1. Tonka
2. Cobras
3. Park
4. Patriots
5. Pub
6. Stockmens
7. Bloomington
8. Blue Package
9. Shamrocks
10. St. Anthony
11. Rosetown
12. Tri-City

Park vs Pub - Best 1st round match-up. Both have been there done that with veterans. Guess you have to go with who you think has the better shutdown pitcher. Park 5 vs Pub 4

Patriots vs Bloomington - Another good match-up. Patriots are hot took down the Angels, Bloomington battled Hopkins. I like the Patriots 7 vs Bandits 5

Rosetown vs Stockmens - Hmmmmm. Irish finally decided to play baseball in playoffs. A's pulled a major upset over Capitals and can hit. Flip a coin here and it lands on heads. Irish 9 vs A's 6

Tri-City vs Shamrocks - Shamrocks played terrible during regular season then swept River Pirates. Shark is solid but will go with Shammies assuming they now have there full team playing. This one Im not so sure about. Shamrocks 4 vs Shark 2

Round 2:
Park vs Blue Package - Blue Package gets surprising #1 seed. Yet feel the lack of experience is too much with this much on the line. Park sits pretty to advance to final 4. Park 7 vs Blue Package 4

Patriots vs St. Anthony - I like St. Anthony only as that they are rested and have a ace, yet Patriots will be able to put up runs and Hogs dont have the line-up to match in the end of a tight ball game. Patriots 7 vs Hogs 6

Cobras vs Stockmens - Best 2nd round game. I have been high on Cobras all year long unlike others and will ride them here in a high scoring affair which should be a great game. Which Irish team will show up is the question? Cobras 10 vs Irish 7

Minnetonka vs Shamrocks - Just a few years ago Shamrocks pulled a shocker and upset Millers in this same game. Not this time though. Millers 10 vs Shamrocks 4

Championship: Millers over Cobras

Good luck everyone and enjoy the best time of the year

After some lengthy discussion with former teammates Pat Meares, Scott Stahoviak, and Matt Merullo, here are my predictions for this year's Class A tournament.

Round 1:

Park/Pub. This one's a toss up. Let's go with Pub. Conley gets credited with a no-hitter, despite hitting Duda 4 times. Pub 6, Park 2.

Patriots/Bloomington. Rookie phenom Chad Allmann forces the Patriots to eat a peach. Bloomington 4, Patriots 3.

Rosetown/Stockmen's. Slugfest between two potent lineups. Too many Irish flyballs die at the warning track in the regulation confines of Haddox Field. Rosetown 12, Irish 9.

Tri-City/Shamrocks. Do the Shammies gamble and save Lindstrom for a Sunday matchup with Minnetonka? Or do they take things one game at a time? The Sharks surprised people at the Victoria tournament, knocking off Lyon's Pub and Blaine before dropping a close one to the host Vics in the championship game. Will that big game experience translate into a win? Tri-City 8, Shamrocks 3.

Round 2:

Blue Package/Pub. Blue Package has some nice young arms, but the hitting is a bit suspect. They will need to keep this a low-scoring affair if they want to advance. Close game, but Pub pulls away late. Pub 7, Blue Package 1.

St. Anthony/Bloomington. A rematch of last year's thriller. These two teams were engaged in a pitcher's duel until the Hogs defense faltered in the 8th. The Hogs have a much deeper lineup this year, and the same quality pitching as always. Another tough, close game, but the Hogs get their revenge. St. Anthony 3, Bloomington 2.

Cobras/Rosetown. The Cobras are a very balanced team and despite making their first tournament in 3 years, their tough non-league schedule will have them prepared to face whichever team emerges from the Rosetown/Stockmens throw down. Cobras 11, Rosetown 5.

Minnetonka/Tri-City. Fourth time's a charm? I don't think so. Millers cancel Shark Week. Minnetonka 9, Tri-City 3.

That leaves Minnetonka, Lyon's Pub, St. Anthony, and the Cobras to duke it out in the final weekend. A lot will come down to that first game matchup. Who gets to coast through the winners bracket, and who has to fight their way back from the brink. I'm going with Minnetonka over St. Anthony.

Very interesting and detailed predictions. I am not going to give my 2 cents on each game this time around, but will pose a question... What will Stockmen's do if they have a lack of pitching in the tourney? Can they cancel games until their pitcher(s) are ready again? If so, I think they can go deep in the tourney. I'm not sure on the rule here....Otherwise, it'll be another championship for Tonka.

I would hit Duda twice and he would lean into two others.

Pierce can go yard just because I want to drill him in second AB so he can charge. I have always wanted someone to do that. Pierce is a big boy though so perhaps I should tape my left hand and get ready to bring the hook out of retirement.

Paulsen would definitely wear one, sandwiched by two walks ending with a game finalizing ground into a DP. He grounded into one earlier in the year in the slop when he was trying to Yahtzee me.

Every attempt would be made to walk Lindy in all at bats. Out of only respect for him being a former AAA player I would not drill him. Thing is he would still go 3/4 with a double and HR.

