| The way I see it...Wednesday has always been 7 vs. 2 and we (Johnny's) will be there to face the 7 seed. If for what ever reason they have to forfeit it is then OUR field for practice.

| Fallen Angel - What was this like your third forfeit? You guys knew what had to be done. Just like Viper said in Top Gun to Maverick
"The hard-deck for this hop was 10,000 feet. You knew it. You broke it. You followed Commander Heatherly below after he lost sight of you. Why?."
"Top Gun rules of engagement are written for your safety and for that of your team. They are not flexible, nor am I. Either obey them or you are history. Is that clear?"
Looks like you are history. Moving along to Sarge. Wish it was Big Sug I was sparring with but message still the same. I guess you guys picked the wrong the year to finish second in the standings. Blame the Angels for getting themselves kicked out. But I understand your angle. Having to wait could cause some rust I suppose. The conspiracy theorist in me and maybe for Johnny's says, since the Sox screwed over Curleys last year, it was your (our) turn in the rotation to get screwed. Trust your instincts you know this to be true. Had you guys finished in first place instead of Curleys, we all know, in "fairness" of finishing first, you would of been given the bye into the semis and the remaining teams would of played the first round series. Either way you were going to get screwed. Just accept it. You'll sleep better at night.
Let the playoffs begin!

Don't throw stones when your team is built on glass , you have some nerve talking about rules lol and I thought you was a straight up guy. Nope just another one of Archie's minions
Like I said happy field hunting!!!!!

| Here is the scoop, On Aug 18 Angels were to play the Cardinals. Didn't have enough so they had to forfeit and pay the $100 (for both teams) umpire show up fee. OK it happens, or in the Angels case a little more than most, but typically the money is paid to the umps right then and there or at least some of it and arrangements are made to get the rest to whatever ump. You know how it goes, the players that are there typically bring their five and that's it. I guess they all forgot their wallets that day or as they got there, heard it was forfeited, turned around and headed out leaving it up to the manager or whoever happened to be there to pony up. I don't know the details but you think they could of come up with half to pay one ump as they would of if the game was played and then get the rest later. But that is speculation. Whatever the case a deadline was set that after the completion of the final day's games if the umpire show up fee was not paid, then they would not play in the playoffs. I sat there this past Sunday for most of the final game and asked Arch if he heard anything. Nothing he tells me. When I see the playoff schedule come out, I knew and probably every other team out there what had happened because this affected other teams as well. As Sarge pointed out yes, the days and times at least the first week of playoffs are set. I was ready for 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday as that's the traditional seeds 4-5 game one and two. Now not only will I have to secure an unexpected Thursday night, now my weekend, at least the afternoons are toast because, now we are the last games to be played on weekends and I don't think it will start exactly on three. Wife will love that but that's my problem and I'll deal the best I can. So a failure to pay not only had ramifications for the Angels it had for everyone in the league. That's my take.

| Well lil papi once again your tmz reporting is full of false misleading info. The Angels forfeited the game at least 4 hours before the game even started so nobody was there at all to even try to pay the one ump. And we were going to pay the $100 that Sunday but Rev didn't make it to church to give Bo the money and Bo had other engagements so please just refrain from even speaking because you sound more ignorant every time you speak.
As far as the pirates you guys should have been kicked off the field along time ago all you do is talk about people, start fights, and smoke weed under the pavilion
Oh and the Angels did at least beat both the cheat sox and the penitentiary pirates , just saying

| I've played in nearly every mens league in St. Louis. This is by FAR the most poorly run one. Peace FOY....you all might want to think about trying to start a campaign to vote this Archie fellow out or this league may just fold in the near future.

