| Has anyone noticed the 10 year old team the VIPERS. I am pretty sure the parents requested the kids to be together for carpooling reasons, but yet all parents are at every game. Travel kids should NOT be allowed to play in REC!., it is unfair to the other kids!! There has to be a better way to draft more fairly... This league is a joke! They are 9-0 and the last game won 48-8.... They stacked their team unfairly and the league needs to look into this.,,

| I am sorry to hear your concerns regarding a team being "stacked with travel players." This is a recreation league and we cannot deny applicants because of their playing ability and/or team associations. However, you are correct, the purpose of the draft is to evenly divide the players up. For that reason we conduct blind drafts. I pride myself on making sure the drafts are done fairly. This year in the Jr. Boys (check the standings), you'll see that the teams in the top 5 slots were pretty competitive. Five of the six remaining teams were also competitive. Throughout the division, the overwhelming majority of the games came down to the final minutes. I take your concerns seriously, and I hope you take the time to personally email me through the link on the website. I will personally take a look at the situation with your division. If there is a team that is stacked with travel team players, I can assure you right now.......... IT WILL NOT BE REPEATED NEXT YEAR! While it is the policy to keep siblings in the same division on the same team, there has been abuse of the so called, "car pooling request." It is not the practice in my division to make accommodations for car pooling. I will address your concerns. And I think it safe to say you will see some changes next season. All players in this league should have and deserve to have a fun, positive experience. Michael Harding,VP OBBA

| Anonymous: I'm just seeing this & find it interesting that you seem so sure in what you know & yet so wrong. There was only 1 travel player on the team & he only played in half of the games. One of the best players on the team was a FIRST time rec basketball player. The parents were not at every game because I happen to be one of them. My sons have been on plenty of losing teams where it seems that one strong team was placed together due to various reasons that seem suspicious. In rec, you never know what you're going to get. Making accusations that myself, as a parent colluded with other parents to make 'winning' team. Now, THAT is unfair. Kristine Grissett I choose to not be anonymous
