Well, well pretty sure we just had the most exciting weekend of the season. Upset was the theme of this Sunday. What a day of Football!!

Patriots 9 - Hawks 3

In a offense move Pats sit QB AJ Deleon for Jose Santiago and not sure that was the right decision? Santiago (3/9 6 yds passing) didnt exactly light it up, but than ran the ball pretty well with Colon (45 yards rushing) leading the way. Tim Rush (150 yds passing) put in a solid effort but no Td's and 1 INT isnt going to help this team get wins. Both teams have had defenses that have played well all year and struggling offenses so no one should have expected this on to be high scoring.
Side Note: Kash you should think about adding a FG Kicker stat area, lots of FG's this year.

Ducks 16 - Wolves 0

Well the Wolves can never be accused of not giving everything in every game. Because they had this on major upset alert most of this game. I might believe that if Pabon was there they might have come up with an upset. But in the end the talent of the the ducks came out on top. Spence (182 yds passing 2 TD's 2 INT's) again having an all too familiar Spence day. Hanif and Vanguilder combined for 155 yds receiving 2 TD's carried the Ducks. Kudos to the Wolves D for holding the always dangerous Maddog (38 yds on 11 attempts)in check.

Bulldogs 21 - Havoc 20

This one would have been the cherry on the top of Upset sunday in the CFFL Sunday. Why because no one including myself thought this one was going to be close. Tyrece (and others) i guess were given the day off with the thinking that this was going to be easy. Well Havoc showed up and almost knocked you out Bulldogs. Being a Bulldogs bandwagoner i found myself pulling for Havoc near the end of this one. Just felt like the Bulldogs didnt take them serious and that kind of sh*t bothers me. Havoc QB Colon (242 yds passing 2 TD's)had a big one against a weak Secondary effort by the Bulldogs. and a player has come onto my radar Gio Ortiz (116 yds receiving and a TD) also a great conversion catch to take the lead. Bulldogs said No Tyrece no problem as Cervizzi (393 yds passing 3 TD's) breaks a single game passing record. Most of it going to Bartunek, Gonzalas who i think wore #19), Harris combining 343 yds receiving and 3 TD's. Bartunek (whom i say is easily one of the most UNDERRATED players in the CFFL) was the difference maker here. Havoc i pulled (as most were on the sideline) for you but the Cervizzi train was not going to be stopped as he connected with Harris on a 2 pt conversion to win it with no time left.

HitSquad 6 - Assassins 0

Well if there is any doubt who the best defense is in the league you have your answer. HITSQUAD!!!! Troy and co. were stifled on the offensive side of the ball. Managing only 110 yds of offense. HitSquad added 6 sacks, Harris (3 Sacks) lead the way. Brevon Williams added and INT. The defense was just unbelievable to watch. At times it seemed like they were playing with 15 guys. HitSquads offense wasnt as fluent as a week ago but it was enough to get the Job done. Assassins Defense not to be overlooked here had themselves a strong performance as well. allowing only allowing 158 yds of offense and nabbing 2 sacks and 2 INTS. HitSquad you deserve all the praise from me and others for years now you have been getting blasted for nto winning the BIG games well in back to back weeks you have done it twice. Like you should be feeling, i aswell feel that YOU ARE A CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER!!!!

Second String 6 - Dolphins 0

I know this game is just an area of much drama/debate right now and what happened here was a punk move on ALL PARTS. I did not see the actual beginning of the mess or what actually started it. I have heard some conflicting reports. But either way both teams should be punished for the incident and severely. No matter what the real story is, it was embarrassing. On to the actual game it wasn’t a bad game, it was being played tough on both sides . Maybe a little of hangover on S.S part from the Steeler game and Blah attitude on the Dolphins part. 2 teams with high octane offense gave us a dud. J. Gelsomino (80 yds receiving and a TD) and Cooper (83yds receiving) did their best to get the W for their respective squads. J.G. was able to find the endzone and that was the difference here. At the end of the day the loss would effectively knock the Dolphins out of the playoff picture and Second String went out and finished off a great day for them and went 2-0 taking over the number one seed in the league.

GAMES OF THE WEEK:

Bears 21 – Steelers 14

Da Bears are for Real. I cant believe how far this team has come from week one. The defense has really stepped it up and secondary even more. I guess they really didn’t like being called a weakness. Rocket (3/18 76 yds passing 1 TD 1 INT) had no answer in the passing game for Da Bears defense. Only completing one pass and most of it was on one big play in the second half on a connection to Darnell Simpson for 59 yd TD catch. No one expect this kind of play out of the Bears Defense. It might need to be put in the conversation of being one of the best in the CFFL. Rocket (97 yds rushing) did some damage on the ground BUT no TD’s and big plays, that is just what the Bears Defense needed to do. I have seen some major areas of concern with the Steelers in recent weeks and today it caught up with them. Mainly the bad play out of the Secondary, not taking any credit away from Ish (160 yds passing 2 TD’s 1 INT) but he isn’t the most polished passer but he was able to complete 13/17 passes. I also saw numerous screen plays run and that should have been playing into the heart of that Steeler Defense at the LB position and that battle was won mightily by the Bears. Ish there is nothing more to say to you and your team. YOU ARE THE SURPRISE OF THE CFFL AND DESERVE ALL THE CREDIT FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS YOU HAVE ATTATINED SO FAR THIS SEASON. CONGRATULATIONS, AND KEEP IT UP!!!

