| The current ranking system has been put in place with the emphasis on acknowledging all of the 9-man community regardless of organizational affiliation. Whether your team has participated in MCFFU, USFTL, TFFCS or any other independent organzations events throughout the 2012 calender year, your participation and success in those events has been recorded and calculated. In researching all events for the year it was determined that events consisted of either one PRO or A division, mixed competition seperated into PRO (A) and OPEN (B) on Sunday or 2 independent divisions of PRO (A) and OPEN (B). Any teams that participated in PRO (A) events or events that combined PRO (A) and OPEN (B) at any point were treated as one. Any teams that participated in events or divisions of events that were exclusively OPEN (B) were then ranked seperately. Due to the variation in points awarded and values from one organization to another, we simply took wins and losses and calculated every teams winning percentage for the year. This may or may not be the best formula moving forward, but for the sake of the upcoming nationals we feel it gives equell value to all potential participants while still allowing the "cream" to rise to the top. After all results were tallied it was determined that a minimum amount of games played must be administered for fairness, otherwise how accurate of a barometer would the rankings be of a team went to one event in march, went 4-0 and did not participate the rest of the year. With that said an 8 game minimum was established. As stated above, we acknowledged that teams had the option to play in either PRO (A) or OPEN (B) throughout the year and our rankings reflect that by creating 2 divisions also. The only difference is that our top division, is compartmentalized to reflect the 8 game minimum requirement.
DIVISION I......
This is the highest division available and represents not only the best of the best in 9-man but all 9-man teams who have participated in top tier events all year long. Wins and losses are calculated, teams with 8 games or more are seperated into this division and sequentially ranked based on overall winning percentage.
DIVISION I-AA.......
Those teams who participated in less then 8 games at this level throughout the course of the year are still eligible to play in DIVISION I, however they are ranked based on their own winning percentage after the lowest ranked team with a minimum of 8 games played (see rankings).
NOTE......
All DIVISION I and I-AA teams will be paired together for Friday and Saturdays qualifying rounds at Nationals. At that point the top 16 teams (based on record and point differential) will advance to the DIVISION I CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND (Single Elimination) on Sunday. The remaining teams who did not qualify for Sundays top 16 will be placed in their own DIVISION I-AA Bracket to determine the DIVSION I-AA Champion for the year.
DIVISION II.......
Also refered to as the comp, Open or B division, this division will be offered at a lower entry fee then DIVISION I (as there will be no cash prize) and is open to all teams regardless of seeding or ranking. Teams that participated in these events throughout the year were recognized and awarded rankings based on their win loss record and win percentage as well.
At the moment we are still awaiting results from the following tournaments in order to bring the rankings to a current status.........
