and fumble recoveries
- WFFL does not currently allow live kicking other then a twice a game kickoff and "free" punts
- WFFL games currently consist of 4 20 minute quarters....most games last just about 2 hrs
REGISTRATION
- WFFL currently is all inclusive........meaning the entry fee includes all ref fees (2 refs per game) for the season. You pay one sum up front and no other costs whatsoever
GAME TIMES
- WFFL currently strictly enforces 9:00 and 11:00 game start times allowing all teams to be done by 1:00 on Sundays (does not conflict with NFL)
- WFFL balances schedules to ensure teams have equal amount of 9:00 and 11:00 games for fairness
FEATURES
Currently the league is affordable and all inclusive but by todays means is relatively bare bones. Championship game is traditionally held on turf and is videotaped and aired on waterbury public television and they award sponsor trophy and individual awards. They do not currently use an interactive website, add photgraphy, no cash prizes or stats of any sort.
FYI.....Last years WFFL total fees (paid in full up front) were $800
