| We have been getting alot of feedback about eliminating the current rule of kicking off after every score. With that said i'd like to hear from all of you what you think.....
Personally, I feel special teams are major part of the game and their are some electric returners in the league and it addds an element of excitement BUT i understand people feel it slows the game down and is an added injury risk
Also, this year we have the on-side kick rule, which is as follows.......
If the trailing team kicks off inside the 2 minute warning of the game (2nd half), they can "recover" or "gain possession" by deflagging the return man prior to the ball passing the return teams 20 yard line. If that is doen, the kicking team will gain possession of the ball on the 50 yard line. A ball kicked into the endzone may be kneeled by the receiving team as a touchback and possession will remain with the receiving team.
If we were to change the rule to kicking only to start the halves, I believe we should keep the odside kick rule in place.....
Thoughts and feedback appreciated

| i say if you keep kickoffs after every score then you need to have refs do a countdown so teams are forced to get onto field immediately after the score. Now teams walk to sideline after score and slowly make their way onto field as time is running and refs dont care so they just let everybody walk onto field and take forever setting up the kickoff and kickoff return. so either have 30 second countdown with 15 yd penalty for every delay by either team. Or just abolish it and do it only after half and beginning of game.

| I think there should be one kick-off at the start of the game and one at the half...If a team is trailing and scores with under two min, than they should have the opportunity to "onside kick"...Otherwise, there shouldn't be any other kick-offs... it takes too much time away from the game... just my opinion!

| people don't want it cause there squad suck on special teams, the receiving team slow, or the receiving team scored on them too much and they are big girls and scared. Its probably all the old guys on the league too. Kick off bring a lot of excitement, the momentum of the game can be changed real quick too. chris please don't take off kickoffs

| The issue is clock...it takes about 5 /8 minutes From TD to the kick off..its taking way to much time off the overall clock and it takes away from teams possesions. Most teams kick it out of bounce anyways...Have one kick At the begining and one kick at half. TIME SHOULD STOP DURING TDS . Refs are not keeping time and its taking way to long from Td to oppenents next possesion. Must teams get only 2 possesions per half ????

| I think for me the major issue is the time loss because of these kick offs. If you could guarentee that after a touchdown the game clock would stop and then enforce the 45 sec rule to get off the kick i could see keeping all the kick offs. But it definitely slows down the flow of the game when your trying to get 9 guys on the field, the other team is taking their time to set up...gotta have 5 guys on the front line...ball gets kicked out of bounds...flag on the play, offsides....line back up, kick it again...guess where it went? out of bounds again. I know its a part of the game and i am always willing to do whatever it takes but it might actually make the league better if teams are getting more possessions rather than losing this clock time to kickoffs.

| you dudes are so dumb sometimes...has nothing to do with people worrying about getting hurt. special teams end up taking up half the game. Id rather see more offensive possessions than dumb ass kickoffs. and to last comment you just sound dumb. If you notice the top teams just want to play good comp the rules dont keep them from playing in hartford or waterbury.

| It's actually funny this is coming up because I was just talking to our coach Carlton Doty and I told him straight up that I wasn't doing special teams anymore. I'm sure I'm coming across as a whiny bitch right now but the whole running full speed at someone down the field on the kickoffs isn't for me. I'm sure there was a time in the past when I wouldn't have cared but the injury risk goes way up and I have a mortgage and bills to pay. Just can't risk it.

| You shouldn't have to rely on special teams to score points. Just give the ball to the offense

| I like special teeams but I agree with both points being made
1) Time: This takes a considerable time off the clock in most cases. The clock should be stopped from extra point result to being kicked off. Solved the issue entirely.
2) Injury: A lot of people are concerned about 2 groups of people running at each other full speed without pads on. Look at how the NFL has changed the rules a bit. I feel we do the same. Too many players straight up looking for someone to blindside. Physicality is part of this league, but guys purposely looking to find someone to blindside is unacceptable.
Chris I like this open discussion. Lets see what everybody else has to say. Keep workin hard all.

| The clock should stop after each score and teams should have only 30 seconds to kick the ball off in order to keep games going at the right pace....
The problem is that many teams will not kick off and kick the ball out of bounds and under the old rule takes time off the game clock and cheapens the game because teams will just kick it out and waste valuable game time for the oppossing offenses.
So let's not penalize the offense and stop the clock and give teams 15 yard penalties if they don't kick off in 30 seconds 45 seconds max

| Here it is, after every score no kick off, put ball on 30 yard line, 1st and 10 from the 30? End of game kickoff stay the same, have to get pass the 20, and that should. Be that?

| Everyone just kicks the ball out of bounds anyway, get rid of kickoffs after every score- its a waste of time, trust me! Instead of 1st and 10 from the 30, its always 1st and 5 from the 35. It cheapens the game.

| Kickoffs are a fun part of the game but i do agree with the majority on this one. They are doing the game more harm than anything else by taking valuable time that should go to possession. They are very dangerous too, most of us have jobs and responsibilities and cannot afford to be getting hurt.
2 kick offs every game: 1 to start and 1 at half. If you could find a way to work in the possibility of onside kicks at the end of the game that would be cool too.

| I think we should just have 2 kickoffs a game at the start and at the half and if an onside is needed then go with the onside rule that was already in place. After every score just place the ball on the 30 and have 1&10.
