Author TOPIC: WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?
A Former Player

From cars being towed, to football players turning to boxers, to Refs calling their wives, childrens games. Am I the only one who is tired of the bullllllllllll? I don't think so.

Something must be done. Immediate changes should be made. We are getting into the playoffs and every team deserves a FAIR shot. I am OUTRAGED! Must be nice having coaches of a team so close to the refs. This is plain old "bad bidnezz". The Commissioner should intervene because this shhhh is getting old. Too much at stake to continue to allowing "one team" unfair advantages, play after play after play, game after game after game. Must be nice! I wouldn't be proud thoigh, cos the Refs are giving unfair advantages. "My daddy made that bogus call, for me!" How convenient!

I know I am not alone. Sound the alarm! The badnezz really needs to come to an end! When will enough be enough? Season after season. Year after year. SMDH. Enuf is enuf!

I saw todays game and it was a great contest between 2 very good teams. I saw the pass interference when the Mambas hit the MW receiver in the back, I saw several blocks in the back by Mambas players (most of which were not called) and the blatant ones were, I saw the Mambas qb flag guard by dropping her elbow and the ball by her flag in traffic (not called), I saw the Mambas player score with one of her flags tucked, I saw plenty of holding (some called some not), but what I saw most was 2 very competitive teams playing good clean football with a game that could have gone either way.

As far as the refs....some improvement is needed but they are trying (for the most part). As far as all of the extra curricular I see going on it needs to stop. Some players are playing "dirty" football and it needs to stop and needs to be controlled by the guys in stripes.

Nothing is ever perfect. Since you are a former player maybe you should take a reffing class, join an organization and effect change by reffing. Maybe you will understand both sides then.

Take care

I will not respond on the bs about the refs and the game but I.will respond about the parking lot but for.3 years we have been down deanwood and never had an issue about tge parking UNTIL the ice cream truck that sales the food. he is the reason why OUR LEAGUE is not allowed to park in the school lot bc he wanted to.hate on other venders that are saling food.........so.I.wont be spending any money with him bc he caused the players and the fans to have to park ontge street and walk so if u want to talk about something talk about that.

have a good day!

I appreciate this board for allowing us to share our thoughts in regards to the league, games, etc., I hope that rather than become defensive about critics, we embrace them and use the criticism as a way to improve. The issue regarding refs being neutral is a legitimate one and worthy of the attention of those that contract w/the refs. Teams and coaches that are impacted should have confidence that their teams will have a fair shot! Just my two cents.

Are there any league stipulations that forbid refs that are partial/family from working games that involve players that they are associated? If not, it may be a good idea to adopt one. Doing so would only be advantageous to the league. It would reassure teams and coaches, decrease &/or eliminate any questions/issues regarding partiality, and make our league stronger! Any negative impacts?

Wow - glass houses and stones. If you're going to be the grammar/spelling police, it's wise to post a response free of errors. The word is irks (with an "i" and no apostrophe which signifies possession).

All refs makes bad calls in every form of sports. Now with the relationship issue that's up to the higher power but lets not forget about the COMMISIONER having a team also so ask George how many calls does he gets? He will problay say none so if the COMMISIONERS team gets no calls why is all the other teams complaining. #Yall Kill Me

Y'all kill me with the complaints about the refs. First off, 75% don't know any rules but are quick to complain to the refs about an apparent rules violation. Then you complain about favoritism being shown to certain teams bases on relationships, etc... If you been around this game long enough, you bound to be cool with coaches, players, etc...But don't let a new ref come down there and mess a call up, y'all will be quick to tear his ass down too, saying that he don't know the rules cause he new...too y'all.

I suppose its the refs fault when yall out there fighting, dropping passes, missing blocks/flags, got coaches that don't know anything about the game...If you spend more time practicing and focusing on your craft and allow the refs to make the calls without all that cackling in his ear, then maybe the game might go smoother

Actually, if the refs did a better job at paying attention then there probably wouldn't be so many fights. Most ppl are not out there fighing over ONE play. It's usually after continuous "holding","choking", "tripping", and other dirty play going on that ppl begin to get frustrated, and then it all goes another level. It is the refs job to maintain the order on the field, so if one feels that the refs are not doing that then eventually they will take matters into their own hands!

The refs are interested and commenting on threads. Houston, we definitely have a problem! Ref 74, where do they do that at?8*) Interesting... not surprising, though!

So cause a player holds you, you have to fight? Ref can call that penalty and if you want to fight, you a grown man/woman you are gonna fight. We are flag football refs, not MMA/Boxing. A Ref not paying attention, I can't speak to that...but missing a call does happen. NFL has 7 refs watching 22 players, and we have 3 watching 16. They getting paid 6 figures to do that, we getting $25-30 a game...and they miss calls all the time. Not an excuse to be a terrible ref, but just the facts. So if the ref is in position to make the call, and doesn't make it...obviously in their opinion it wasn't a call to be made.

I don't know how many times I've seen players literally stop mid-play cause they saw a call and expected a flag to be thrown only to not happen and the player gets a big gain...but that's the ref's fault too I guess? Play to the whistle is blown...

Its funny cause the folks who do the most complaining probably just started playing football a few years ago when most of the refs been playing, watching and reffing football all of their lives. Folks should just worry about the fundamentals and just play through it. Mistakes are going to happen.

Mistakes are one thing. Steps that leagues take to protect the integrity of games are another. The latter is what has been questioned in this post, as I understand it.
