| What we need next year is a real legit public high school football tournament. See the string below....the longest thread on this site. Get the rigged private schools and their recruits in their own prep bowl. See you next year.

| Yes, we need a public school playoffs. Let the private school who "Recruit" play themselves.

| I never understand this argument against private schools. I believe we need a better "opt up" rule to make teams like Orchard Lake Saint Marys and Brother Rice have to play at a higher division level. But how you decide a team should opt up, is the question. Would Farmington Hills Harrison be forced to out up to Division I, or have the option to do so?
Since the addition of 8-man, 7 of the 8 state title winners in the top 4 divisions have been from private schools. The exception being Zeeland West. In the lower levels, 6 of the 8 state title winners were public schools. So overall 7 of 16 winners over the last two years were public schools.
So I guess this is more a gripe for larger schools. I don't see the issue, recruiting happens even by public schools. Especially in cities like Rochester or Clarkston where there are private school students who end up going to public school for grades 9-12. If you don't think the Rochester public schools covet the abilities of a special football player at Holy Family any less than the private schools in the area, you are mistaken.
