There's like 3 or 4 subject headers I could give this. We're always about ranking the teams and it's by far the most discussed topic on the board... but what about the players?

This is not meant to get personal, but curious how everyone sees players from other teams. I think it's fun because we're going to see a bunch of these guys on July 13th, East vs. West. I think it'll be a fun matchup.

So, from each team, is it a pitcher? Is it a hitter? Who are their top players. We can call out position if the names are unknown.

I'll take a crack at the St. Paul League...

NE: Tijl (CF) is by far their best all around player. Vogel is the amateur version of Adam Dunn but he can still burn you with a few bombs. Don't kick his bat.

Sport and Spine: 1st baseman is pretty dec.

AFU: A shell of their former team. Mr. Catcher guy and Charlie Soukup are probably their best guys. Also, Leslie when he's there.

Shammys have a lot of new faces. Kimlinger and Salmen are pretty consistent with the leather. Lanky first baseman guy is apparently taking the year off. Probably SS and CF are their best all-around guys. They have a new pitcher who seems pretty dec.

TC is definitely improving but still nowhere close to being good enough to behave the way they do. Kelly and their catcher from last year are the best players on the squad.

Rosetown: Not sure. I remember one of their middle infielders is good and their ace (RH) is legit.

HP: They basically win games by playing lock-down D. Their CF and 1B can slug when they're on and the whole squad can steal bases. Lack of O makes them susceptible to lots of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 losses.

Blue Package: Also a squad without a "best player". SS is streaky but can be pretty good. Seems like a revamped teamnot a lot of familiar faces.

Butt Pirates: Really solid righty pitcher. Leadoff hitter can move pretty good. Their first baseman can hit the crap out of the ball.

Caps: Tossey.

I'll give a crack at the Park National.

Angels - Mike Carrell (OF) and or most of their pitching. Carrell has always been one of the toughest out in the league. Morshing and Beers are the pitchers we have seen this year...both are worthy.
Blue Sox - Catcher Mick Zawinski
Patriots - Adam Seaman (C) or Paul Odegaard (OF)
Pub - Schildgen at SS, Royce Diop, Meister, grab another hitter anywhere. Hurt, Knault, Hopkins, etc. (Love You AuggieTech!)
Metro - Laukkonen although he is hurt. Leadoff guy is solid...don't know name. Refuse to name others.
Cobras - My team...so Reinhart, Quarberg, Krause, Schroeder on the mound.
River Rats - Loeffler is a tough out, Schultz throws an ephus.
Lakers - Lucas Skjefte is ridiculous (2b), most of their pitching staff.

No disrespect to anyone I might have missed. Conley...I've honestly never seen you play...

Deep league...going to seriously contend for a title.

I agree on about half of these names. Yet a lot of the guys you listed are based on reputation from the past. I will pick the top two or three from each team that are deserving.

Lyons Pub. DH Hurt,P Cousins, OF Diop
Lakers. 2B Skjefte, P Genrich,
Cobras. 1B Quarberg, P Shroeder, 3B Reinhart
Merchants. SS Camp, OF Ohland
Patriots. C Seaman, P McDonald
Angels. P Morsching, P Beers, OF Carrol
Rats. OF Leofller
Blue Sox. C Zawinski

There are plenty of guys that I missed so no disrepect like Poose Pow said.

I am 100% certain I am not an all star this year. Aaron Clark (2B) has been our best player by far hitting over .400 in league and non-league games with 2 HR and about 10 2B. A lock for the all star team.
Ben Schultz is a grinder and always a tough pitcher. If he had a better team behind him he would be an all-star for sure.

I will chime in. I assume Poose Paw (whatever the hell that means) is Borman. Thanks for the OG respectful name drop for All Star consideration.

Even though I am 3-0 with a 1.17 and .89 plus a shut out I am not an all star. However, I will confidently go on record with the following:

I feel solid if I stay healthy come August if I were a fast ball hitting team I would not want to face me in games that count.

By the way I only keep somewhat track of my stats so I know if my old ass is getting the job done.

Here are my all star selections with mad props to any players I may have missed. Also Special shout outs to all my Pub boys that I did not mention...

Angels: Carrol and 2-3 pitchers
Patriots: Seaman, Odegard and Mcdonald
Cobras: Borman, Quarberg, Rino
Lakers 2B and 2-3 pitchers
Merch: Camp
Blue Sox: Zawinsky
Rats: ?
Pub: Schildgen, Diop, Peeples, Hurt, Nault and Miester...ect. ect. ect.

Nothing really begins to matter until after the 4th. That is when some pitchers will begin to fall by the way side as cats start approaching 80 AB's...

...all that actually matters is August.

My final call is Park National team wins title this year.

Sure I will take a crack at the Riverview.

Tonka: Shally, Abs, Schmit, Rutledge, Davis, Mason, Mellek, Woodrow, Erdahl and McKenzie

Park: Paulsen, Duda, Pierce, Froom and Leuck

Hopkins: A high majority of their club plays in the MIAC. No one really jumps out for me but they could easily put out 3-5 players/pitchers

Bloomington: Pretty much their entire team plays college ball as well. Gish and Allman I think are their top two pitchers but I am not sure I may have names confused with actual arms. They could also send 2-3 players to all star game but I forgot their names.

Hit Dawg: Just a bunch of kids for the most part but a few nice young players. I personally think it would be very cool if the RV took into consideration what a neat experience it would be for a couple/few of these kids to be a part of the all star game. Even if they did not play.

Edina: Do not know this team any longer

New Hope: No clue but I hope they last in the league longer then a season or two.

#forgetaboutit...good stuff. Keep it up!

If you remember my glory days when I threw missiles, threw inside and at guys, won just about every game I pitched from age 12-22 or so and had a nasty slidepiece then you must be old like me.

Enjoy all the games you apparently watch from the seats. If you catch me on the mound some time look me after the game and I will sign a ball for you.

Gotta love the way "Old Timer" goes back in forth with his tag names and even rips himself when hes his alter ego forggeettaboutit!

The writing is so predictable and Conley esk.

Its priceless how much time this guy has on his hands. Very entertaining none the less how you trie so hard to keep your identity a secret.

Keep track of those pitching stats "Old Timer" and apprecitate you keeping us entertained throughout the season.

This is all so solid and forum typical.

My boy Duda just sent me a text correlating me to forgetaboutit guy. I admit his writing prowess is similar all be it not in my league.

I am not that cat and absolutely do not have time on my hands to go back and fourth with myself on the dreaded forum.

Yet if it makes whomever happy and this dish rag more fun then by all means I encourage whomever to think whatever they will. Even if that means I am referenced to as being "instigator" and the forgetabout it guy.

Peace and Laughs xoxoxoxo

Conley...I'm not Borman. And until yesterday...I had never seen you play. Actually.

No disrespect...I also mentioned a few people who aren't with their teams anymore so at least I stay in the loop. (Whoops)

Park Nash is solid...take your pick.