Second String 21 – Steelers 6

Im not sure what to think about this one? One would have to think that the Steelers were still reeling from the loss they had just taken and were a little tired but every team has had to play a double header this season so I got no sympathy for you (not that you would ever ask for it) . You had a Chance to show some resiliency and fight back and get a W after facing some adversity for the first time this season. You did not answer the call. All the credit to Second String who twin combo got it done again. B. Gelsomino (143 yds passing 2 TD’s) and J. Gelsomino (108 yds receiving 2 TD’s). IM JUST WONDERING DOES ANYONE IN THE LEAGUE NOT KNOW THAT BRIAN GELSOMINO LOVES THROWING TO JASON GELSOMINO? I again point to the secondary of the Steelers and not being able to get the job done. Rocket (136 yds passing 1 TD) seemed to be having a solid game at QB so im not sure why for the switching of the position? I would be hard pressed not to mention the name Anselmo (6 flags 4 sacks) this kid can really play. Second String way to do your thing Sunday and get 2 very big wins. Steelers lets hope this was just an off weekend and you will have al fixed come playoffs.

I feel that sometimes you guys forget that this is a RECREATIONAL sporting event. No one gets paid to play Sunday (and if you do you the one paying you is an idiot), everyone goes home to their respective families, then wakes up and goes to work on Monday. Im all for trash talk and banter it makes the game exciting but there is a line where it ends. KEEP IT ON THE FIELD AND SOLVE IT WITH YOUR PLAY. FYI you have no idea who is at these games. The minute you take this wonderful opportunity to play a game you love for granted it will be gone. Kash has done so much to keep this league going you have no idea. If you think being allowed to run a football league in Hartford at Colt Park is easy you're not paying attention.

I gave Bears some heat a few weeks back. Pass me some bread I'm eating my words. This team could possibly be in the championship game? Question is against who? ESPN your thoughts please

sound like teams dont want to admit it but second string is for real. these boys have won everywhere they play..already beat all the top hartford teams, last year beat bulldogs and gunz this season beat bears and steelers. 7 straight wins after losing to bulldogs week 1. mite not always be pretty but they get the job done

CFFL and No Name.

here are my top 4 right now:

Second String is for real and i dont think anyone ever said they werent. I did say that i fell like they struggle with more physical teams and they showed this weekend that they can handle a physical team. I think the lack of depth might catch up to them. YES you're correct it isnt pretty but they always seem to get the job done.

Bears are the hot team here in the CFFL and playing like a perennial contender not a rookie team here in the league. They are big, deep, physical, athletic and most important all buying into what Ish is selling. This team is dangerous because they are all believing they can win the whole thing. the beat the Bulldogs this Sunday and watchout.

Steelers i know they had hiccup this past weekend and have ppl asking questions about how good these guys are right now? THEY ARE OK!! they got lumped up Sunday and will get up and get back to winning. These guys are to good to be counted out. OH yeah and they have ROCKET!!

Bulldogs were my favorites at the start of the season and still are. When the Gunz players are around i still think they are to good all over the field. We havent seen the Gunz guys in sometime but im guessing they will be present for the playoffs. a Forfeit Loss and a call that could be argued are the only reason they are still not undefeated. Heres a Name for you TYRECE no one has stopped him yet this season and i dont see that happening the rest of the way. This team has so much talent everywhere.

my prediction is still if the playoffs started today

Bulldogs over Bears in chip

This is just my opinion, When teams add players from another team that's not in the league it shows they don't believe they have a shot at winning "IT". I think the Bulldogs are a great team but no confidence if they need the Gunz

Show and Boddie have played with us in the past. Just like Rece plays with them. And why would we say no to Mad Fast or Pito?!! Nothing to do with confidence....you NEVER hear us say "So and so wasn't here, that is why we lost". Please don't get it twisted. Teams should always try and stack up rosters in order for quality depth. Especially in the SEC!lmao

I'm not even going to go back and fourth because like I said it was just my opinion but your still a great team Gonz. Let's just say Gunz players show up and you win the whole thing, Guess what? Not only would you be able to say you finally won 1 in the SEC but you would also be able to say"We couldn't have done it without the Gunz"

I dont think the Bulldogs need the GUNZ to win it this year. that team on offense is stacked and can score whenever they want it seems like. Defense is the issue and not the DL thats is near the top in the league. Its the secondary and its here one game gone the next play so far this season. if they could figure it out back there and be consistent they are real tough to beat.

NETWORK..you are right about that, and it is something we talked about ahead of time but at the end of the day you gotta make your team better whenever you can and balling against teams like the Gunz and Steelers you end up with a ton of mutual respect for eachother and end up playing together at some point.( Steeldogs ) Believe me. We could have been ALOT deeper then 4 Gunz. But we can't worry about haters. We gotta worry about the Steelers and Bears, while having nightmares about that HIT Squad D....and then a commish who don't like us! lmao

ESPN and Kash that is exactly my point if Bulldogs secondary need help they have to fix it within the Bulldogs camp not just 1 time seasonal players and Kash your right they have been to multiple Championships against who??? The Gunz. End of the day I have all the faith in the Bulldogs that they can not only play in Multiple championship games but also win multiple championship games. Scenario #2, let's once again say Bulldogs do win this season and lose next season guess what the saying would be then? They only won because they had Gunz players on their team and everybody know the no names are going to have a field day saying that on here. All I'm saying I believe Bulldogs got what it takes to win without outside help. It's the BULLDOGS we talking about here 1 of the best teams playing this game today. Gonz how many teams you think having nightmares about that offense you guys got? Majority of the league does and they'll be lien if they said they don't.