Lueck...I would drill him too. That would be more prudently efficient then him fouling off nine pitches every AB. He can't hit back side of ball and foul balls piss me off.

Arlt would see slurves, curves, flops, flips and freebees enjoying an 0/fer night.

Garven would wear one just because (half hugs) and would see nothing but submarine slop going hit less.

Fix would get a double in his first AB and either pull up lame and be done or...in his second AB he would be called out on a questionable strike three, followed by getting tossed from the game.

Park would not scare me because they would be in their own heads. The ghost of Conley's past would be in their dug out and they know it. Besides all they would be trying to do is hit jacks at Haddux. Especially Paulsen going for the top of the water tower swinging so hard he would fall over on his own head.

Pub 7 Park 6

After the game I would present to them my signed jersey for display in the equipment shed at DKDakota Field.

FYI: I am not pitching...Pub 7 Park 2

If that was not funny to you then you are not in the loop and should say nada.

Congrats to all tourney teams. Good luck to all excluding Tonka (half hugs and xoxoxoxoxox)

I'll make sure to give a run down if the PUB ever ends up facing the Ramblers of Riverview's past.

My cousin plays on Tri-City and he says that they are stacked! He mentioned that they came in 3rd in the Skyline which is one of the toughest amateur conferences in the entire nation. They'll be tough to beat for sure.

Why does Class A baseball not have all the hype that the B and C Tourney does? I was looking on the MBA website and came across this separate link. Check this out: http://www.mbastate2013.com/

Go to the link and look at how much thought is put into the State Tourney for Class B and C. It's a joke how much the Class A Tourney is completely ignored! Why is this?

Why can't there be some way to come up with a different state tourney that is represented by 4 teams from each class? That would make an actual 12 team State Tourney, instead of Class A, B, and C tourneys. I know for a fact that some of the top teams in the State are in the Class A league, and Class A probably has 5 in the top 10!

We might have had a rough regular season, but we're definitely better than Tri-City. They were lucky to even get into the State Tourney - so I don't care what your made up cousin thinks. It's the year of the Irish baby!

I just heard a rumor that Ryan Naughton brought his talents to Waconia. Can anyone else confirm this? This would easily make them better than any of the bum teams in the class A tournament (while he's on the hill that is).

Thank you Bujinator. This is 100% true that I have decided to take my talents to South Beach (of Lake Waconia), and I have absolutely shoved against every team I've faced. In my first season in C ball, they have already had a Ryan Naughton bobblehead night, Ryan Naughton appreciation night, and Ryan Naughton fitted hat night. Below you will see my stats and realize that it doesn't matter what league I pitch in the Naughton award will live on!!

Sweet! Another town ball guy concerned about his stats. Class C...hmmm...you must be proud miss. Thanks for the link. It did not come through and like many others I am sure I did not bother to check in on the progress of the Waconia town team.

As for the cat who does not get why Class A is not pumped up on the MBA website. Well we would have to create a separate thread that went on for months in order to explain all of that.

Way too many moving parts. With that being typed there will never be a combined A/B or A/B/C tourney due to several prevalent reasons.

I don't know a lot, but what I do know is Baseball. My moniker even says so. I will only make two predictions. Insta-gator won't sniff the mound in the tourney and Moran will be Tourney MVP. Mark it down, take a screenshot, tweet it, twat it and take it to the bank.

Solid prediction know every thing guy.

I may not see the mound but I bet I "sniff" it. That is testament to the solid 4-5 guys ahead of me.

Perhaps I should simply be saved for Tonka.

It was my honor to pitch at one of the fields I grew up playing on against the best team in the state tonight.

I feel bad for Schmitty's HBP as he grew up playing at BWillow as well.

I am sure he is icing it as I type.

I gave up two hits through five.

No need to expand on my Venezuelan approach or the details of the game so as to not waste time here on the forum.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. It is greatly appreciated.

Schmitty went walk-off 3-run yahtzee and it's over.
Not off the old timer of course. It was off Nuke LaLoosh. He obviously was not breathing through his eye lids.

Really...you think we're going to lose? Not going to happen. I'd be willing to put money on it...but I don't want to end up like Pete Rose.

I have talked up Stockmens in the past, but not this time. Only against FanHQ would they prevail. Against any other league, they may have a slight chance, but not a favorable one.

I was up on Stockmen's all year despite their crappy record. But I have to agree, I don't see them fairing well in the tourney even if they beat Rosetown. It will be an interesting tourney though...now we get to see which teams can back up the talk.

I'm no genius, but something tells me I think the Skyline teams may just win all 3 of their first games. Seems to be a lot of bashing of the Skyline League on this forum, and maybe some of it is warranted. Let's just wait and see how the games play out. 2 years ago everyone said Stockmen's would be 2 and BBQ I think the outcome was quite different.

My prediction for MVP of the tourney = Urseth
IALTO...alwayssssssssssssss
