| Lets hope the fields are in better condition than i saw the other day. long grass and lots of water.
Hawks/Havoc -
Hawks should be the favorite here and there Defense should shine it it keeps up its solid play. Havoc should think and concentrate on just scoring points this week because if they get shutout again this week that might be a CFFL record of consecutive goose eggs. I expect the Hawks defense to set the tone and their offense should be able to squeak out a TD or 2. If not maybe the defense will get a TD for them.
Hawks 12 - Havoc 6
Wolves/Patriots -
Wolves have themselves a tough day with a doubleheader and it starts off with a Patriots team that should still be flying high off the big upset they put on the league last week. Im still trying to remove the boot from my mouth. Pats defense is showing signs of being able to dictate a game and the Wolves might not be up to the task of showing them they cant. the wolves are the lone winless team in the CFFL and will need to play on a level they have not yet to get a WIN in this one. The Wolves should hope that the Pats are going to have a Big Win hangover and show up not ready to play. But i think the Pats show up ready.
Patriots 13 - Wolves 7
Wolves/Second String -
Well this one might get ugly. Second String is playing as well as any team in this league right now. And you would expect that Early MVP candidate Brian Gelsomino will be clicking yet again with twin Brother Jason and co. If the Wolves somehow get a W in their first game this might stay close for a little while, But if they take and L against the Pats expect this one to be out of hand soon.
Second String 24 - Wolves 6
Bears/Dolphins -
This one could have been a GOTW candidate no doubt. The Dolphins come into this one walking wounded after the upset dropped on them last week. and Mentally they cant be happy knowing that if not for a forfeit WIN they would be on the wrong side of .500 right now. Now with the Bears staring at them with hungry eyes since they werent able to go out and eat last weekend with a bye. Im guessing Ish has them ready to go after resting up. This could have some serious playoff implications. Dolphins lose here and they are .500 and with a Bears win they would leapfrog them in the standings. Just dont know if the dolphins can handle very physical games and the bears are as physical as they come in this league.
Bears 7 - Dolphins 6
GAMES OF THE WEEK:
Bulldogs/Assassins -
Who would have this 2 weeks ago that the Bulldogs would be in need of a much needed win? and yes myself and others think that they are in this position due to outside of playing circumstances BUT hey they are in this spot and need to not break down and get this win. they were some rumblings last week after the game that they were going to have a tough time getting guys this weekend also. The Assassins on the other hand have been red hot since their week 1 loss, outscoring their opponents to a tune of a 56-12 clip. Troy has been on point as well, throwing for 546 yds and 5 Tds during this stretch. Im not sure what im most interested in seeing the game itself or just the matchup between Tyrece and Marlon? Im leaning towards the latter. "get your popcorn ready" Unfortunately The Bulldogs are the same old Bulldogs to me. TONS of talent and repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot and not having a consistent team week in and week out. This one has upset all over it. the Assassins are just playing at to high of a level for me not to pick them here.
KEY MATCHUPS: Troy vs. Bulldogs DL and LB's Cervizzi vs. Assassins DL BUT REALLY ITS JUST MARLON VS. TYRECE
Assassins 18 - Bulldogs 14 ***UPSET*** kinda
Steelers/Vikings -
Rocket and co. got over the hump that is the Bulldogs finally last week (maybe with a little extra help lol) but Rocket was a force yet again and the DL was in Cervizzi's head all game. The only undefeated team left in the CFFL should be ready for every team's best shot week in and week out. This week wont be any different. The Vikings need a big win desperately losing to the only 2 teams that were actually preseason playoff picks on their sch so far. This team had a lot of hype beginning this season and they havent really lived up to it. This is a game that could definitely set them back on track. Aubrey is going to have to find the holes in the steelers defense and exploit them. Not sure the Vikings want to get into the physical nature type of game like they showed last week because the Steelers will bring it and the calls def wont go their way this week. Im going with the Steelers here (i have to or i might get flagged by the refs) no no im just playin i had to...Steelers are playing as well as i have seen in years. this does have that CFFL Undefeated team upset smell to it but i just dont think it happens this week
KEY MATCHUPS:
Rocket vs Entire Vikings defense Shields vs Fisher Aubrey vs the Steelers LB's DL vs OL both ways. Steelers 21 - Vikings 14
Good luck and wish all those moms out there a Happy Mothers Day!!!
