| Actually the real reason would be that we can't field a team on Saturday as we have a team wedding to attend. We had our scheduled Land of Lakes game for this Saturday moved already back in February because of this wedding and had thought we would be able to play in the Tri-Co playoffs as the first round was agreed upon at the spring meeting to be played on August 1st. Apparently if you whine to the right people though you can get this "date set in stone" changed to a Saturday instead.

| Agree with u Kenny. The game was supposed to played on the 1st as agreed upon in the begining. The "good ole boys" of the league look out for their own once again. Same reason Horicon doesnt have to forfeit a game in the Rock, that they didnt have enough players for.

| No offense Kenny West Bend but it is always something. West Bend still gets mad about the championship last year, or they complain about the SWABA locations, or they complain about the playoff structure. You lost to Neosho at your own place so deal with it. You guys can go on the road once after your 8 home games out of 10 regular season. Trust me we all get it, you guys are mighty West Bend in the mighty Lakes League, but it doesn't mean your anymore or any less special.

| I really don't think this has anything to do with any given team. This is a problem of changing a rule for a particular team. If the rule said August 1 the game should have been August 1st period.

| Unlike all the others in this topic besides Kenny, I am actually going to post my name and state that I play for Neosho... The "Good Ole boys" and "whiners" talk has to stop. We have sacrificed many home games throughout the last couple of years and it's only fair that we are given a random home game. West Bend 21 home games for the last 3 seasons, Neosho 13 for the last 3 seasons. Why shouldn't the 1st place team be awarded a home game for the playoffs? Own up and don't post unless you post your name!

| Wow Mark, Congrats on posting ur name. How about if u explain why the game wasnt played on Aug 1st like it was agreed upon at the meeting!!!! Despite the fact that we are not even in NL, I know teams like Kew, Ocon, Rub and even Neo, etc prefer to play more games away to keep Saturdays free. Stick to he topic at hand. Games were supposed to be played Aug 1st and u guys didnt for whatever reason. Dont complain about u missing out on home games now. Sounds like ur the one whining.

| You have no idea what you're talking about. We prefer to have our home games at home. We do not prefer to have our Saturdays free. It's a ridiculous statement to say we prefer to pay another town for their lights, lose concession stand money, still pay umps and have less fans in attendence. What is the point of finishing in 1st if you can't have a home game?

| Since several of you have chosen to cowardly go nameless, it makes it really hard to respond to your specific post. To the D-bag who posted #3956739, spell his name correctly. His name is Marc, not Mark. As you could tell because he posted his name. Also, d-bag, were you there when Neosho talked to the Night League brass about playing Saturday instead? Probably not! Pretty sure there was no whining or complaining going on... Quit trolling and trying to pick arguments on forums. You are nothing more than a gutless coward. As for getting our way and playing on Saturday. We were prepared to play on Wednesday night. We discussed which field we would rent and so on. We didn't whine or complain about it. But then the Night League higher ups GAVE us permission to play on Saturday. All we did was ask, since both teams had Saturday available. If you have a problem with that, go to the higher ups for changing the "rule" not us for just asking about pushing back the start time.
Judging by how some of you are cowardly trolls, you probably don't quite understand how most rock river league teams are funded. We don't have sponsers! We don't charge $300 a player to play on our team. We are 100% funded through the concession stand and various other fundraisers. Home games are important to us to help pay for the umps and not having to drop hundreds of dollars to rent a field with lights. So, when the OPTION was given to us, we chose to go the cheaper route. Since money is no object judging by some of your posts. Maybe you would like to buy some of our raffle tickets, participate in our golf outing, buy food from our concession stand (instead of carry in), or get in our MLB playoff pool? But, I doubt that would happen.
There needs to be no additional comments about this or about how we whined our way into a Saturday game. Talk to your elected officer about it!!!
Now, lets quit bitching and sit back and enjoy the best month of RRL baseball!

| I do agree with many of your points, but with that being said, it was stated at the tri-county meeting that the 1st round of the playoffs were to take place on August 1st. NO MATTER WHAT. The officials that are "higher up" should know this. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe West Bend was ready to play Wed night for the 1st round, now they have to opt out because of a already scheduled wedding. For the past 4 season (could be more) the tri-county playoffs have been played into Sept. (as I recall, these playoffs are/where supposed to be done before the rock playoffs?) This makes it hard for teams to come up with guys for the games, especially if you depend on college kids. Example: We played Hartford Sept. 19th, 2010 for the Tri championship. We only had 8 guys for that game. NOT FUN. And the year before that we played Rubicon on Sept 13th.. And last year, we all know the result. If we keep bending the rules this could possibly happen again in the future. I agree that everybody wants their home games and that is why (at the meeting) it was said, "if you make the championship game, and do not have lights. You are able to play that game at your home park." We have to stick with what was agreed upon by the teams of this league. This has been the first year, that I can remember, that the Tri-county regular season, ended when it was supposed to. That was because there were rules put in place, that everybody followed, to make it happen.
I also agree, this is a great time of year. Let's enjoy the rest of it.