So you don't know anyone in the league then. 70 years (next season will be #70 for the FOY) of baseball does not just manifest itself.

| Has Archie been running it for 70 years? I think not...a cheating commissioner will dismantle the integrity of a league. From what I've heard all season the foy doesn't have much integrity as it is. This might be the reason there are only a couple good teams in the league. The top teams here would be lucky to stay out of the cellar in a league like the msbl for example. I predict foy is down to 6 teams next year...have fun playing the same 5 opponents for 30 games.

| To BB_n2_2B:
You are right. I guess this league is poorly run because the lights are low and the field has it's issues. But some feel it is worth the effort to try to do for themselves and make it better. Be it trying to raise funds at a poker night to help the LEAGUE raise cash to pay for improvements or actually pick up a shovel and rake or hoe, and physically do things to the field to make it happen like I have in the past. So you are right it's poorly run.
It's also poorly run because the standard balls that the member teams of the league are to provide, can actually make it thru a game or couple of games as late inning replacements, with out being mangled or deformed after a few hits. Again poorly run?
Or before each game day, the field is prepared by a dedicated person or persons and after each game, tools are provided like water, rakes, a tamper, to repair at least important areas like the mound, and batting area, so the conditions for the teams playing after are somewhat decent. Yes the quality of the field work varies from team to team, but it's nice to know at least something is done between games to make it as good if not better for those playing after you. So yes it's poorly run.
I suppose it's also poorly run because regular MLB American League rules are used to play here. Other than your standard run for the catcher, and things that can be done for injuries provided you have some bench depth, there are no courtesy runners for your slow of foot or hurt. There are no bat your lineup so everybody can participate rules and freely substitute defenders to get out of the heat for an inning or two. It's as real as it gets and for that I guess it is poorly run.
BB_n2_2B you must be the type of player that pays what is expected or if you are lucky have sponsors, but once your dues are met you expect to get your 2-4 at bats a game because you paid. Many are like you but I find you have to be a lot more about the team in the FOY because more strategy and proper maneuvering of assets is involved to field a successful team and I am not factoring whether you win or lose games. I believe you have to have more of the intangibles and because of this, it is poorly run.
Finally, this is an election year if I am not mistaken, and if the current dictator is ousted by this years coup attempt, I mean elected President either steps down or if there is another candidate to vote for then I"ll cast my ballot. So BB_ whoever you are, do you accept the nomination to run for the Presidency? I want to see you on the campaign trail.

| Apparently, you missed one of the key parts of the sentence in question. Maybe you were too focused on coming up with more quotes from Top Gun...I'm not sure. "You all" would not include me in the campaign to get the cheater out. I have no interest in being part of this side show in 2013.
Also, you may want to do something about the smell of weed coming from the pavilion. Disgraceful...they're are freaking kids around the field. Wait til you get home.
Good luck Curley's

| In ANY league, typically, there's a 24 hour rule when calling in games. I don't know all the details and I really don't give a shit...but this obviously wasn't their first forfeit.
As far as this league being ran like shit...please! There are very few people that have the time, devotion, or passion for the game to run something like a league...especially something non-profit. It's not like feeding your dog and letting it outside. There's so much more that goes in to something like this and the bullshit like forfeits just adds to the shit that there really isn't an excuse for.
This league needs a requires dedication from a willing commish to last another 70 years...not any one team threatening to leave. Take a head count after each game. Send a mass text message out the day or two before. People bitch about how the league is ran but these same people have a difficult time running their own team(s).

| OK heres some unnamed douchebag (again) tryin to bash the Pirates. Just so u know! There is no team that has done more for the FOY than the Pirates have since we've been in the league (17 years). We've contributed in every way! What have u done for this league? And in 17 years the Pirates have never had a forfeit and u had 3 this year. Nice job! It's not Archies fault, look in the mirror.

| Crappy baseball? Who gives a fuck?! I don't see anyone in this league anywhere near to getting paid but if you need to measure yourself against the best talent in St. Louis...go ahead and enter the +18 MSBL. I'd rather enjoy good people, cold beer, and fun baseball. Propose a wooden bat league! I never have understood the idea of grown men wanting to hit with metal anyway. Maybe it gives ya'll hard dicks to hit a 250ft popout that carries because you used metal. Whatever helps bang the old lady, right? Haha.

| Please stop glossing over the fact that the weed that is smoked in this league is of the lowest quality. I have seen better weed in bowling alley parking lot in some 16 year olds soda can pipe. You dirtbags have to start realizing that the soil in Granite City may be tainted, so stop smoking that crap or your kids will be affected.
