| I don't think weather would have played a huge role for Thursday, we're not supposed to get a lot of rain. I think pitching may have played a role for Thursday, but I refuse to accuse anyone of anything.

| Like Coach Ditka says, "Stop It!" Sometimes people need to think outside the box. It's always the easiest answer that comes to mind that many believe to be true when there could be another. In today's game of BUY and SELL (Love the show Around the Horn) does anyone recall midway thru season additional funds were collected to try to get thru the end of the year. I do and we all know it took some time to collect unless you are made of money like the Bulls and Johnny's. It's hard asking people for more. Thursday was going to be game three IF NEEDED of the Bulls Sox series. A lot was on the line. I congratulate the Bulls for taking it to the end but we hung on long enough to take it in two.
Since game three was NOT NEEDED, and Johnnys had a dance partner they were finally given a chance to play after a long lay off thanks to the Angels last night. Maybe they could of used a few more extra days before hitting the field going by what happened last night. But stranger things have happened.
Back to my argument. So we had two night games this week which means two nights of field prep and two nights of electricity for the lights. Money is tight. Recent rain hasn't helped as now gas usage is up to keep the field from looking like the football field. So expenses have gone up. Now to help control cost I wager since it was not necessary to play another night game the logical choice was the weekend where it's one day of field prep expense per day and no electricity usage for lights.
So that being said, I guess everyone is willing to buck up more cash. We all know what the answer would be so it's best probably not to ask the question in the first place. That's my take. Responses please

| I think if it was any other team besides the red sox, they would have been playing Thursday night. And your argument of field prep is not totally true. There is a possibility of only one game on Sunday. So that's field prep for only game which could and should've been tonight's game. And it make much more sense to play tonight, that way both series would have played their second games on Saturday and potentially start the championship on Sunday. That's how the league would have saved money, not by skipping the next available open date to play(Thursday). Also about your rain out comment. Games have never not been scheduled because of any chance of rain. Fact is that this benefits the sox, and that's just the way it is.

| That excuse/explanation makes it perfectly clear why 2-3 plays the 1st game Saturday.

| Since STL is a shit city that offers about 50 days/nights of 'good' weather, I would think it would make sense to play TONIGHT since rain is coming. While I trust the local weather man about as much as Archie's ability to count line up cards (sorry Arch, had to take a little jab there!), odds are we will have a rainout or two this weekend.
I truly don't really care, just kinda enjoy this message board chatter! However, it definitely does seem to favor the Sox a bit...nothing new.

| Why does everyone bash the Sox but obviously have no hard feelings when we are on the field? Does it just come to people when they are in front of their computers and feeling tough? Come on, get a life.
1. The league has rules, when the rules are broken, they need to be reported so get over last year because no one filed anything formally against anyone. If they had, the sox would have been out of the playoff's last year instead of taking down the championship. Mind you that was with out the illegal young prodigy you all feel we brought in from the Cape Cod league. Was it right? No. Was it reported? No. Get over it.
2. Everyone knows archie is chubby. Even he does. Does it do any good or do you think it hurts his feelings to remind him of it? Its not something to be made fun of and he actually has health concerns that almost caused him to not lead the sox last year. Have a little heart. Telling people they are pot heads or terrible at baseball is one thing but bashing peoples health is another. Other people are heavy in this league as we know. Plus were all getting old and most a little fatter than we were in our prime.
3. For all teams. Let your actions speak on the field and take off your boxing gloves behind the computer.
4. People say how bad the FOY sucks. Its like most things in life where you can leave if you dont agree. Players Play, Bitches Bitch.
5. The league is hilarious and not ment to be as professional as everyone thinks it should be. Its recreation baseball for old guys that inflict pain on their bodys to have a good time and prove they still got it.
Lighten up and have a good time. It isnt the end of the world if your team loses in this leage. Its a cool trophy but not that cool. The beer drinking (for me) and weed smoking (not for me) with your buds is usually the best part.
See you all this weekend and good luck- Sox #16

| Papi your arguement for Johnnys playing on wednesday and not us makes no sense. How does Curley's get screwed for winning the regular season title? Since you beat the bulls in two games, we also had a dance partner. The number one seed should have the advantage of playing a team that is on short rest in my opinion. I guess we will see your best arms, since they have plenty of rest.

| This response should be in the smack talk thread but you are right. The real number one seed (and don't deny it) is Johnny's because they are Johnny's, the biggest and baddest mofos around. The AP and computer polls back me up on this. And that's the fact Jack, I mean Greg.

| If you check pg 11 of Wednesday's USA Today box scores (not really, in case any of you dumbasses run to the local 7-11) I think you will see a 12-3 pistol whippin of the so-called "baddest Mofos around." Johnny's days are numbered, pass the torch.