| I with 7 Up, and while I will tip my hat to Neosho and their organization, but it is them and the no lights teams that the rule was put in place for so that the season could be completed before the playoffs in the main league started. It was voted to a near majority at the spring meeting. Every team had an opportunity to state their piece.
We were prepared to play on Wednesday, and until last week that was the way the bylaw was stated. Carl contacted me and said that Neosho was appealing because they "won't play away." Now the guy above was right. Saturday, August 4th is A SCHEDULED LAND 'O LAKES GAME DAY! We have a wedding in which our team is committed to. We requested that day off over 5 months ago. This is why we are playing tonight. This was told to Carl. Carl's response was you can have 2 extra roster spots. I told him that it wouldn't help because our league is playing Saturday.
The protest meeting in Hustisford was impossible for any of the playoff participants to attend. Oconomowoc was in Hartland, Kewaskum was in Kewaskum, and we were in West Bend. It doesn't take a genius to figure out which way Carl was going to rule. All 3 other playoff teams voiced that the games should be played on Wednesday. In fact Kewaskum and Oconomowoc don't have lights either and neither complained.
Again this isn't a Neosho thing, this is a clear bylaw that was passed inorder to get the season done. This is the Tri County Night League and NOT the Tri County Saturday Afternoon league.

| I apologize for any misunderstanding about this subject.
This first started when I emailed Jim Z, on July 23rd, that we would prefer to play on Saturday's for our home playoff game. Since both potential teams that we would play didn't have a game on Saturday, it seemed to make sense. We did not know there was a scheduled wedding so that West Bend would not be able to play. When we found out at the meeting, it was agreed that WB could have 2 players from another team to field a full roster. We did not know that that plan fell through too.
On another note, I also mentioned to Jim that we would prefer to play a Friday night instead of Wednesdays. A Wednesday game meant that we would have to pay more for umpiring than we would bring in from fans or concessions. So for Neosho it makes economic sense to play Friday night (which is a Night game) instead.
We could have played last friday or saturday but regular season games were not completed yet. So onto this week: WB could not play Fri or Sat. Next week would then be a possibility.
Now this year there are only 2 playoff games. This would mean that, barring any setbacks with weather or whatever, the championship could be the following week (mid-August). Which is still finishing way before previous years. If these dates wouldn't work then we obviously could have worked something out with WB, like playing this past wednesday. The biggest problem is that there was a lack of communication that caused this whole ordeal.
I think going forward communication should be a #1 priority to make this league and the Rock River League better. Again sorry to West Bend or any other post-people that didn't have the full story.

| Super now these Brookfield guys are going to come out of the woodwork? Stick up for your boys but facts are facts, none of your 4 loss, 5 loss, or 6 loss teams could finish .500 in the Rock. You will learn that lesson Wednesday when Kewaskum kicks your tail's in just like we did to West Bend a few weeks back.

| Seriously why do you Neosho guys have such a problem with us? Like I said earlier this has nothing to do with Neosho and everything to do with the people that run Tri-County. There is no reason...NONE that we should be arguing or getting personal. I get it, you guys don't like us for whatever reason, but at the end of the day, the West Bend 7 Up organization disagrees with the way this whole situation has been handled. If Carl let you guys switch dates or move locations that isn't your problem, my problem isn't with you but with Carl, for basically pushing us out of the way for something that ended up not even happening.
Good Luck to Neosho in the playoffs. Unlike the poster above, we respect the Rock River League, and have the highest regards for many of the teams in it.

| Craig,
Brad was the last person from Neosho to post, all the rest are just people looking to start more arguments.
Neosho did play in Ashippun on saturday and were beat by a very good Brookfield team, hats off to them and good luck in the future. The reason was that the Dodge County Firemans Softball tourney ended up running into Saturday because they didn't have lights and could only play two games a day instead of three. It happens.
Before anyone else chimes in there are some other facts. We rented Ashippuns field for 25 dollars instead of the houndred or more we have to pay fields under lights. We got all concession stand money and collected. Because it was on a Saturday we drew a pretty good crowd including several Hustisford players and did well on concessions, something we wouldn't have done on a Wednesday night. We should put this to bed. Like others have mentioned most teams live and die by collecting money and selling food and beer. A Friday night would be better for that than a Wednesday, but it is my belief a team that win's homefield should have the right to play on their home field or at least a field of their choosing. West bend, there is no hate from me. You guys have always been a great team and I wish you continued success this year. To solve this problem I hope anyone with a horse in this race comes to the meetings next year and we can discuss this like adults and hammer out an executable plan that works for everyone and everyone can agree on.
